It is preseason game one in 2022. We have your idea of how the off seasons before 2021 and after went. Your trades, draft, UDFAs and free agency is basically over.

Im all about getting in on the ground floor of things so i can't wait to see this team under new coaching. Like Kubiak's team in 2013 to BoB in 2014, this team isn't as bad as its previous year's record indicates. The thing most fans don't recognize is how much of a toll firing your HC midseason takes on the team. The last 2 texans HC's were fired midseason. & in both situations the teams just fell apart. So i not only expect to see improvement b/c of better coaching, i expect to see it b/c the team will have its HC all throughout the season.

The organization is wearing me thin on how much stupidity I can tolerate and continue to support the team. However, I do think that Caserio can be a very good GM, at least better than the last 2, and can get us on the right track in a short period of time. I have my doubts about Culley's ability as a HC but I do like some of the assistant coaches now on staff.

I will no longer waste a beautiful fall day watching a team that gives up large leads or makes bone headed decisions.

I’ll watch just so I can laugh at Cal McNair and his sorry ass team. I’ll be watching and following the Bucs closely since I have family with season tickets down in Tampa. Why waste time watching this joke of a team, religiously like I used to, instead of watching the GOAT?

Trades and draft and FA will not impact Texans after two off seasons?

I don't even know what this thread means. Can we at least start the 2021 league season first?

What type of fan will I be? Probably one that's embarrassed this organization represents my hometown, wondering if they'll ever have what it takes to turn this sinking dumpster fire around. You know, kinda like I am now.

It's not just the Texans, it's all sports in general. I used to watch every sport religiously, but there's too much politics and soap opera B.S. going on in sports today, and it just keeps pushing me away.

That and the new age "Me and my brand" players who just want to hook up and play together. Back in the day all the top players wanted to rip each other's hearts out.. **** is just not the same.

To me, the Texans are that troubled son turned adult that we all either have or know of.

We love him. Despite all of our efforts, all of our money spent and all of the heartache and stress, he still routinely makes the wrong decisions. Routinely in trouble with the law. Routinely experimenting with drugs. Routinely in the wrong place at the wrong time. We still love him....but for his own good and our own health, can no longer continue supporting him and his behavior. It is heartbreaking, but to salvage any shred of sanity, one must let go and walk away.

Well first if I'm still kicking it in on Earth and hopefully I am, then here's to hoping there's light at the end of the tunnel by 22'. I'll go back to R streaming games, no NFL Ticket for me for a couple years.

I have very little Texans gear, actually I just have a tumbler and this metal welded fabricated Texans helmet thingie my wife bought me. I just pray (no pun intended) that JE and Cal stay out of NC's way and let him do what needs to be done at all levels of personel.

I feel the same way but you must be younger? I stopped screaming years ago....I was knocking over too many beers getting excited over this **** show.
I broke our ceiling fan's light fixture one time... stood up and raised my hands a little too fast. I used to be louder, but learned to quiet myself down a bit when I had kids, and the wife kept getting angry I was waking them up.

2022 will be year 2 of the Caserio rebuild. Watson will most likely be gone, so there will be some journeyman JAG or a rookie at QB. Can't expect too much there. The rest of the team will be a lot of JAGs (I don't foresee many talented high priced FAs in the future), but hopefully the defense will show some improvement in 2021 and going into 2022.

Maybe hope for 6-8 wins in 2022 if things fall into place and Caserio is a grown up GM and not handicapped by his halfwit boss and shyster sidekick.

I can tell you what I probably won't be: a happy, shiny fan. TexansVinny.jpg

My NFL viewing has been trending down for several years now. I only watch the Texans now and there were some game days this past season, I did not even know what time or channel they were on. I did not even think about watching them. And it didn't have anything to do with their record; the same was true the 2019 season. I think I went a stretch of 4 or 5 games in 2019 in which I didn't watch (I do believe I had Dish Network then and they were having a dispute with CBS so 3 of those games I wasn't able to watch anyway) at all.

2022? The way things have been going, I'll maybe watch 9 hours of Houston Texans football and I'll probably forget they're even on sometimes. What type of fan does that make me?

I guess I am just an optimist. I think Deshaun will be traded although I probably will not be satisfied with what we get. I am putting a lot on caserios shoulders and expect a very good draft. Also think we will end up with some above-average veteran free agents. we should have some very high picks in 21 and 22.

It would really help me if Caserio would
bring in a couple free agents soon that could be starters. Malcolm Butler on a cheap deal would be an example.

