Depends on what you're expectations were. I was hoping Caserio could find 5-6 solid players in this yrs draft and fA. I think they've found solid players with KGH/Collins/Collins/Lopez/Jordan/Taylor I also like Thomas quite bit. This goes along with Greenard and Blacklock. These guys are solid players. Mix talented star level players with these guys and the team will look alot better.

Say out of this draft Caserio was able to draft 2 star level players like Stingley/Hutchinson in a trade for Derrick and their own pick. Then draft a guy like the LB Smith from Penis St. You dont think this team would look better? Put Hamilton in place of Hutchinson and you would have a really good young secondary for the next decade.
If he pulls off a stellar draft, of course the team will look better, and Caserio will look better for it. I'm not sure if we have found 5 or 6 solid players, or if we are just getting used to substandard play. Better coaching would help. I thought Culley had potential after the first couple of games, but we are still the same undisciplined team. Caserio will likely get the opportunity to pick another coach once (if) the pantry is stocked with groceries.

I have zero expectations this year and no real opinion of Caserio as of now. I expect real talent to be added in 2022, and measurable improvement on the field. Probably won't see a competitive team until 2023, at which time Caserio can be judged in full.

This year is a wash, next year as well. This team is in so bad of shape, one off season and draft is not enough to fix it in 2022. And even if the slippery golden goose leaves us some draft picks in his exit, it still won't be enough to rebound in one year. I would expect though, that we should be good enough to win a few games from our fellow NFL bottom feeders next year.

I don't get the point of this post. That looks like a tweet from Watson's marketing agent. Shoot, you can find social media postings of Watson in places from New York to Israel. After these allegations, that post is as significant as the Watson getting baptized in Israel:

America's Voices in Israel - WATCH: NFL QUARTERBACK DESHAUN WATSON GETS BAPTIZED IN ISRAEL | Facebook
That photo was from February and has been posted months ago on this message board. If I remember correctly it was a party that Watson went to and no one was wearing masks. Just another show of d w not making wise decisions to be photographed.

All kidding aside. When does this border on breach of contract?
Personally I think it’s breech of contract when he said, “I’ll never take another snap.” & when he reinforced his non-intention when he met face to face with Culley is the proof.

if it were me, I’d have stopped the direct deposits & tell him we’ll settle it at arbitration once his legal concerns are in order.

But evidently Caserio & Jack have a better plan.

I think Nick is up to something. Doc has already explained that he used some tricks to find out about Watson being willing to settle for example. The only question is why did Watson not meet with the group from the Dolphins? Basically it seems like that was the last thing to do to get the deal done. It's not like he has a game or something

More bull💩

1. Never had specific agreement on compensation
2. Watson tried but was unable to close the deal on the settlements
3. Carolina was never in it because Watson has never approved them

Jay Glazer is becoming the new Jason La Canfora. He just makes isht up, over and over again.

Caserio got exactly what he wanted from the trade deadline: He baited the hook for MIA to push Watson, then Watson attempted to settle all the cases with NDAs which is what Caserio wanted. Watson can no longer say he won't settle the cases, that's what he & Nick have argued about. With settlements an option, Caserio can make a market for Watson in the offseason.

Maybe the smartest move by any GM (short of getting Brady to TB) in modern NFL history. I don’t remember any GM being able to turn a situation into a plus like Nick has. This could be a huge help for the Texans when it's time again to move players.

If this is true. Why are the Texans making it so easy for him to hold them hostage to the stupid NTC? Why make it so easy for him to dictate and hold the franchise hostage while he gets his wish to play in Miami? Make him take the field, play or repay the signing bonus. I don't get their passive stance or this media gamesmanship. Hit him where it hurts. His pocketbook.
Either they know he will fake an injury or they’re doing it because they want other players to know they support their players no matter what. That way top free agent would hopefully want to come here. Maybe they think he would have a change of heart.

Interesting Details Emerge From Deshaun Watson Trade Rumors

HOUSTON, TEXAS - JANUARY 03: Deshaun Watson #4 of the Houston Texans looks to pass during the first half against the Tennessee Titans at NRG Stadium on January 03, 2021 in Houston, Texas. (Photo by Carmen Mandato/Getty Images)
There’s a new development regarding the Deshaun Watson trade which never took place ahead of the trade deadline.

