The Texans will not be signing OT Jordan Mills at this time. Mills was worked out earlier this week. They have not entirely ruled out consideration of trying to sign him in the future if he is still available.

Was the player you said lowest drafted player under Obrien that went to pro bowl an alternate selection?
Yeah , it's financially difficult to cut him next year as it affects that cap year and the next - 2021 Dead Cap: $12.05m 2022 Dead Cap: $3.1m
They could trade him this season with 2020 Dead Cap: $1.55m 2021 Dead Cap: $4.65m .... that is assuming there's an idiot that would take on that contract.

They haven't developed a single player offensively of pro bowl quality not named Watson. Not even an alternate. None of the te, ol, rb, nor wr. Merci used the excuse of Clowney playing same position, yet look at him and he got paid!

While I was never really a fan of Bud - he was just as greedy and meddling as the McNairs - I never doubted his desire to win just for the sake of winning.
I have serious doubt about the McNairs and their desire to win beyond it being more profitable on the P&L statement at the end of the year. I think Bob was serious about winning. I just don't see it in Cal or Mrs. McNair at this point.
And at least there was the entertainment value of an owner like Bud as opposed to the groundhog owner scared of his own shadow we have now.

The McNair's have always cared more about the P&L statement more than the on field product. I remember all of the grief I used to get for saying this, but I'm not in the minority anymore.
Asking a little old lady (Janice) to be like Bud is comical. Even though at Bud's funeral channel 13 interviewed Bob McNair and Bob called Bud one of his mentors. I knew at that time for sure what the Texans org is all about.

I can think of about 25 teams that would jump at the chance to have Watson and maybe 3 that would consider O'Brien as an upgrade.
Don’t want to play with DeShaun I guess. He hasn’t progressed in 6 years.
His twin brother had more to do with that decision than any other factor
