Lol I know it was never gonna happen...I’m just saying his ass should be humble enough at this point to see that maybe he isn’t worth what he thinks he is & maybe change his outlook on ****...ala Vernon Davis after Singletary got in his ass.
His outlook changes?

LMAO.

Clowney must quit sniffing the ether b/c his play on the field in no way suggests that he's the top EDGE in the game. Him and his agent are believing the hype and not looking at the reality. Personally, I see Clowney as a 15M to 16M a season type of player who's relying on teams to be sniffing the same ether when offering him a contract. The longer Clowney waits to find the end of the rainbow the bigger the chances of the sky clearing and he has to settle for a deal far below his expectations. It'll be interesting to see where his situation goes and with whom.

Giants Rumors: Jadeveon Clowney's Injury History Makes NY 'Wary' of Big Contract
PAUL KASABIANAPRIL 2, 202018

Prized free-agent edge-rusher Jadeveon Clowney is still looking for an NFL home in 2020, and the New York Giants have been one of the teams connected to the three-time Pro Bowler.

However, SNY.tv's Ralph Vacchiano reported Thursday the Giants are unlikely to pay the big bucks needed to land him due to his injury history.

"Many teams—the Giants included, per sources—are very wary of making a big-money commitment to a player with that kind of injury history. Presumably that has factored into the Jets' thinking as well.

Clowney suffered a torn meniscus in 2014 and underwent microfracture surgery, missing 12 games during his rookie year with the Houston Texans.

The ex-South Carolina star played through a core muscle injury in 2019 that required surgery after the season, but he's only missed nine games in his last five campaigns overall for the Texans and Seattle Seahawks, who acquired him via trade before last season. He finished with 31 tackles and three sacks for the 'Hawks.

****************************
And this is omitting several other surgeries he has undergone along with numerous other significant injuries besides those mentioned in the article.

“But, but he had all the leverage!”...
If he wanted to get paid he should've gone to Miami.

I'm enjoying rubbernecking the car wreck that's Clowney's 1st trip in FA. He thought he was screwing the Texans (He did) but he screwed himself even worse. Genius, LMAO

Atleast Nuk was smart enough to take a losing orgs $$$$ since getting paid was his 1st priority and things appear to be working out well for him.

He never demanded a trade or threatened a hold out that I've heard that's been made public. He asked for a raise and was shown the door, per BOB's words. Has to be more to the story. How's it working out for him? Trade isn't even done yet and there's only been "talks" between Hopkins and the Cardinals front office.

Thing is in the world we live in today he ain't gonna get paid that much.

No org is going to pay him without looking at his medical records or giving him a physical. I'll bet you after they get a look at those Clowney makes 13-15 mil on a short 1 or 2 yr deal. He got some terrible advice from somebody. Seahawks have already moved on.

“appear” is the correct term there. I have serious misgivings that Nuk is gonna get the raise he thinks he’s gonna get too. Arizona’s cap situation is trash right now even with them unloading Johnson. Then u have Patrick Peterson - 2020 is the last year of his deal. Even if they franchise him for 2021 it’s gonna cost them....Slay and Jones just got 16 per. Chandler Jones is owed 20 & 21 million for this year and next...they’ll have to make a decision on him he’ll probably get restructured or shipped out.....& they just franchised Drake who will be looking to get paid after this year. Kirk will be coming due in 2021.

May not be in their best interest to give him an extra 5 mil a year either.

The Hawks have not officially moved on entirely. But with Griffen in the mix, they are thought not to be looking to pay anymore than $13-15 million. The Jets have already walked away. The Titans who showed some interest are unlikely to be able to fit him under the cap after they signed OLB Vic Beasley for $9 milliion.

It wont be, but they will, why? because they are the Bidwell owned Cards. They will go for flash over substance.

Clowney will end up getting a prove it deal at like 9-10mil. And then probably be a FA again. He is money hungry and is far from a Watt, Mack, Donald and a few others. Too bad we didn't draft Mack. He would still be here and combined with Watt... that would be a great combo. Be it Mack as a DE or OLB

Report: NFL’s contingency plans include shortened season, empty stadiums
April 15, 2020, 7:56 PM EDT

The NFL’s official position is that it’s planning to play a full season in full stadiums. It’s unofficial position is far more pragmatic.

According to the Washington Post, the NFL’s contingency plans include a shortened schedule and playing games in empty or partially empty stadiums.

“As we have said, we are committed to protecting the health of our fans, players, club and league personnel, and communities,” the NFL said in a statement issued to the Post. “We look forward to the 2020 NFL season, and our guidelines and decisions will be guided by the latest advice from medical and public health officials, as well as current and future government regulations. We will continue to plan for the season and will be prepared to adjust as necessary, just as we have done with free agency, the draft, and now the offseason program.”

Beneath that thin patina of confidence, the NFL is planning for playing without fans at all to playing with some fans to playing fewer games.

As a result, the NFL’s schedule — which will be released by May 9 — is being structured to provide maximum flexibility.

NFL Insider Gives Telling Description on Jadeveon Clowney’s Attitude

The Seattle Seahawks took the high road in their first public comments about Jadeveon Clowney refusing to shut the door on a potential return. Things may be a bit more contentious than the Seahawks are letting on. Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline reported that Clowney was “uncooperative” with the Seahawks when they attempted to re-sign the pass rusher.

