Which off-season moves would you like the Texans to make? (Roster/FA)

I was hoping for more than we got, but at least we got something. These free agent o-lineman we signed aren't great or anything, but they can't possibly be as bad as the ones we had playing last season. That in itself is an improvement. I'm sure though we're gonna quibble over just how much an improvement it is.

In what world does 'against police brutality' translate into 'commie?'

Let me enlighten you or refresh your memory -

If kap is the best backup qb available then I say get him. It's a business.

It's usually not good business to piss off a high percentage of your paying customers by hiring a fanatical left-wing moron. Maybe it is in Cuba. I would welcome him sailing into shark infested waters off of Miami to reach his nirvana like so many do in the opposite direction.

I am optimistic about the additions to the oline and hope it plays out well on the field. Two years ago it didn't work out so well when we acquired two new olinemen in FA. Like the CB signing. Hopefully we continue to improve the defensive backfield. Anxious to see who else they add as we get deeper into free agency.

The point is moot. Unless an NFL owner takes complete leave of absence of his senses, Kaep is done. Why do we keep discussing this moron. He's going to be lucky if he gets a job flipping burgers at McDonalds. End of discussion.

Lol, not a whiff of support of communism.

Only a simpleton looking to criticize would see a black man wearing a Malcolm X & Castro t-shirt and think the point was about Castro.

You'd have been a lot closer calling Kaep a Muslim.

Ya it was TOTAL coincidence that he wore a shirt with Castro all over it while discussing oppression of blacks by police. I'm sure the irony never even crossed his mind. Please.

And in prose one is allowed a bit of hyperbole to make a point.

You should try it sometime. :)

Not to make this another "Kaep"-thread, but: this thing is completely blown out of proportion. Kaep isn't some big activist with communist ideas. I imagine he is a rather simple minded man - he saw police brutality against other blacks, got pissed off, a veteran suggested to him to kneel during the anthem and he did. He didnt make a big thing out of it, at first no one noticed it. He is not trying to overthrow the state and bring communism to the United States.

You may disagree with him using the anthem to protest - you even may be pissed of by it. In the end it is a low key and completely nonviolent way of protesting. And he may have said a lot of stupid things - like a lot of athletes have before.

For comparison - all the wife beaters, gang affiliates, juicer cheaters or even dog killers usually get a second chance, or even a third. And that's way worse than a nonviolent protest.

Kaepernick was instrumentalised - by both the left and the right. I doubt he was even aware of that. In the end he is probably still a top 30 QB in the league - and he would come cheap. I don't know if the circus would be worth it - but from a sports perspective, having him as a backup makes a ton of sense.

Would anyone be interested in Tank Carradine? 6'4, 295, 35 inch arms, etc. Could be DE depth especially with Watt trying to stay healthy all year.

From Aaron Wilson’s twitter... Jo Jo gave us a discount:

Johnathan Joseph two years $10 million, $3.9M gtd, salaries $2.4M (gtd), $2.9M; $1.5M March 19 2018 roster bonus, $100K per game active roster bonus annual, $50K workout base de-escalator clause

That’s a really nice contract. Glad to have him back!

Yay another thread getting derailed by idiots and their politics .. great.

CAN THEY PLAY FOOTBALL?!?! that's the only thing that matters .. keep your stupid ass 'ideals' and 'patriotism' out of a football forum or go to Reddit or Voat where the rest of these 'offended' Patriots (cough racists cough) hang out.

Raiders release Michael Crabtree (WR)

Native Texan, good hands, will turn 31 this year...I don't think he ever relied on speed to get separation.

He's money in the red zone. Just make sure he tucks his gold chains lol

I'm glad we are keeping JaJo...He's been a real team player and think he should retire a texan.

This is exactly why Kaep can’t/won’t come here. Too political. It’s not a question of skill. It’s a question of how ape **** nuts Houstonians, not so much fans on or off this message board, but so many fair weather fans would be all up in arms with sand in their vagina with a political argument. I am looking at you soccer moms who boycotted Target because someone asked you to breastfeed your baby somewhere else and you all showed up in unison with a boob out in a babies mouth. Or those guys who are still searching for Obama’s birth certificate. Or those people who were in line at a concession getting food or walking into the stadium as the anthem was playing and all of a sudden they are Mr Patriotic.

You all know those people. You all know how stupid it would get.

Let’s just take this one for the team. Literally.

So - did we sign Honeybadger yet?

Well this thread is is moving in the wrong direction. :D

In this world turned upside down and right side up.......... Justice is really the only thing that matters now.

Any ways....................... where my Honey Badger Gaine???????????

Nope. Guys like Aaron Hernandez or Greg Hardy prove otherwise.

I don’t want a guy like Kaep. Someone that can play football, but question his motives. Will his top priority be football? Or addressing social issues? Prefer not to take that risk or set of distractions that come with him.

So Kaepernick is like a murderer? Are you ******* serious? Kaepernick beat his wife into a coma like Hardy? Your comparison is preposterous.

Thanks for twisting my words to discredit my post.

Check my post again. Simply addressing the statement “can he play football, that’s all that matters”.

And I said “nope”, that’s not all that matters. If Kaep comes in and becomes a distraction and ruins the chemistry of the team... then he’s no longer helping the team, no matter how well he plays on the field. Is it really worth risking for a backup QB?

So then why are all the other players who kneeled and 'protested' still on this team if they are distractions? Considering nothing is certain with Deshaun it would probably be a good idea to have a guy besides Taylor Heineke on the team.

NO ******* SPIN ZONE. Take it there

Enough with this "I turn into a puddle if the word politics appears" crap. Kaep is a legitimate option at backup QB. He's going to get discussed pro & con here. That includes people discussing the kneeling. The 2 cannot be separated.

With that said, there is no point to rehash and go on and on. Try to show some restraint...would/would not take him because of and move on. Don't need inflammatory crap from either side.

Edit: You know what, I'm letting it go. If the Colin talk keeps going on I'll just start using PFT till the season starts. There is now a thread in the NSZ about it

Move this to the NSZ.

Tell me more about who Gaine is looking at bringing in, who was at the Oklahoma pro day etc.... What you woud do if you were GM.

The fact of the matter is that Kaepernick hurts business. And it's not because he has a political opinion, which everyone has; it's because he broke the time-and-place etiquette that all the rest of us abide by every day, then he double-downed.

Imagine a university professor always wearing a MAGA hat while giving his lectures. Then when the dean asks him about the abnormal rate of students dropping his class, his response is, "What, can't I have a political opinion?!"

Know your audience. Know your customers. And if you make the choice to piss them off unnecessarily, don't blame them for the separation.
