I think we may actually win this one. Our old worn out RBs will have fresh legs for game 1, Tyrod Taylor is less likely to make mistakes than Trevor Lawrenece in the first game. IDK, I think we could eek this one out (I'm still predicting 4 wins).

Knowing the Texans history against rookie QBs, I wouldn't be shocked if Trevor fulfills all the pundit prophecies about him before he tumbles back to Earth playing actual NFL teams.

Then again, the Jags are not some powerhouse franchise, so maybe the Texans will come out competing and give them a run for their money.

The press could ask Culley, but apparently he's the only HC in the NFL that doesn't speak at press conferences even when he's present.

Culley is a figurehead especially when Caserio is in the room. Seeing how the Texans D is going to be worse than last year, Jags will run to daylight. Lawrence is by far the best QB in Jags history and has faced tougher defenses against BAMA, Ohio State and Notre Dame. Texans get out coached, Jags Win!

The man hasn't even played a snap in the NFL and dude just typed he's the best quarterback in Jaguars history. Wow lol too funny
Some people have a sense and know, some people don't. :) Kind of like I knew Bill O'Brien would never be a successful NFL HC when he had never coached an NFL game. Kind of like I know that Caserio is going to be just another failed Belichick clerk after his first half dozen decisions and a couple of press conferences as the Texans GM. Go figure. This should keep you laughing for awhile.

As a coach, O'Brien wasn't the worst in the NFL. As a GM, he wasn't one of those.
Caserio is doing a decent job so far.

I’m going with 1-0. The Jaguars are by far the worst team in our division until proven otherwise.
I think our offense could be solid but I still don't have a lot of faith in our defense. I am not to the point of making a prediction in regards to the outcome till after training camp and preseason games have been played.

I agree in regards to our pourous defense but I think you are a bit early in your take on Lawrence. I would say that as of now Mark Brunell gets that distinction. Lawrence has done nothing up to this point to say he is by far the best QB in Jags history. For all we know he could struggle as a starting QB for the Jags and his career could be disappointing. I think he will be a franchise QB but I would not go as far as to say I know for sure how his career will turn out!

People were saying that about Watson and the Texans before his first NFL snap. And they were right.
I think at this time the best QB in the History of the Jags is Mark Brunell and nobody has come close. You can say you think Trevor Lawrence IS the best Jags QB in history but until he plays out his first contract it is a bit premature to state that. Brunell was not a HOF QB but he was pretty darn good for several seasons with the Jags. When it is all said and done Trevor Lawrence may one day be a HOF QB but until he has played long enough to start a debate in that regard,it is pointless.

No matter what people were saying about DW4 they were wrong. It does not matter how things turned out it is wrong to count your chickens before they hatch.

It is a much bigger reach IMO to assume Trevor Lawrence is the best Jags QB ever before he takes even one regular season snap!

Seeing how he looked when he spoke to the media about the DW4 fiasco it's probably for the best.

Yep, Brunell was really good.

I think the defense will still suck, but be better than they were last yr. In the 25-27 range.

The defenses in the League last year as a whole were pretty poor..........the COVID shortened offseason, preseason and practice regimens did a number on the quality of play...........even more than in the leaner practice regimens of recent years.

If the Texans hold him under 400 yards passing, I will consider it a success.

+ no Roby in week 1, and I'm not sure it would matter even if he was available.

vs Jags - L - There's a new sheriff in the AFC South
@ Brownies - L - Tunsil gives up a sack to Clowney. JD gets 2 more the rest of the season.
vs Panthers - W - Texans win! Texans win!
@ Bills - L - Texans do not win. This will be a common theme for weeks.
vs Pats - L - Hoody will get the team up for this one.
@ Colts - L - The Texans don't win in Indy, even during good years.
@ Cards - L - Hop gets 3 TDS and Player of the Week.
vs Rams - L - Tyrod Taylor, meet Mr. Aaron Donald.
@ Fins - L - Remember when the Texans used to win in Florida?
@ Titans - L - Henry gets 200 yards before the 4th quarter.
vs Jets - W - Texans win in Mills first start.
vs Colts - W - It's a winning streak! Colts lethargic heading into the bye week.
vs Seahawks - L - Culley is no longer smiling in post game pressers. :(
@ Jags - L - Jags fighting for playoff spot, win by 3 TDS.
vs Chargers - W - Jumping Jack Easterby! A win over a disinterested Chargers on the day after Xmas.
@ Niners - L - A loss. No surprises.
vs Titans - L - Titans need this to clinch AFC South title. 4-13 Texans wrap up #1 pick over Lions via SOS.

I can not believe people are actually picking the Jaguars to beat us twice, even after they only won one freaking game last year. Good googly goo our fan base on here, are too down on this team. Lol

Even the Panthers were better and people are picking us to beat them. The Colts are a way better team than the Jaguars. So how are we winning that game but can’t beat the sorry ash Jaguars. Confusing

There are a lot of factors that go from one season to the next. The Jags were 0-5 in 2020 in games decided by 4 points or less. Using the Pythagorean formula expectation, the Jags should have been a 4-12 team. They've since added a tremendous draft class, signed 4 starters in FA, re-signed two starting o-linemen, and hired a competent coaching staff. I'm predicting a 10-7 record for JAX, due to their improvements and a couple of their divisional rivals taking a step back.

If that’s the case the Texans should’ve made the playoffs last season with a record of 10-6.

I predict the Jaguars to be last in this division again with a record of 5-12. I do not see them magically becoming a powerhouse team with a record of 10-7.

The Jags have more talent on their team than the Texans do. What that actually means when the real football starts is anyone's guess.

When this team shows something worthy of not being down on them, I’ll gladly pick up the pom poms. I won’t be a blind follower thinking they can do no wrong though.

As for what they do against the Jags this year, who the **** knows? What we do know is that Jake Luton threw for 300 yards against them in his very 1st ever NFL game, and only lost by a failed 2 point conversion. Trevor Lawrence is probably better than Jake Luton.
