I really don’t want to hear Culley talking about the two turnovers. Plenty of other offensive possessions they did nothing, much less score.

Huh how is Mills a better prospect than Keenum? You have to roll with Mills for the rest of the season. This is the same situation we were in with Keenum under Kubiak. Except Mills is a better prospect.

Lol nevermind, don't want to derail the game thread.
No. Mills has made one poor decision after another. We should definitely know by now he isn’t the one.You have to roll with Mills for the rest of the season. This is the same situation we were in with Keenum under Kubiak. Except Mills is a better prospect.
The very next play call was upsetting to me. 3 and 9 and you call a darn running play up the gut. Look
So a kid with 11 career collegiate starts is a better prospect than a kid with the most career passing yards in college history?
Keenum's ball velocity is right up there with several legit NFL QBs.Mills has more arm talent and can make all the throws. I like Keenum but he had some physical limitations.
When looking at QB prospects. Arm talent can be seductive and totally misleading. It's the reason Jamarcus Russell went 1.1 in a draft and some experts thinking Ryan Leaf would be a better pro prospect than Peyton Manning.Mills has more arm talent and can make all the throws. Since training camp I keep reading that Mills has a big arm. As of today, I cannot recall one of his passes that made me go "wow. what an arm".Keenum's ball velocity is right up there with several legit NFL QBs.

Mills is not known to have a big arm.
It's not only his processing, but Mills has made some terrible decisions and throws even when not under pressure. And it's not just when he and the receiver are not on the same page. This kid needs the kind of grooming that does not exist on this team. This deep into the season, yes. It's not a knock on Keenum, but Mills throws a better ball than most NFL starters. The question at this point is how Mills processes what he sees while under pressure, which is every snap.
No. Mills has made one poor decision after another. We should definitely know by now he isn’t the one.
I’d start him next week, but if he continues to make bad decisions I’m going back to Taylor. & if he keeps screwing up, I’ll go back to Mills.
Taylor is most likely not my QB for 2022, but neither is Mills

Scouting report like this is the norm for Mills.Since training camp I keep reading that Mills has a big arm. As of today, I cannot recall one of his passes that made me go "wow. what an arm".
What the OL does is what the OL does. What Mills does is what Mills does. Throw the ball away. That’s what pocket passers do when it’s not there & the OL can’t do their job.Mills is a pure pocket passer who isn't being given a pocket. I think the O-line has to function before we know to move on.

Here's a rough idea of what Mills can look like if given protection and seeing his reads. Understanding highlights can be misleading, but it proves there's a lot to work with. Davis Mills Mid-Season Highlights - YouTube
Valid point that afflicts every GM and coach evaluating a QB. Rex Grossman is another example. This same conversation has been had by every coach concerning great QB's who've had rough starts. I could be totally wrong about Mills, but he has enough upside to take a gamble on.
When a HC has more chomps on his gum than yards passing in a game, he should take his L, stuff his mouth with a couple packs of Bubble Yum and go home.I don't want to hear him talk period.
Johnson was out for the game still with that illness which went through the club this past week. This half, I haven't seen Johnson getting tackled by the turf. Did he get benched or they are just waiting on a RB to have a couple of good runs before they kill the momentum?
Which illness? Suckitis.Johnson was out for the game still with that illness which went through the club this past week.
Remember when people here thought Tyrod gave us a better chance. Yet others thought reps were better for Davis so we can see what we got
Well the fools who thought tyrod would be a great fit on his 99th team got egg on the face. Dude is trash. Good luck to him on his next ventureWhat we got is not much.
Always the voice of reason.I really don’t want to hear Culley talking about the two turnovers. Plenty of other offensive possessions they did nothing, much less score.

No egg on my face. The whole reason I wanted to see Tyrod was for the development of the rest of the team.Well the fools who thought tyrod would be a great fit on his 99th team got egg on the face. Dude is trash. Good luck to him on his next venture
Nobody said Tyrod was going to be the savior; most was expecting 3-5 wins in a 17-game season.Remember when people here thought Tyrod gave us a better chance. Yet others thought reps were better for Davis so we can see what we got
Geez Heck sucks
I’ve got to see good decisions from Mills if I’m going to support seeing him on the field. So far I’m not.
Doesn’t matter to me if it’s Mills or Taylor.
To be fair. The 2021 Texans are testing many of the things people here have said over the past 2 to 3 seasons.Remember when people here thought Tyrod gave us a better chance. Yet others thought reps were better for Davis so we can see what we got
Best part of this game was the announcers trying hard not to say the Texans just suck.
I've been attending games as a season ticket holder since the first season.
The energy in the stadium today was as dead and flat like never before.
It is 100% the fault of Cal's incompetence and apathy.
No egg on my face. The whole reason I wanted to see Tyrod was for the development of the rest of the team.
if Tyrod didn’t come back as starter, some of us would be making excuses for the offense because of the rookie.
But since Tyrod came back as the starter & the offense continues to struggle it’s clear the issues are beyond the QB.
Last year, with a terrible defense that barely created turnovers or flipped field position, the Texans lost at least 7 games by 7 points or less. That took Derrick throwing for 33 TDs and 7 INTS to keep those games close. That performance was criticized as compiling garbage time stats. This year, you are seeing opponents with 30 point leads playing prevent and the Texans can barely throw for 100 yards. I guess it's not so easy to compile garbage time stats.Dont mean to be bad, but some of this posters knew was going to happen long ago. Brady/Montana/Elway would struggle behind this OL. Heck, Derrick who some posters used to think was a god around these parts struggled with this level of incompetence. 4 wins gonna be 4 wins best case scenario.
You just knew what steelb was going to say.Last year, with a terrible defense that barely created turnovers or flipped field position, the Texans lost at least 7 games by 7 points or less. Without Derrick, the OL is still missing blitz pickups. The running game still sucks. The play calling is still mediocre. They are still not moving the chains. They are still not scoring on their opening drives. They are still not making half time adjustments. I just find it funny that now that QB play is a real concern, we are finally evaluating more than just QB play and recognizing there are bigger issues with this team than just the QB. I guess better late than never.

The QB was and is a loser.
Plain and simple
Looking forward to TEAM that can win more than 4 games.
From the fan perspective I can see this building. But I don't believe that's where Caserio is at.Cully trend line is spiraling downward. He’s losing grip/traction it’s just matter of time.
You're seeing the real McNair.Cully trend line is spiraling downward. He’s losing grip/traction it’s just matter of time. Jacksonville also has a terrible coaching situation but with more talent. That game, Sunday December 19th will be his Alamo. Some may say these games don’t matter, well believe me they matter and loser of this game, Meyer or Culley should be fired (maybe both) regardless. Heck I thought Detroit was the worst team in the NFL. Bad decisions costing games they should’ve won but yesterday they finally did win against playoff bound Vikings. That team hasn’t quit despite winning just that one game. They lost to Bears by two last week, lost to Browns week before by three and tied Steelers week before that.
Would the real McNair please stand up.![]()
It all goes back to Caserio. From the fan perspective I can see this building. But I don't believe that's where Caserio is at.
Lovie may actually save Culley's job. It's clearly a problem of offensive production. & Culley is not tied to the offense as our previous HC.
Blaming Kelly wouldn't be throwing him under the bus as it was in past regimes. Those HC were the real OCs.
But we may be in a situation where Caserio knew to expect Kelly to be "figuring out" what the offense was going to be. & is grading him on a different scale than we are.
this pretty much sums it up… this poor fella looks like he is gonna throw up
You don't have good weed then.I can't imagine why anyone is still spending money on this team, or going to the games.
