OK, not sure why I expected an objective response from you... that was my fault.
In any case, I hope you're right. I don't have a personal dog in the fight, all I care about are wins. Now that Rick is out, I truly am hoping he's been the biggest reason for the Texans not taking that next hump to becoming a true contender.
There are just alot of things that BOB does with the OL that simply make me scratch my head.
- Jeff Allen was the 16th ranked guard in all of football in his last season with KC. He gave up ZERO QB sacks or hits that season. But when he comes to Houston, BOB moves him to the right side??? He has not played a single snap with the Texans at the very position he was successful at, which is LG. Huh?
- XSF was unanimously considered the top guard in the draft. He is far superior to run blocking compared to his pass pro. Typically, you stick those type of skills at RG. But BOB sticks him at LG where he constantly gets beaten on pass pro?
- Nick Martin is still young, so I let this one slide a bit. But we just had a very good season at center from Greg Mancz. Why not find ways to keep Mancz there and try Martin at guard? Even with the OL struggling as bad as they did, BOB never thought, "Mancz played well last season, I need to find a way to get him on the field."
- Bringing Breno to the Texans is on Rick and was a horrible idea. But IMO, what's even a more horrible idea was playing him at RT for EVERY offensive snap. WTF!?
Not to mention that one WTF game where BOB thought it was a good idea to have XSF play FB!?!?!
When it comes to the OL, I tend to side with Rick... just because I've seen him build a successful OL with Kubiak & Gibbs. Then combine that with these extremely odds moves BOB has done since he's been here.
