I think this will depend on how much Kelly and Watson open the playbook. Heard and interesting comment during the game. Watson keeps hard copy playbooks from all his previous games. He goes through the binders and pulls out the most successful plays on that weeks team and puts them in the new binder. Brings that information to the coaches for ideas on game planning. Loving that it's all old school and hard copies.

The Texans defense needs to get some takeaways. If Henry is allowed to run roughshod on the defense and they don’t create some turnovers it’s going to be a long day.

Even though I’m not a big fan of BMac, they’re going to miss the big thumper in the middle of the defense. Adams, as good as he looked against Jacksonville is a mismatch for Henry.

To the point of the thread no I don’t think we will win but I don’t think they will get destroyed either. Honestly though I’m giving the team a pass this year as far as expectations go. If they win enough that Miami doesn’t get a top 15 pick I’ll call it a winning season. What can I say, I’m petty.

I was hoping the Titans were pretenders... barely beating bad teams. But they stomped an undefeated team, while missing a lot of players. I fear Henry just running at will against our defense.

I think we show signs of how good we can be but BO'b residue is still all over this team. It will take time to clean it all up. We will compete early but lose by at least two TD's.

The Titans have a weapon at the 2 positions that gives the Texans fits. Henry of course at RB and don't sleep on Jonnu Smith, their TE.

Based on the Titans performance, common sense says we will lose. However, they have a short week, and no matter how good or bad teams are, they always seem to play division opponents hard. Also, can the Titans hang with the pressure of being unbeaten?

My feeling about this game is that the Titans will control the los throughout. The Texans offense will get things going in garbage time to make the score close but the Titans will never be threatened to losing the game.

3.5? I’d give three and a half all week long and twice on Sunday. Unless COVID or major injuries, that line will be at least Titans -5 by Saturday. Betting Tennessee should be heavy today. Almost makes me wish I hadn’t stopped gambling.

I am going to step out on a limb and say yes. We score 30 points in back to back games.
I don’t believe OB being gone cures all the destruction he left. But it does allow the offense to do something it has never done before.
Stop wasting a majority of the offensive plays running it up the middle for little to no gain.

On paper they're supposed to be one of the better defenses, but they haven't been playing like it. Currently 21st in defensive DVOA. Bills were also w/o their top two corners from last season.
But yes, Texans will have difficult time stopping the run.

I hear you about the division games and all that. Titans are even a really short week, but.....this defense of the Texans does not make me feel all warm and fuzzy. I usually get sick to my stomach watching it try to stop the run. I don't think the Titans will drop 42 but it wouldn't surprise me
I'd think the vast majority of people don't think the Texans can put 30 on the board, but that's why I think it can very well happen.
Something weird will be going on. Turnovers, block kick, return for TDs, things like that.

I'm pretty sure the Titans will take this one, most especially if Derek Henry has a good day. But I think the Texans will play better as a whole the rest of the season now that the wicked witch is gone.
The thing is though, if DW4 is having a good day, we can hang with most teams. Just like the Titans with Derek Henry.

If I were betting money I’d take the Titans, but the Texans are a wildcard right now IMO. The previous HC was obviously bringing the team down, but was that negative effect so strong it turned a winning team to a losing team?

Dec 15 2019 Henry ran the ball 21 times for 86 yards.
Sep 2018 Henry ran the ball 18 times for 56 yards.
Yeah, there was that game at the end of last season we weren't trying to win. & we don't have Dj Reader. But we play the Titans pretty well.
Don't forget, they've got one of those Patriot wannabe HC's. Those guys don't ever do well.

Vrabel will either prove that wrong, or at least do better than the other ex Patsie coaches. I think he's already done a better job with the Titans than OB did in his time here. Time will tell on that though.

I'm picking the Titans to win, but here's my reasons to be optimistic for the Texans:
- Titans on short rest.
- Simmons, Davis & Humphries may miss the game? I don't know all the rules w/ the COVID protocol, but hopefully they will be unable to go.
- Taylor Lewan may be out? Haven't heard an update on him.
- Titans defense are the worst at rushing per attempt, giving up 5.5 yards per.
- Titans defense is 6th worst on yards per play at 6.2 (compare to Texans at 5.6)
- And of course, BOB won't be on the sideline
