I'm going to say one (very unpopular) thing about the refs - I can understand the Hopkins call. Obviously watching his feet on the replays he looked inbounds. In the full speed shots about his 4th step with his right foot it looks like he kicks up a cloud of white chalk and that's when the play was ruled dead (not as he was stumbling, the play was still live). I saw it the same time both side whistles blew and cursed audibly because I thought he was out as well. It wasn't his foot that was the indicator, it was the chalk.
I think that is what the ref(s) saw as well, and from one replay I thought he looked out; however, another replay made me believe the chalk he kicked-up was from the sideline hashmark and not the sideline itself. That call ended up probably costing the Texans 4 points. The good news though is they got them back on the PI called in the end zone when the ball was way overthrown and the receiver gave up on the route. So instead of a FG, the Texans got a TD, and their 4 points back. That leaves the spots in question as the main call(s) to be disputed, and I can't say that they were good calls. I mean, I liked them, but I can't say they were right. On the other hand, did you see how Latavius Murray left no doubt on his 4th down run at the end of the game to seal the deal? Had the Texans done that, then who knows.
Being a Raider fan I'm used to the refs screwing the Raiders. I feel dirty watching them help the Raiders. I don't know how to feel. It just isn't right.
Anyway, I personally hate the way that Musgrave calls a game, and most Raider fans agree. Still, I can't argue too much with results. Still, our biggest gripe are his continued runs up-the-gut when it isn't working, and the RB/WR screens thrown behind the LOS that require the player to make the defender miss. Also, I hate KNJ (Ken Norton, Jr) Seattle bend-but-don't-break defense, though it does seem to be just good enough to cover the Raiders' offense. I think the Raiders OC and DC got out-coached, but the size of the Raiders wore down the Texans and allowed them to do what they've done to other teams in the 4th quarter.
This game gave me something to actually gauge the Texans by, and they look to have a pretty good team in spite of Osweiler. He seems to do alright on the short passes, and I think that will expand as he matures and learns the offense. The Texans defense is stout.
