There is no way we can judge our o line vs our defense. Our front 7 is by far the most talented in the league. They won't be able to win all those battles in camp. They will be tested in the pre season games.
Going against our front 7 every day should be very very good for them
Yes it will be, but I don't expect them to be winning majority of those battles
If Savage is playing well, not holding the team back, he'll get a chance to prove himself in the playoffs. May even earn himself a franchise tag for 2018.
Nothing but positive things about Nick Martin out of camp thus far. Excited to see him in live game action. Inserting a shiny new 2nd round pick on the OL should make things interesting!
Not gonna happen

Dude, you depress the **** out of me, seriously..do you not have one positive thing to ever say about the team?
The Texans org is the only team that chose not to participate in FA.
It is what it is.
Hey, I know..perhaps you could bring up again why we did not get La'el Collins but Dallas did two off seasons ago. That wasn't discussed much. sarcasmThe Texans org is the only team that chose not to participate in FA.

You mean they didn't participate the way you'd have liked for them to participate. I know of three FAs we signed... i.e. we participated in FA.

Anyways off to my waterbed and 500,000 twenties....
Ye what's his story ? I gather he's a Titans, or Colts fan or whatever and so why does he hang around here so much if that's the case ?Dude, you depress the **** out of me, seriously..do you not have one positive thing to ever say about the team?
LOL
The way SB contenders do.
30 of the 31 teams who participated as you say will not win the Super Bowl.
Yep, but atleast they tried.
Fact is the Texans have NEVER been true contenders doing business the way they are currently doing business. Things need to change but they aren't going to change under the current regime.

In the first 15 years that the Texans have been in existence, the AFC has been represented by New England, Indy, Pittsburgh and Denver for 13 of 15 Super Bowls. Discounting Oakland in their expansion year, it is 13 of 14.
Kind of hard to accept the "Texans are a farce of an organization and the laughingstock of the NFL" attitude when there are 10 teams in the AFC alone who have been abject failures during the Texans' tenure, if we are using SB appearances as the measure of success.
And before you cut and paste your "You are apparently one of those fans who is happy with 9-7, 7-9 seasons", it doesn't matter the regular season record if you are only judged on getting to the Super Bowl. Just ask Peyton Manning. Or his brother.
9-7 it is.
I'm not really talking about winning a SB.
Tell me when have you felt like the Texans were true SB contenders entering the playoffs? Tell me when the Texans were ever a team to be feared?

Pendergast
So the Texans, counterintuitively perhaps, did very little to address the tackle position this offseason…
This article is just lazy to me.
If I were a reporter or analyst I'd try to give you something I've seen to support or dismiss that the Texans feel good about Lamm statement.
I'd give more than, "Clark was not good
I'd give you some meat to support my odds of Davenport or Giocamini earning the starting spot.
Instead we get something anyone here could have written with absolutely no insight to OTAs, Camp, or access to the coaches or players.
Definitely no meat. But unfortunately it parallels and reflects how little thought has also gone into the construction of the RT position by the FO.

If we are to believe the just released Texans' DC ...
What??
Let's not go too far with expectations. An upgrade over Mancz would be terrific.Who else is excited to see Nick Martin this preseason? Training camp reports make him out to be a surefire all pro!

For a guy who started just 10 games at Center in college (he played multiple positions), I thought Mancz handled himself really well last year.Let's not go too far with expectations. An upgrade over Mancz would be terrific.
Mancz wouldn't be expected to be a long term answer at the position, but he has always been the blue collar player who, through technique, gets the job done and performs above expectation. Last year at OC is a good example. His long term position with the Texans may be as a quality backup, but I too would like to see him tried at RT.It wouldn't bother me one bit if the Texans gave Mancz a crack at RT, if Lamm and Giacomini aren't delivering with their opportunity. Mancz has played some RT so the position wouldn't be completely foreign to him. Since RS didn't really address the RT situation via FA or the draft, they shouldn't hold back in giving every backup OL a shot at earning a starting job...maybe they'd get lucky.

I have to disagree. They went out and got Johnathon Joseph. Big FA pick up still paying dividends. Went after Osweiler who flamed out. Swung and miss. Now they made a big trade in the draft to get Watson the possible QB of the future. We will see how this plays out.
You can't say they aren't trying. And they don't have a crystal ball. Hindsight is 20/20.
My post isn't hindsight
I don't agree that going against a good unit in practice makes you better. Look at those 2000's ravens offenses or even the Texans offense last year.
If you're not good you're just not good. Sure you can get better, facing a good player in practice everyday doesn't necessarily accelerate that process.
Practice speed and intensity isn't the same as game speed. Especially from guys who know they are on the team or guys who are proven.
And you get used to guys tendencies.
