**Official Game-Day Thread** Chiefs at Texans, Sunday Oct 8, 2017!!

Shouldn't Rick Smith be held accountable for the weak secondary and bad special teams play? Isn't it his job to get competent players?

I mean. All three phases. Can't be too mad about losing to the Chiefs. Hoped for a better game, but the D got declawed.

Just like that our special teams suck again.

It's the job of the coaches. You can't control injuries. Watt and Mercilus are your best pass rushers. You don't have Cushing either. You don't have your 2nd best CB. Im sorry.....only so much u can do.....against a potent offense.

But you know they are going to run and you let them rip off 20 yard scampers? Na Vrabel doesn't have the timing. He is always flat footed.

I understand that. Neither Watt nor Mercilus are in the secondary, and neither are on special teams. Those two areas, along with the O-line have not been good this year. It's Smith's responsibility to get competent players in those areas, and he has failed in that respect. I'm not sure how you can argue with that.

This always happens to us. Had a great defense and no QB. Now we have a promising QB, and the D is in shambles. Just can't seem to get it all going at the same time.

DW4 and the offense showed up tonight to bad the defense sucked balls.

Well, at least we have a legit franchise QB.

You can see the rookie in him from time to time, still. Nonetheless, he is way, way, ahead of the curve.

Moreover, the Texans are not in a bad spot at 2-3.

BUT! - not much you can do with that O-Line and defensive backfield.

I think we can still win the division, considering the other teams in it. If Watson continues to mature and players don't keep dropping like flies, we might even make a little noise in the playoffs.

Ifs, ands, buts and maybes.
