Day 3 Targets

What is up with Kelvin Harmon? Teams are avoiding him. Must be an issue some where.
Emanuel Hall also still on the board. Both have great size and are 6'2" and around 215.
Texans need WR help in case...

Beat Safeties left are Jaquan Johnson and Mike Bell. Bell has intriguing size.
Rodney Anderson is best RB on board.
Kris Boyd CB still on board.

Question is with 2 picks left. What need fails to get addressed?

WR, RB, Safety are all still needs.

Have to take into account what players left on the board can be ST contributors and have a shot at their position of making opening day roster. Also, possible UDFAs at position. And free agents waiting for the draft to play out before selecting a place to play. Tre Boston for example would be a really nice 3rd safety.

RB, Bruce Anderson- North Dakota State

WR, Jazz Ferguson- Northwester State University (LA). 6-5 @ 228 lbs / 34.5" Arms / 9.25" Hands / 4.45-40 / Physical WR who attacks CB's. I like him as a potential weapon in this offense. He's got late speed which could be used when Watson breaks out of the pocket.

Raiders got the tandem I wanted the Texans to have......Trayvon Mullen and Isaiah Johnson! Damn the Raiders!!!!!

Going off NFL.com's board, only Renfrow and Gary Jennings were the only WRs rated below Harmon (21st WR) that have been taken. Hall (ranked #12 WR) is the highest rated WR left on their board.

Looking at the players still available in the DB groups i'm liking the CB options more than safeties. One name to keep an eye on:

Ka'dar Hollman CB Toledo. Texans worked him out and went to his pro day. Fits Texans height/weight/speed profile. 6' 196 at his pro day 4.39-second 40-yard dash, 38-inch vertical and 6.81 3-cone. Allowed just 40 percent completion rate in 2018.
Aggressive competitive CB who is a good tackler and has traits you can develop into something higher than a 6th or 7th round draft slotting as well as contribute on ST which every prospect on Texans board at this point will need to do.

EDIT:
AAAANND I jinxed it. Just went 186 to Packers.

Has to be issues else they'd have been snapped up by now.
Both have Andre's measurables.

Gone

Both Trayveon Williams and my backup pick Ty Johnson off the board. Don't see any explosive RBs left. There is a Alfred Blue replacent left in K-State RB Alex Barnes. Can run inside, catch out of the backfield, pickup the blitz, and help on coverage teams.

I don't see much value left at RB. Better value at WR and CB left on the board.

Travis Homer is Texan worthy.

I’ve heard his name, but don’t know much about him.

He’s known as a press cover cornerback, “ferocious tackler who can lay the wood.” Some say he’s got a screw loose. Probably will be a ST standout and convert to safety. He’s big and loves getting his nose into the run game.

Xavier Crawford CB Central Michigan 5’11” 187 lbs 4.48 40 37 ½” vertical

Team has shown an interest using one of their 30 private visits on him. Allowed under 40% completion rate this year (a shame the only good part about this team were its CBs). Improved 40 time to 4.40 at pro day and very fluid hips and agility. Crawford is a pest on the underneath routes but can be beaten deep especially against the bigger faster NFL WRs and for that reason I project him as a nickel in the NFL.

Don't know why you wouldn't take a flyer on Harmon or Hall here.
Could easily be #2 receiver on our team if they work out.

What site was this report from?

With the last pick, I hope we target S, RB, or WR.

Worthington- S
Grant- S
Ozigbe- RB
R. Anderson- RB (yep I’d take a flier on him even with his injury history)
B. Anderson- RB
Harmon- WR (can’t believe he’s fallen this far)
Doss- WR
Morgan Jr- WR

Whelp, at least they addressed their weakest positions this draft.
May yet be good value in the 7th and Undrafteds.
Two I have my eye on are Terronne Prescod G and Joe Lowery T. Both rated on PFFs top 100 for the 2018 season.
If Beau Benschawel is there for our 7th, I'll be pissed if they don't take him. Coulda taken him with the 6th dammit.
Ranked inside PFFs top 50.
It's about value at this point.

I just heard Todd McShay talking about the Crawford pick and McShay said "inconsistent getting off blocks in the run game"

Lemme just say, I'm on tape #2 and there is no inconsistency getting off blocks...he doesn't .

If he finds time on the field it will be on ST or passing downs. He is very good in man coverage .

Ran a 4.38 at his pro day. Speedy and quick twitch. I can see him coming in on 3rd and long and being an asset.

What hurts these guys is that if they can't contribute on special teams, it will be difficult to be on the active roster. You have to have a role. A #4 or 5 WR that can't play on special teams is a hard fit on a roster.

I see what you are saying but a lot of other WR's have gone off the board before these two.

True, but a lot of those guys can help on special teams or can fill a role in the slot. Only 10 WRs on Day 3, which is low. Expect a run before the end of the draft.

Man, Seattle is loading up on some nice defensive guys. Just got Demarcus Christmas as a late 6th compensatory.