The Miami Dolphins were reportedly making a run after the young star before the deadline. It was previously believed their offer included Tua Tagovailoa, as it would make sense Houston would want a quarterback in return for Watson.

According to a new report, the Dolphins never included Tagovailoa in their offer for Watson, though. But they could change their mind and include Tagovailoa in a trade for Watson if Miami lands a “no-doubt franchise QB” next off-season.
It sounds like the Dolphins aren’t comfortable with the idea of sending off Tagovailoa for Watson, seeing that Watson’s future is in jeopardy.

“The Miami Dolphins reportedly weren’t planning to trade quarterback Tua Tagovailoa this season, even if they acquired Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans before the trade deadline,” wrote Tim Daniels via Bleacher Report.
“Jeff Howe of The Athletic reported Thursday that stance could change in the offseason if the Dolphins land a “no-doubt franchise QB,” at which point they could look to move Tagovailoa for a Day 2 pick in the 2022 NFL draft.”

It’s kind of hard to believe the Dolphins wanted a quarterback room that featured both Tua Tagovailoa and Deshaun Watson. That type of scenario destroys locker rooms.

And it’s a no-brainer the Texans didn’t accept the Dolphins’ offer. Why would they? They’d need another quarterback with Watson out of the mix.

The Dolphins could potentially include Tagovailoa in a trade for Watson if they land another quarterback next off-season.

Your right. 2024, if they draft well and sign well is the 1st season I think we might be solid in the win column. For the next few years except the team to be 7-9 at the absolute best. And again, only if they make good moves with the draft and FAs.

The coaching staff is questionable, but deserves to finish the year before any panic firing/hiring occurs. I don't think Culley is our future, but I'll be happy to be wrong about that. He seems like a nice guy, but his competency hasn't been demonstrated yet. Given the players he has to work with though, I think cutting him some slack is fine.

What would you consider measurable improvement?

I think 5-12 6-11 next yr would signify much improvement.

2024 or 2 more draft classes is when I think they become an above .500 team with the arrow pointing up. Depending on if they find their QB.

The photo you are speaking of was not taken in Miami, it was taken in Houston at the opening of Watson's Lefty's Famous Cheesesteak steakhouse on Dec 20, 2020.

It was surely time
It's Texans news and nobody I could see got out of line.

Just because some dont like the subject of a thread doesn't mean the thread should be shutdown.

Whatever mod that shut that thread down and we will never know who shut it down wasn't following the TT rules and was being very subjective.

All he really did was ensure that this thread will go to crap and be shutdown in the near future.

So you’re saying the other thread went to crap… & complaining that it was shut down?

it wasn’t me. But I don’t see a problem removing crap. That’s what mods are supposed to do

There was no new info coming out, just re-hashing of old stuff and members repeating what they had already posted (many times for many times). I don't see any problem with thread being locked until there is new info. Not like anything was removed

Also if they are going to reopen it when new info comes out..?

That sounds like reasonable improvement, but with solid strides in the trenches and fewer penalties.

IF we get a haul for the 3rd string QB, it would be good to see above .500 play in 2023, but I'm not sure that is possible with this offensive staff.

6 would be the absolute minimum for mine.
But I am thinking we need more than just a good Oline or running game to be above .500 but either of those likely get us the minimum improvement.
I think we need a better running back coaching staff as well as Oline staff. All this needs to better co-ordinated and that falls on the OC.

2024 / Rebuilding Block 4 After Playoffs / Texans
Jalen Hurts may be the quarterback of the future in Philadelphia after all.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Hurts' recent string of strong play has the Eagles encouraged in the Oklahoma product's progress, making them less likely to pursue Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson or any other veteran option at the position.
He’s proving that rumor wrong today. Hurts is having a tough game.

A lot of stuff in this video. But because of the "info" about Watson I decided to put it here. I understand he got the first topic here wrong, so take that in to account.

The Texans should operate like Watson had a career-ending injury.

If/when they get picks, then it'd be a bonus, not part of a rebuild plan put on ice until he gets his alleged crimes judged.

Really doesn’t make sense to me that Watson didn’t settle with the 18 ready to. I think that would make him more likely to be traded, dealing with 4 civil suits instead of 22.

now he’s going to have to deal with 22 suits before the next “deadline”

only way it makes sense is if rumors about Miami owner paying the bill.
