Trent Williams LT Available

This story has been refuted by multiple sources. NE didn't offer a one. Please stop citing this as fact.
1. I never cited it as a fact. Actually, whenever I referenced it here, I did so as the polar opposite of stating it as a fact. Every single time, with no exceptions, I preconditioned with the word allegedly regarding the multiple reports of the skins receiving a first round pick offer from NE. So you're wrong there.

2. What makes the reports you're choosing to believe more believable than the original reports? Stop citing them as fact. I don't know which one is true. And you don't either. That's why I said allegedly every time. The initial report came from washington area sports radio host Kevin Sheehan @kevinsheehanDC , who I listen to daily, who spoke of the refuted reports that you are referring to from the national reporters including Ian Rappoport. Sheehan has a couple of close sources inside Redskins Park, has not backed down from his original report. In fact, at the time Sheehan released his report, he said it WOULD BE REFUTED by both teams if not agreed upon. and no local reporter ever refuted the original report only some national guys like Rappoport. A second local reporter JP Finlay also had the same report as Sheehan. so, who knows. I dont know. THe only person I *do* know is Kevin Sheehan. And his track record, quite frankly, with breaking redskins news is better than Ian Rapoport's.

And now the Pats make another trade with the Ravens for one of their Olineman.

They refuse to go into this season without a top Oline. I wish the Texans had the same attitude.

If you want to see the Texans make moves to improve the O-line... they make moves. In the past two years, they signed four FAs (Kelemete, Fulton, Henderson, Kahlil). The drafted three guys (Rankin, Howard, Scharping). They are making moves to improve the OL.

Are they the right moves? Now that's debatable. But you can't claim the Texans don't make moves.

Yep. Their biggest mistake is not hiring a new OL coach.

After getting blasted 34-0 by the Cowboys they need to make more. Until the clean up the Oline problem they may need to make moves every week for all I care. I know the Pats had similar holes and they filled them fast.

Meanwhile The Patriots are out there making moves the minute their Center goes down with blood clots. Two days later they are bringing in reinforcements. Same thing they did last season when Wynn went down and they went out and got Brown from San Fran.

This is what GM's do guys. :) (Owned the Texans again)
They need a Center... bring in a Tackle.

BO'bs got that one down pat.

Is that how you read what I said?

"I think people want to know the Texans tried. If they didn't/don't even make an offer knowing Williams is disgruntled, how can we expect them to be actively pursuing trade deals to make this team better?"

How do you read it?

I think the fans want to know. Just like you quoted.

Nowhere did I say the Texans should broadcast every offer they make. Which is what you asserted.

I do know that. I also know whatever guy they had to play that year at Lt was better then Matt Kalil.

Does it matter? I would think whatever is best for young 'bama state long term would be the goal. May take us a while to get the LT we want, but at least we'll end up with a LT. (Ignoring the Devlin thing for now).

We can put him out there now, maybe he'll flourish, I don't know. But odds are against it. Alabama State. Not bama... not roll tide. Alabama State. That's like Blinn.

OK so how are the fans going to know? By visiting the TT message board?

No biggie TK carry on.

:coffee:

In the context it was written I think it made sense.

Think that's the part people keep forgetting. Williams has at no point been available and for those saying that "If Texans made a good enough offer Washington would take it."

I think people want to know the Texans tried.

In other words I'm saying don't make more of this (thread) than what it is. Fans want to know something is happening. It's in our nature.

I understand your point. Mine is about doing anything possible for Watson before we Carr(wreck) his career.

Understand, howard at tackle now is not the same tackle he could've been if we worked him there from the start.

I have a feeling he'll be our Lt by week 4 anyway.

After reading your post in the state of the oline thread I think we're on the same page.

Where are all the folks that thought Clowney had all of this high value?

I don't hear a single one of you now. :spit:
To be fair the only teams opinion about Clowney's value that matters are the ones that 1. want him 2. have the cap space to get him and increase his contract going forward and 3 have the trade package to offer in compensation. No one else 's opinion matters.

Then just by what we see and know that number of teams is 0.

You forgot 4) A team that Clowney wants to go to if he decides to hold off on signing his tender

I hope we are still in play for him. Perhaps Washington will be more willing after three or four games of the regular season without Williams on the field?

Should have said interested. I think we definitely are. I don't see the Redskins allow him to sit out the whole year.