“He’s been his own worst enemy,” Pauline said on Nashville’s 1045 the Zone. “The Seattle Seahawks tried to reach out to him about bringing him back. I’m told he was very uncooperative with the Seahawks. He started off with a ridiculous sum of money that he wanted. He has come down on that.”

Pauline added that Clowney’s asking price is now down to $13 million annually. Heading into the offseason, multiple reports indicated Clowney was seeking a salary of more than $20 million.

“ESPN reported $17 million a year, I’m told from within his inner circle it is down to $13 million a year,” Pauline continued. “The fact is this, I think Clowney has been his own worst enemy. There are teams concerned about his medicals. There are people concerned that once he signs a huge contract, he’s basically not going to play. He’s going to turn it off because he is going to have all this guaranteed money. As someone within his inner circle told me, he’s just a different type of person and there are a lot of teams who don’t want to put up with that in the locker room.”

The Daft wasn’t exactly brimming with edge rushers, which could play to Clowney’s advantage. While teams like the Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers appeared to address that concern, not a ton of teams got significantly better at rushing the pass rusher after the past three days.

Bleacher Report identified four teams that could be in the market for Clowney now that the draft is over. Writer Paul Kasabian named the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks in his latest piece.

Cap space is an important factor to consider, and the first three teams Kasabian named have that in abundance. Per OverTheCap, Cleveland, Indianapolis and Tennessee all have over $20 million in cap space left.
Seattle is the only one of the four who don’t look like they can afford Clowney, who is reportedly seeking between $17-18 million per year with a new team.

According to this guy JDC is most likely to return to the AFC South with a team not based in Houston, Tx.
And don't you just know that Clowney would love to stick it to O'Brien not just once but twice a year.

He is just an idiot plain and simple.

Exhibit A.) He is a massive douche who have never been liked in a locker room BY THE MAJORITY of the team. He still fails to understand that synergy in a locker room is necessary and often times teams looks for a veteran presence to teach the youngsters how to be pros. No Owner in their right mind wants a a guy like this viewed as a mentor.

Exhibit B.) He wildly overestimates his worth. He wants AT LEAST 13+ million a year for never having 10 sacks a year. His production is nothing more than a barely average player. He defends the run well in fairness but so do a lot of guys who don’t want the money he does.

Exhibit C.) He fails to realize his injury history will prevent teams from wanting to sign a bunch a guaranteed money. He is completely delusional to the summof his production.

million dollar potential ten cent head and nickel capitalization.

I agree with you, for the most part. He wreaks havoc against the run and disrupts plays. He does things that don't show up in the stat sheet. And I did not want to pay him big bucks on a long term contract. If he would sign for $8-10 mil a year on an incentive heavy contract, I would consider having him back, even though he would probably never play for Houston again and would not sign for under $10 mil/year.

Titans, Seahawks Still Interested In Jadeveon Clowney
May 1st, 2020 at 9:31am CST by Zach Links

The Titans and Seahawks are still interested in edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney, Dianna Russini of ESPN.com tweets. Clowney’s asking price and sense of urgency haven’t changed either. Despite multiple offers from both clubs, Clowney isn’t close with either team and he isn’t in a rush to put pen to paper.

For now, Clowney’s plan is to wait until the pandemic eases up so that he can take a physical with interested teams, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com tweets. A passed (and thorough) physical with team doctors would give Clowney the best payday, he believes, though he could also lose out on available spots and dollars by waiting.

Reunion between Jadeveon Clowney, Seahawks not likely

2:21 PM CT
Brady HendersonESPN

While Jadeveon Clowney remains open to re-signing with the Seattle Seahawks, the defensive end would have to take significantly less money than what the team previously offered him in order for a reunion to happen, a league source told ESPN.

The Seahawks have not shut the door on re-signing Clowney, but it's not considered likely in part because of their financial situation and the amount of money the free-agent defensive end has been seeking.

General manager John Schneider has hinted at that unlikeliness in recent public comments, in which he's spoken in the past tense about the Seahawks' efforts to re-sign Clowney.

"We took a good run at it," Schneider told KJR-AM last week. "It didn't happen. He's a great guy. He fit in great in the locker room, did a really nice job for us, but we need to be conducting business, and he just was not in a position to make a move. So we gave it a run and now you've got to keep going, and that's what we've done."

I don't think it would be the end of the world if the Texans kicked the Clowney tires. He's not going to get the money he thinks he deserves until he has a banner and healthy season.

Clowney's very best season as a Texan happened when he replaced Watt at Watt's DE position. This is truly Clowney's best position.

I would offer Clowney a solid but fair 2 year contract that is guaranteed for a season. The contract would be loaded with performance bonuses. He would know from his first day back that he would be the DE opposite Watt whether the Texans are in a 3-Man or 4-Man front.

DE- Clowney
DT- Vanderdoes
DE- Watt

DE- Clowney
DT- Vanderdoes
DT- Blacklock
DE- Watt

I wouldn't be crying in my beer over this optional 3 and 4 man fronts.
