“Well, again, the whole draft need thing is — I don’t really understand that,” Belichick said. “You put a card up on the board. That doesn’t mean the guy is a good player. I think it’s important to acquire good players wherever they are. If you take a player at a position that you might so called “need” but he’s not good enough to fill that need, then it’s a wasted pick. So, I don’t understand the whole need thing. I understand player value, and that’s what we try to go by.”
I understand what he's saying, but there's no doubt that he's aiming to fill needs at the same time. A great pick at a position that you're stacked 3 deep at is just as wasted.Just draft philosophy from the NE Head Caoch

• There will be some trades in this draft that might seem one-sided. Several team officials told me in the past few days that they value Day 2 picks (rounds two and three) so highly that they’d be willing to take slightly less in compensation to move down. Where could this come into play? Cleveland (four), Indianapolis (six), Baltimore (16), Seattle (18), New England (23, 31), New Orleans (27), Philadelphia (32). “This is not your typical draft,” said one veteran club official Sunday. “The second, third and even fourth rounds are gold. You can take less than the trade-value chart says and still make a very good trade if you get multiple picks in those rounds.”
somebody find out who he's throwing to. Dude caught every ball and caught them with his hands away from his bodyMobile, pretty strong arm and pretty good accuracy and has promise............and should be available for us if we're interested as a type of QB that at some point in time could backup Watson.
Alex McGough, QB, Florida International![]()
Height: 6-2. Weight: 220.
Projected 40 Time: 4.74.
Projected Round (2018): 6-FA.
3/10/18: McGough has some arm talent and is athletically gifted. In 2017, he completed 65 percent of his passes for 2,798 yards with 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Unfortunately, McGough broke his collarbone in the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl. That injury prevented playing in an all-star game and could restrict his pre-draft workouts. McGough completed 58 percent of his passes in 2016 for 1,891 yards with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. As a sophomore, he completed 64 percent of his passes for 2,722 yards with 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
..............................
FYI, he broke his LEFT collar bone. He is a righty. Should not have any long-term throwing implications
..............................
Mike Mayock's top 100 just came out. Tyler Conklin and Chris Herndon broke the top 100 but no Ian Thomas or Dalton Schultz!

I thought I wouldn’t watch round 1 today, but hear I sit, glued to the tv. I’ve always enjoyed the draft

What network of the 3 are you watching? (NFL, ESPN, FOX)? I'm giving Fox a shot first.I thought I wouldn’t watch round 1 today, but hear I sit, glued to the tv. I’ve always enjoyed the draft

Yes. I’m not a fan of Guards in the top 10. They should have gone defense. Are we happy with the colts pick?
Solid pick for sureAre we happy with the colts pick?
This is true as well. Guess they trying to correct the wrongs of previous GMYes. I’m not a fan of Guards in the top 10. They should have gone defense.

I look at value. The difference you see in Nelson versus an interior lineman in the 2nd is smaller than a defender they could have taken at #6 and one taken in the 2nd.I don't believe in drafting guards supper high either but...
With lucks health, the jags front and ours, it was a good move I think.

Nope. Marcus Davenport. Probably a better pick for winning now.Did the Saints just trade up for Lamar Jackson?

I would have rather Colts had Denzel Ward than Nelson or Chubb... but they were getting a stud at that pick regardless.
WR Martavis Bryant traded from Steelers for pick # 75 to Raiders; wonder how that might effect our # 80?
4 QBs top 10 picks. Push some players down please....+
Not sure it’s going to make any difference to Rd3...
