I was thinking the same thing. He's likely to be released if he's on the trading block.
I'd wait. I don't think he's a guy that you'd project well enough to trade assets for him based on his current contract structure.
Are we not in reasonably good shape at guard with Fulton & Rankin @ right & left guard respectively as expected starters this Fall ? It's the tackle positions that we've really got to upgrade.
7 years experience, 1.27 pick by Bengals, last 2 with Browns. No probowls. 6'4" 315 lbs. 29 in 2 days.
3 years remaining @ $10, $10 & $12 mil if traded.

Yep - if he can make holes for our RB's then sign me up - er, him up.You're probably right. But after seeing the OL the last 2 yrs I'm on board with just about anything that will improve the OL and Zietler would certainly be an upgrade. It would be worth a 3rd to me.

Texans just saved almost 10mil by cutting K.Johnson a non contributory player turn that money into a player of need with a strong history. You're probably right. If you could get Zeitler for a 3rd round pick then how do you not do it? What OL are you going to draft in the 3rd round that is better?
I won't deny that that's a consideration but my thought is with his multiple years of experience as an SEC left tackle I like his chances of being successfulHow are we in good shape projecting Rankin to a position he has never significantly played?
