You're assuming that they had a chance to move up to #10 AND they new that KC (or someone) was going to jump up there. Mahomes was projected to go late first at best

I certainly didn't complain back then and wont gloat this time. Everybody knows my history when it comes to QB's. I dont need to gloat the facts speak for themselves.

It seemed OB was sold on Mahomes and maybe RS was sold on Watson. I wonder if OB ever approached RS about possibly trading up for Mahomes and RS shot this down knowing he may make the move for Watson instead. Watson was projected late RD1 which to this day I think the Texans could've stood pat and got him in their position. If the Texans became worried that another team would make the jump to draft Watson....then it only makes sense that the Texans must've heard rumblings that a team was making a move to draft Mahomes. In the end, it was RS's call and I think he justified his move to get his guy, Watson.

I think Mahomes will be ready to give Reid his first Lombardi Trophy and secure Reid's spot in the HoF.

I assumed it went the way most trades go down. The GM & HC discussed the need to trade up to get their guy. They decided what they were willing to give up & calculated how far that would get them.

Maybe they planned to get Mahomes if he dropped out of the top 10 & had agreed the 12th spot would be as high as they were willing to go.

When the Bears took Trubisky they "knew" they were going to have their pick of Mahomes & Watson. Mahomes being their choice.

But when Mahomes was taken they decided to trade up & get Watson. Just like they decided to stay put when the Cardinals picked Peterson & they selected Watt.
