Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

Management had no clue Watson had off the field issues like this. This is not on them.
Probably. If you believe the Hopkins trade rumors, maybe the Texans did know something. But I can't believe they would hand out that kind of contract if they knew the extent. Where were the tells? None of the women filed a police report on Watson. Watson had a fairly clean public persona. I'm not the guy to defend this organization for many of the things they do. I just think this situation could have blindsided any organization.

Agree. By all accounts, Watson had a clean public persona. Anyone who has never spoken to the man or interacted with him claiming that they knew he was capable of this behavior is wasting their talents on the forum of a mediocre football team. They should be heading a Minority Report type bureau and visiting colleges and work places preventing "alleged" crimes before it happen. In other words, anyone making that claim is full of sh**!

Where's your evidence? Why would Kyle & Jack give that contract if they were even slightly suspicious? Doesn't add up.
Kareem Jackson who has claimed to be a good friend of Watson, calling him to Denver had no idea of Watson's deviant behavior. Neither did AJ. No way Kyle was going to know.

I imagine they heard Watson's prolific stories of how women gotta have it after seeing it. & they probably believed him, after all it's Deshaun Watson.

At worst they were probably telling him to wear a raincoat & to protect himself legally. The Texans were probably telling him the same thing, the same way the Navy told us the last week of boot camp.

But there's no way any of them knew what really happened behind closed doors. After the first five came out, I'm sure they were all, "I told you so." About protecting himself legally. After the dozen others, they're preparing their, "I can't visit you in prison because..." statements.

If it's true like Hopkins said and had a PI following him around, you can bet the POS was being followed too. If this is the case then Texans mgmt knew at least some of the things Hopkins/POS were doing.

Regardless if the accusations are proven true or false, it wouldn't be surprising to find out that other players are shocked at how reckless he has behaved by selecting random IG massage therapists.

Well hell, with games starting up I thought for sure this thread would start sinking down the board. I guess no one ever gets tired of it though. Especially when there always seems to be some new angle to address that no one has ever thought of before.
:sarcasm:

Just confirmed that the Watson investigation for the DA's Office is being led by its Human Trafficking division, and the criminal investigation by Harris County Police detectives that specialize in Human Trafficking investigations.

just tagging on here not trying contradict any information

The information I have received is that the Grand Jury's subpoenas include those to compel "witness" testimony as well as documents.

The way I understand it, even if there were consensual sex acts, Watson could still be convicted for paying, ubering, or flying in the other party. & while I personally don't think, "I'll ruin your career." is enough to support a "rape" conviction, it's more than enough for a human trafficking conviction.

In other words, that's a fork you see sticking out of Watson.

Soliciting sex via fraud. It is obvious that Watson sought out numerous encounters while purporting that he needed a massage.

And if the above was not enough...................a new state law passed, exclusive only to Texas...........coincides with the Grand Jury's consideration of Watson's case. :

Texas is first state to make buying sex a felony
Jasper Scherer, Staff writer

People who buy or solicit sex from prostitutes in Texas can soon be charged with state jail felonies under a new law that ramps up penalties for a host of crimes related to sex trafficking in an attempt to deter the practice.

House Bill 1540, authored by state Rep. Senfronia Thompson, D-Houston, also expands the definition of human trafficking — a first-degree felony in Texas — to include those who recruit trafficking victims from residential treatment centers that house homeless or foster children and minors who were previous victims of violence and assault.

The bill passed the House and Senate unanimously during the spring legislative session and will take effect Sept. 1. It is the first state law in the country that makes it a felony to buy sex from an adult, according to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

State Rep. Ann Johnson, a Houston Democrat who previously served as the chief human trafficking prosecutor for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, said the new law continues the recent trend of Texas laws that shift criminal punishment away from women who are victims of sex trafficking and onto the johns who buy sex and the pimps who run the illegal trade.

“If you think about it, the easiest population that you can go after is the demand side,” Johnson said. “We are sending a really strong message that the demand is kind of the linchpin. We as a society are saying, ‘Boys will not be boys,’ and that buying sex is actually fueling the exploitation of another human being, and it’s not OK in the state of Texas.”

Evidence that the Texans knew Watson was assaulting women. They could have been aware he was getting a lot of massages. They were not in the room with him.

True, Cal didn't see the POS stick his penis in a girls hand. If you're looking for that type of evidence you wont find it.

So what other evidence would make them suspicious? You said you thought they knew. How would they know anything? Because Watson went to Clemson? That seems to be your logic

Because I believe the PI's also asked the employees questions about what the POS was doing while he was at those establishments. At the very least the Texans org knew your guy had fetish issues. This is what highly paid PI's do.

Seems like a very steep hill to climb as far as proving his intent to pay for sex. Paying for a massage and then having consensual sex (assuming that’s his defense) does not seem to fit the bill for this law. Without hard evidence how can they convict on this?

Even if he didn't sexually assault these women.

He's certainly guilty of most of these things.

If there's any justice there should be jail time.