2024 / Rebuilding Block 4 After Playoffs / Texans
I've been a fan since my parents moved to Houston after my Dad retired from the US Army in 1969. I was 7 years old and all in on the Houston Oilers. We lost the franchise and gained the Texans. By the way, I entered the Texans contest to name the new Houston NFL Franchise in 2000. I'm not sure but I believe I lost out to the Sea Wolves. The team ended up becoming the Texans. Did the Sea Wolves winner get the free trip to the SB or whatever the prize was?

It sure has been a bumpy road to remain a fan but I'm not going to bail out on this franchise b/c they're in Houston.

Big 3 in NBA has killed the sport for me.

I still pass through this site on rare occasions so my two cents...

The Hindenburg and Titanic had better prospects than this team. Y'all must be glutton's for punishment. I'd rather be flogged for 3 hours than watch this disaster movie on repeat. Very last straw for me was the way they handled DW4. Whatever small amount of Fandom that was left in me drained out of my pinky toe. I'm 100% out which is sad as I poured a lot of time, energy, money, and emotion into this crapfest.

I'm teamless for now. I'm might become a fan of DW4's new team or there are some other teams I like that I may latch my fandom to - KC, Arizona, Denver, GB, and Buff come to mind. I wish I had Sunday Ticket. Makes it hard to follow an out of area team. Oh well. Good luck guys. Maybe in 20 or 30 years, you'll have a decent team.

There have been 12 "Friday the 13th" movies. Eight of them came out after "The Final Chapter." Then there was a TV series.

There have been 10 "Fast & Furious" films made & the franchise has 4 more to fulfill their contract.

People watch some stupid crap. We just choose this stupid crap.

I am still a fan and will watch the games on TV. But I do not get overly emotional over them. I have not spent any money on Texans items the past couple of years and don't plan on spending any in the forseeable future. I use to watch a lot of sports and sports news shows but million-dollar whiny crybabies are just not my thing. And sports news is not about news anymore.

I've been living in Houston since the early 1960s and it's just not possible for me to be a fan of some sports team from another city. My brain doesn't work that way. So for football, it's the Houston team or nothing. It is not even close to becoming nothing yet, as watching (and laughing at) a horrid Houston team is something I have lots of experience with. You think the Texans are bad, they have yet to approach the futility of some of the Oiler seasons.

There is a type of camaraderie among forum members that keeps many of us coming back.

yeah, we all share a common interest in an entertainment medium, but ultimately, it's the conversations and shared ups & downs of being fans that keep us active.

A lot of folks here do not disagree with you. The Texans are a dumpster fire, Watson is a diva, and Cal is a halfwit. The Texans might never amount to much. Who knows?

So it's not some kind of deep faith or belief in the Houston Texans that keeps us going. It's really simple what does: love for pro football and friendship. :friends:

I still wear my shirts and hats that family got me for Christmas..but i don't invest much time in pro sports like i used too. Texans amd rockets are a dumpster fire. Astros are still are going. Just MLB and the way they protected their cash cows but blast the astros have me down on MLB.

guess i miss the old days when the texans stunk and people would talk crap to me in town. Now they jus show apathy in their eyes and keep quiet. Guess I can thank o'brien for that

Last season apathy set it early and only got worse. Still watched every game but it was like watching reruns of joanie loves chachi.

I never gave up hope for the Oilers. Started with my first game in Jeppenson stadium.
Bones Taylor, Bill Peterson, Ed Hughes, resurrecting Lou Rymkus. Disaster in Buffalo. GM mooning fans.
I was a young fool then.
This old fool learned his lesson. I rarely watched last years Texans games. If it isn't entertaining, competitive, I won't watch.
Not that much time left to waste any of it watching something that just aggravates me. Got lot's of grass to mow.
Guess I still have a passing interest, I'm still here reading. Wish the Gamblers had made it.
I admire the posters tenacity here. Just hang in there, maybe someday..............................

Probably the same I've been since 2020. The BoB era let me know that management had no clue what they were doing and ownership is guilty until they prove me wrong. I wasn't excited about watching a substandard team with the same issues that never get addressed. Then they turned the game of football into a political event and that killed the thrill, excitement and love of the game for me. I am no longer emotionally invested in the Texans. My family and I still split the season tickets and will hold our PSLs, but now it's something that is an afterthough and I don't go out of my way to watch. I still love tailgating and being in the parking lot over at NRG, especially on a beautiful day. Still love my Texans fans and Houstonian brothers and sisters. If they start winning, I would imagine my interest would increase somewhat, but I've checked out. Still want them to win, but don't lose any sleep over it and don't prioritize the games over the people or things that I want to do in my life.
