Are you saying he had zero input on talent acquisition’s?Depends on if you think he was the one getting the talent to build the team. Cal's actions say he wasn't the one getting the talent.

I'm saying he made re commendations and the GM and BOB had a dysfunctional relationship from the beginning since BOB was a McNair hire. Are you saying he had zero input on talent acquisition’s?
He had input. Anyone telling you different is full of it and is just making excuses. Here is O'Brien telling you about mistakes he made in the past:Are you saying he had zero input on talent acquisition’s?
O’Brien is so full of ****. Trying to cover for not spending Cal’s money. “You don’t get to know them”. How well does he know Johnson, Cobb, and Cooks? The real issue is that Hopkins knew O’Brien too well.He had input. Anyone telling you different is full of it and is just making excuses. I'll bet it was the other way around !O’Brien is so full of ****. Trying to cover for not spending Cal’s money. “You don’t get to know them”. How well does he know Johnson, Cobb, and Cooks? The real issue is that Hopkins knew O’Brien too well.
The guy is just stupid. Very low IQWarning: Do not attempt to play a drinking game where everyone takes a shot after O'Brien says the word "Zoom." People will die.
If you think you will feel better about this offseason after reading this transcript...you're wrong. If you suffer from hypertension, irritable bowel syndrome, or Tourette's, consult your doctor before reading. On the plus side, you will learn the name of everyone in the Texans organization. Not sure if that's to share the blame for the ensuing failure, or what.
Yet he's an Ivy League graduate. The guy is just stupid. Very low IQ
David Shula was an Ivy League grad. He was far from stupid. Would you want David Shula building YOUR team?Yet he's an Ivy League graduate.
You may disagree with how he's building HIS team, but he's far from stupid.
Nope, and I don't want BOB building my team either. But he's the guy building the team and I'm rooting for him to succeed. Seems as though some posters are rooting for him to fail.David Shula was an Ivy League grad. He was far from stupid. Would you want David Shula building YOUR team?
He is going to fail. That is not up for discussion at this point. He does not seem to possess any of the qualities that make one successful in this profession. He is impulsive and emotional. He has shown zero ability to consider the long term consequences to his short term decision making. And he surrounds himself with yes men because his ego can’t handle it if he’s not the smartest guy in the room.Nope, and I don't want BOB building my team either. BTW, Ivy League graduates generally aren't regarded as stupid.
I think he is based on listening to him speak. But I think he lacks the ability to transfer ideas from paper to the field. He's not a good offensive mind either.
A lot of dumb people get into good schools. And brown is barely ivyYet he's an Ivy League graduate.

In Freud terminology O’Brien has an overactive id. His impulse control is weak. We got a small glimpse of that at halftime of the Miami game. The real mystery is how has he gained the unchallenged confidence of the McNair family? He is going to fail. That is not up for discussion at this point. Despite what others may say, I do believe he has a mind for offensive football. But he has no vision and no leadership skills. And he will never grow or improve because he is not open to new ideas from anyone who could possibly be smarter than him.
Some posters would just prefer he fail now instead of later. The longer he is in charge the bigger the hole will be that we have to climb out of when he is gone.
His only goal is to survive year by year and he will mortgage the future of the franchise to whatever degree is necessary to accomplish that goal.

What's amazing about that is how many terrible moves they were unable to cover because there were so many.PlayerProfiler Fantasy Football Podcast Network on Apple Podcasts

Very depressing.
Yet they are billionairesThe McNairs are some of the few people even dumber than him
Who was the GM when these moves were made? What's amazing about that is how many terrible moves they were unable to cover because there were so many.
-signing Hoyer and mallet (and even extending mallet)
-trading 5 picks for Jaelen Strong and Louis Nix
-letting Brooks, Jones and Duane brown go, replacing them with XSF and Jeff Allen
-signing Osweiler to a massive contract then using a 2nd round pick just to get rid of him instead of cutting him
-winning most division titles thanks to defense, then letting the defense go to crap because he's overpaying for offense
-overhauling the offense every year only to have it look exactly the same
Unfortunately why should he? I don't know of anyone in the Texans org that can "check" him besides Cal and he doesn't seem to be concerned with OB's actions. Cal is seeing 1 losing season in 6 years and the $$$ from a stadium full of season ticket holders plus giving OB the GM title saves more money. As far as OB's offensive mind, I agree he knows what he is talking about regarding an offense. However, he seems to have no situational awareness skills and it prohibits him from making the best possible decisions. He is going to fail. That is not up for discussion at this point. But the entrepreneur/ founder is gone, so the remaining family members are his heirs who probably didn't have much to do with his business success which enabled him to accumulate the resources to buy the franchise.Yet they are billionaires
I've been saying this since 2010.But the entrepreneur/ founder is gone, so the remaining family members are his heirs who probably didn't have much to do with his business success which enabled him to accumulate the resources to buy the franchise.
I dunno but believe at this point the best hope we fans have is for the McNairs to sell the franchise to a person or group who's sincerely interested in the teams success on the field.
Because it's so dang easy to win a Super Bowl. I tell you, microwave ovens & drive throughs are ruining this country.I dunno but believe at this point the best hope we fans have is for the McNairs to sell the franchise to a person or group who's sincerely interested in the teams success on the field.
I would settle for something the Texans have never been. A true contenderBecause it's so dang easy to win a Super Bowl. I tell you, microwave ovens & drive throughs are ruining this country.
Truly think we're closer now than we've ever been. Not to defend that dumass calling the shots, I don't understand anything he's doing.I would settle for something the Texans have never been. A true contender
In my mind, these ideas contradict each other. I mean if you are wealthy by marriage and/or birth and are in the one business that prints money, there are about zero reasons to ever sell. The check could always get big enough, but big here is making Morgana looking like she needs a training bra oversized. But the entrepreneur/ founder is gone, so the remaining family members are his heirs who probably didn't have much to do with his business success which enabled him to accumulate the resources to buy the franchise.

Hopefully you're right.Truly think we're closer now than we've ever been. Not to defend that dumass calling the shots, I don't understand anything he's doing.
If the Texans can get the defense back to respectable (hopefully health will be better this year), imo not that far away if Kelly truly calls the plays as is reported he did in the Atlanta gameHopefully you're right.
Why do you think they're closer than ever?
They're still a long way away from the Chiefs.
It's going to sound dumb. But we're winning for no good reason. Ain't got no defense, ain't got no offense. Why do you think they're closer than ever?
Cant be coachingIt's going to sound dumb. But we're winning for no good reason. Ain't got no defense, ain't got no offense.
I used to hope the other team would have some major injury to deal with, but that hadn't been necessary either.
Personally I believe it's Watson, but I know it's more than that.
Fk KC
I'm willing to accept coaching is part of it, maybe even a big part of it. So far no one has been able to make a good case for it.Cant be coaching

Wow... you made it to the end? Respect.... reminds me of the last line of Bohemian Rhapsody ....
Sorry, I thought you meant the movie. The song is cool as hellI heard it one of the first times ever played on KILT .... standing in a Dodge garage .... and said .... "That's a serious composition .... it'll be a classic." I only shared that because I'm not often right !
