Curious to who people think Watson would want as his head coach?
Think it would just depend on whose available the year they decided to can Rhule. Dabo Swinney ? Considering it’s in Carolina I guess if he was to leave for an NFL HC gig that would be one of his more comfortable landing spots. It would take him a lot to leave college football I imagine

Just dreaming: the Panthers round one in 23 even with DW probably a top 10. So will be ours.

Man if we could get Burns, horn, Chinn and Derek Brown!

Edit: found out Horn broke 3 metatarsal in Sept so switch Wr DJ Moore for him.

We need to get this deal done fast before Easterby convinces Cal to trade for Wentz:

“Wentz’s Christian faith has been a polarizing talking point amongst NFL circles. Devout followers admire the Commanders QB’s proud showing of his faith in public. Other fans, however, feel like Wentz has used his religion as a shield at times to deflect criticism on him. His stance on his religion is just as polarizing as his play on the field.”

Apples to oranges. Gregory was a repeat offender for banned substances.

Has there been someone suspended with accusations that haven’t come to fruition? The fact the DA couldn’t even get charges brought, and there seems to be very little evidence of a crime, I don’t think Watson is at that high of risk for a lengthy suspension. 6 games at most and I doubt it’s that many.

People using emotions with their logic around here again instead of facts
Isn’t that what Zeke Elliot for for his “trouble” a few years back? Or was it three?

Don’t know if it is true or not but I hope they are this desperate

I think it’s legit. Been hearing and reading that Tepper is obsessed with getting Deshaun. It’s crazy but he seems like he isn’t the type of guy to lose out on a prized asset he wants desperately-especially to a division rival in the saints

Appears not to be legitimate...........already removed from Twitter.

Would you take this trade if the Saints offer it?

2022 1 (18th)
2022 2 (49th)
2023 1
2023 3 (becomes 2 if Saints make NFC championship or better in 2022)
2024 1
2024 3((becomes 2 if Saints make NFC championship or better in 2022 or 2023)
DE Marcus Davenport (last year of rookie contract)...assume you could come to terms with him
S CJ Gardner Johnson (las year of rookie contract)...assume you could come to terms with him

The only things I don't like are that you aren't likely getting a top half of first round pick as the Saints offense in that division should carry them to at least mediocrity. Also, no cheap players with years left on a rookie contract. Otherwise I think we could work with this and it doesn't completely mortgage the Saints future.

No Davenport has a Lisfranc

You are kidding, aren't you!

Source: Deshaun Watson has go-ahead to discuss fit with Panthers, Saints, others, Texans have to sign off on any trade parameters

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, the top player available in the NFL via the trade market, has been granted permission to discuss potential fits with the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints, among others, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.
The Texans have to sign off on any trade parameters, though, per sources. Watson is expected to meet with the Panthers and Saints in the next few days heading into the start of the free agency signing period, according to sources. No deal is imminent or developing at this time, per sources.

Am I the only one that feels like something bad is going to happen with this trade actually going through and the Texans being winners in this trade?

Or am I being the typical pessimistic Houston Football Fan?
Carolina seems to be committed to making a serious offer. They are the only team which has maintained an interest since it became known that Watson was available. A good mix of picks and players. Their HC has gone missing and is presumed to be meeting with Watson today.

The Texans have the ultimate no trade clause.

The arrogance of Watson is just bizarre. He demands a trade just months after signing a huge deal and now gets to act like a free agent in picking his next team. I don't believe in karma, but if I did, I'd hope he endures many losing seasons in the years ahead. He is the worst kind of selfish, entitled entertainer.

His behavior would have you believe he thinks he is some sort of mega star.🙄

It is not only picking the team but having say in the head coach and GM.

That’s like a kid getting a part time job and telling their parents what type of house to live in and what type of car to drive.

I don’t see why teams would want that person to lead their team.

He is football’s James Harden.

I've been trying to tell posters this for years.

I may be in the minority here but I have no ill will towards watson tbh but the sooner we trade him the sooner we can all move on

I'm with you here.

He had a falling out with the organization and no one but those behind the scenes know what really went on there. But this is also an organization that hasn't done a whole lot to endear itself much benefit of the doubt. So like any disagreement that doesn't involve me I just have to shrug and say 'well, that's between y'all'.

As for him trying to pick his destination, well, the team gave him that avenue whether they should've or not. And absolutely anyone else would do the same with the remainder of their very lucrative careers on the line. If anyone here were in a similar situation with their career and had the option to go to the career equivalent of Detroit or veto that to try and get a better result they'd be full of it if they say they wouldn't.

As fans of the Texans, we should feel a shared disgust about his dishonorable behavior.

If the Texans are nothing but doormats that can justify any prima donna player demanding what they want, then we should just accept that this is Detroit Lions south territory and be happy with just having a football team in Houston. Never expect or hope for anything greater because every player can just cite that they are unhappy with the owners and the dumb fans of Houston will blindly accept it.

I don't but it. It was the same owner and front office, sans O'Brien, when he signed that mega-deal in September 2020. He could have been a man like Cousins and forced the issue, but instead he signs a deal knowing that he's never going to honor it.

We will probably never get the truth, simply because it's not in the Texans DNA to reveal such things and Watson is clearly a selfish jackass that appears incapable of revealing who and what he really is to the public. He's got to spin his brand, so being duplicitous is just part of the marketing plan.

The sooner he's gone the better. On the bright side, many of us now have an NFL villain to actively root against. lol :voodoo:

I believe in karma and I have been poking a needle into the knees of an effigy that looks like him
