Jeff Allen and his injury have been released from the Texans with an injury settlement.
I've emphasized that besides his position change, the 2017 season has been a catastrophic injury year for him. At the beginning of the year, he sustained a high ankle sprain........an injury that he never got over. He then suffered a compensatory knee injury the 1st week of Nov, which was overshadowed by a significant hand injury in the 2nd week in Nov........again injuries that followed him and affected the remainder of his season. If that wasn't enough, he suffered a significant concussion mid Dec...........an injury that kept him from participating in any football activities until the end of the season...........an injury that deflected the still ongoing effects of all the other 3 injuries. The injury settlement mostly resulted from the long-term high ankle sprain.
In early 2016, he also dealt with a long-term severe calf tear which affected the entire season and led to a compensatory knee issue shortly after the initial tear. Two significant concussions topped the 2016 season, 1 in OCT, 1 in Dec. A significant high ankle sprain, compensatory to his season-long calf tear issue, occurred the beginning of Jan 2017. At the end of the 2016 season, he underwent a "minor" ankle surgery, which obviously did not positively affect his high ankle condition or his performance in 2017.
