Houston Texans 2018 Playoff Thread

Honestly, a great job after starting 0-3 on the back of a poor 2017...

:wow:
Good thing we played that weak ass schedule. Bravo Texans. Cant wait till next year. Big boy football coming.

This year was the cycle, last place teams just up and win the division. It's by design. See the bears.

Now back to back 10 win seasons. That's thread worthy. Not being as ass but we all know

Weak? Name four weak opponents we played this season.
The weak schedule myth should be exposed.

AFC east and NFC east. Duh.

Do you not know how the schedule rotation works. It worked in our favor and we drew two weak divisions
Its nfl science. Next year won't be the same. 10 wins next year will be dope.

So right now we get indi in playoffs?

Steelers not making the playoffs would be so awesome. Bell wasn't worth the cash lol

AFC E - I'll give you Bills and Jets but not Pats or Miami - who we beat 42-23.
NFC E - if you think that is a weak division, you are dreaming. We beat Dallas who leads that division and the "skins as well and barely lost to the reigning SB champs.

So looking like we will have to play titans or colts first round? Ehh I don’t feel well.

Not only that if we lose to Jags we will blow division and play on the road wild card weekend. Thats rich especially when playoff payments will be due the 27th. Season ticket holders could be paying their next season deposit masked as a playoff payment.

Not to mention the division One of the Colts or the Titans was will wind up 10-6...the other will be 9-7... hardly pushovers.

There are certain posters here who make dumb statements without doing their actual research.

The difference between a first and last place schedule is only two games that are different. It isn't that big a deal.

Brady has started looking mortal with weaknesses. Gronk injury prone.

I am not fearing them as much as in the past.

Baltimore and San Diego look dangerous.

KC will be a shootout, and we have a far superior defense.

It will be interesting.

Baltimore is downright scary with that defense + Jackson... what I wish the Texans could be

Likely scenarios: if we beat Jags, it's home against Colts/Titans, followed by a road trip to NE. Lose and it's away to Baltimore followed by a road trip to KC.

I might actually prefer a road trip to Baltimore to a game against the Colts. BOB will never sanction putting enough points on the board to counter the late game Andrew Luck charge which inevitably happens. Colts will win it with the last possession as usual. Baltimore know less about us and it's a game we have a decent chance in.

I definitely prefer us at home to the Titans though, if they pull off a win against Indy, the victory against the Jags is a must.

Ravens fans will definitely be rooting for the Jags, that game has huge implications to them. Home to us if the jags win or on the road to the chargers if we win.

Think we agree, my order of preference:
Jets win and we win, bye. Aint gonna happen
So, prefer Titans at home, we have proven we can handle the Titans pretty well
Roadie to Titans could happen if we lose and they win, and Baltimore loses
Roadie to Baltimore, I think our defense is better at stopping the run, and we should be able to get some points, their defense is elite though
Colts at home. Andrew and Ty will continue to fluff their stats, think we lose. I also think this is most likely matchup

We are in the dance. That's all you can ask. Credit to OBrien and his staff for keeping things afloat and winning games regardless of personal preferences they were wins.

It's all about magic. I like the talent on the team. Everyone is beat to **** this time of the year. Good thing is we don't get blown out and have learned how to win close games. Now comes the part where we beat other contenders.

I have faith our guys will show up and make it fun.

Id even throw the Jets in the conversation, they are playing better. They will give the Pats all they want next week.

Out of all the possibilities, the Titans in NRG is the best.

OB and the team cannot piss around next week against the jags. Stick a fork in them and roast until burnt to a crisp. Not medium, not well done, but burnt beyond recognition. Losing yesterday in that way did not feel good. They can say they want to go 1-0 and all that every week but they know they had a few chances to wrap this division up already and squandered it each time. No more.

I agree we have a better shot if Titans win that game next week.
Man I hope some of BO'bs hard headed... I mean toughness rubs off on the fans.

Yeah the Colts punched us in the mouth. Kicked sand in our face. Took our girl.

But let them try that sht again....

I got something for 'em.

They just dominated the Chargers. I think they feel good either way

Do we? If Nick Foles can get almost 500 yards on them Mahomes probably gets 750. Elite speed at WR, huge Texans problem, elite TE, even bigger Texans problem.
Compared to their defense - yes. That’s what I was trying to say.

Now that you remind me of that position called a tight end, I need to do some rethinking.

Interesting that there was a claim of bad wins early in the year, and here we sit with S.O.V. as a tie breaker in our advantage in several scenarios.
At a quick glance the Chiefs had a pretty tough schedule as did the Vikings.

The Titans ended up playing two playoff teams we didn’t - the Ravens and Chargers.

Texans got to play Denver and Cleveland. Colts got to play Bengals and Raiders.

Outside of that the only playoffs teams we have played are the Patriots and Cowboys. Teams that are in the hunt are Eagles.

We just haven’t played many teams that are in the playoff conversation. Are the Redskins and Denver tough teams? I will give you that. Playoff teams? No. Then you have Dolphins, Bills, Giants...

Our season would have been a lot different had we played the Chargers and Ravens. We probably wouldn’t be talking playoffs.

When we played the Redskins they were a playoff team... and they may still have been if Smith hadn't gotten hurt during our game against them, what QB are they playing now, a season ticket holder from Section 300?

There is a way we either will be playing Steelers, Titans, or Colts at home.

There is also a way we could play at Baltimore, or Tennessee, or Indianapolis.