My first question to my wife and daughter would be, how did you manage to go behind my back and place provocative photos of yourself in less than professional poses/clothing on Instagram to advertise your licensed masseuse skill set? Was there not a more professional advertising route to help reduce the wrong type of customer? My sister would be her own adult. This type of discussion with my sister would only lead to discussions as to why she chose this method of advertising her masseuse skill-set.

I also believe that for the majority of young women familiar with Instagram….advertising themselves in a certain amount of ultra revealing clothing and poses….does generate a lot of unwanted solicitations outside the services they’ve chose to advertise.

Like the women who choose to work at Gentlemen Clubs, they do so willingly and are fully aware that some folks will enter the building and conduct themselves properly and then there are those individuals who show up with a totally different game plan b/c they feel entitled or feel that those women put themselves out there for their personal end-game.

In either case, it’s not right for any individual to think they can do whatever they want and walk away without any consequences. But, just to set the record straight….many of these women don’t mind soliciting an individual for more than what their advertising (masseuse, exotic dancer, etc). Anything happening due to solicitation would be seen as consensual.

This is what the Grand Jury will have to figure out…..was it blatant freakish sexual behavior by Watson or a consensual situation. Watson’s only public statement to date was to say any sexual situations were consensual. The women have stated the opposite. Classic “he said-she said” with neither party bringing any physical evidence to the table.

Even though I’m completely pissed off as to the BS trade demands by Watson, citing Cal McNair failing to live up to his offer of including him in the GM and HC search, he’s still going to get his day in court……therefore, I will refrain from referencing him as a POS, pervert, sexual deviant, oily or whatever other name some can come up with until a verdict is rendered in this case. Watson put himself in an awfully incriminating position but by no means does that make him guilty without both sides getting to present their evidence.

Your assumption that these women are advertising anything other than as professionals are unfounded.

Several of them didn't even advertise at all and were referred by others to Watson , those that did advertise did so as professional sports therapists.

They aren't posing provocitavely in their best Victoria's secret outfit .

Not True even in the slightest.

Texans could save themselves a lot of money if they would turnover what those PIs gave them.

Have to clear this up - Many of them were NOT random , they were referred by other "professionals".

Some of them were not massage therapists at all but "complexion therapists" , again referred to Watson.
I do believe that at least one of those "referring" Watson to these individuals was also the one who said he should be careful , people talkin bout you doing these things - She knew what he was doing and put those girls in his crosshairs .... Might be some liability / culpability there
And don't forget about Avery who also was said to refer them to Watson.

So Hopkins was either paranoid or lying?

Color me shocked.

Hopkins is full of it , they were pretty blatant about the instagram hoes they were messing with , it was no secret that they were banging groupies left and right. Hopkins kinda kept him between the lines to some degree.

Then after Hopkins exited stage left & DW4 hooked up with Jilly he couldn't do things openly the way he had - there had to be some cover and that's why he targeted a specific profile.
Sports massages were a god excuse for him to be alone with other women.

There's more on Jilly but I hesitate to post it ....

As this does not go into effect until September 1st and the events happened months ago I would think this law would not retroactive to cover Watson? Anyone have any thoughts?

Of course not , he's a star .... his expectations based upon how people have treated him since high school.
I am hoping that one of the things that folks learn from this situation with Watson is how they look up to athletes and other entertainers.

And in all of this, he couldn’t fathom that someone would tell him the word no
You obviously don't watch enough porn. Fly dude goes in for a massage, masseuse notices his magnificence & begs for the privilege to satisfy her base desires. The benevolent master of the universe acquiesce her desire out of pity.

Happens all the time.

For what it's worth. I've not seen any quote or link from Hopkins claiming PIs were following him.

As I have zero knowledge related to the law process, is there ignificance to these investigations being led by the Human Trafficking division? Curious to how it applies...
Found this on laws being retroactive. Of course there are some exceptions.

As a general rule, laws shall have only a prospective effect and must not be applied retroactively in such a way as to apply to pending disputes and cases. This is expressed in the familiar legal maxim lex prospicit, non respicit (the law looks forward and not backward), and is conformable to Article 4 of the Civil Code. The rule is intended to the tendency of retroactive legislation to be unjust and oppressive on account of its liability to punish individuals for violations of laws not yet enacted, unsettle vested rights or disturb the legal effect of prior transactions, which is unconstitutional.

It's out there.

I remember him saying this after he was traded to the Cards.

Anyways, I'm just glad all of the trash will be gone sometime in the hopefully near future and a new beginning is starting to take shape.

I find it curious that Sounds was treated worse by the media in this town than this POS has been treated.

Well looks like Texas won't be legalizing prostitution any time, which I totally support.
Jeez in some ways this state seems almost as primitive as the Taliban.

My thought is, and only guessing, is that if he is CONVICTED before Sep 1 it would not apply to him, but if he is convicted of any of those crimes afterwards they would be applicable.
In truth, laws apply to when the "crime" was enacted, not when new laws go into effect. However, as I posted above, the new laws to go into effect Sept 1 without doubt demonstrate the seriousness that is being placed on going after all examples of unacceptable sexual behavior.
