The NFL is rigged!

Supertoad

I never believed it. I always thought the NFL had certain storylines they wanted to promote, and did things to push an agenda... but I didn't think the games were literally rigged by officiating.

Tonight that changed. The calls made were absolutely insane. The worst of course was not giving us a fourth down both times when video replay clearly showed we had the first down by a sizeable margin.

The nfl wanted the raiders to win in Mexico; period. The refs were going to oblige.

What is the point of watching games if they are stolen? One or two bad calls I can handle but tonight was beyond understanding.

A message needs to be sent to change things. This is unacceptable . What can we do as fans to make a stand against this travesty?

After being a life long football fan I am at the breaking point. Tonight was the worse loss for me not because we got beat, but because the refs and nfl made us get beat to fit a narrative. That for me is just a lot to overcome. The evidence of a first down was indisputable

I need to ask. I love my fellow Texan fans, please don't get me wrong. But what conspiracy and why?? Just for the record I think the officiating sucked. But conspiracy?

I always though that the NFL tries to keep the standings close, you have to wonder if something like that goes on. They sell parity after all. Texans win this game and they run away with the division. Effectively crossing out three markets.

Raiders win or lose their division is still close. Therefore Texans had to lose for the parity to be in check.

Dunno, that's my quick conspiracy. With how blatant they missed calls this game I just don't know. If it were close I'd get it...

International interest and money. That stadium and all of Mexico was raider. Nothing better to stoke their enthusiasm then a win. Do i really believe in a conspiracy - probably no. But i saw amazing ineptitude ref'ing the game.

This is right. This is why refs screwed us. The nfl exists to create storylines and sell tickets and commercials. The refs wanted the raiders to win. Those first down calls were the worst I have seen in all the years of watching the nfl. The replay showed the ball like 3 feet past the first down marker

The night was spent with Gruden slobbering all over Derek Carr and trying to make the Raiders elite . Are they after the peso or is it Vegas the owners are lusting after and does that make the Texans the Washington Generals ?

OPEN YOUR EYES BUDDY!! first the st. louis show on turf. then they brady tuck rule call. then peyton and the colts. no after katrina! you think that just happens by accident! now the raiders. best young qb bla bla. oakland is back bla bla. they have fans all over the country! nfl is positioning the raiders to be the next danasty!

It really was one of the worst cheat plays I've ever seen. I couldn't believe either of the last two plays were even being measured much less called wrong. They both looked obvious to me. The 2nd one being on 4th and inches made it such an easy mark to hit, and the our guy easily got there and stretched the ball far past the hash marks. Both of those botched calls after a TD play gets called back due to some ref assuming Hop went out of bounds? Sorry, but the technology is to good for those refs to ever miss a call like that when it is that obvious.

How do you think us Raider fans feel about the Immaculate Deception, the Rob Lytle fumble, and the Snow Job? We already know the NFL uses the officials to tilt a game to one team's favor. As a Raider fan, I'm just not used to it being the Raiders. It's a weird sensation.

Na. I don't buy that.

Odd that the raiders are the most penalized team in the nfl. The Texans are not statistically, but who was more penalized in this game? The raiders are bound for Vegas. Vegas is the worlds hot bed for gambling and international money was also on the line here in a country known for corruption. I've literally watched thousands of games in my 40 years but never seen a laser on the field. And Goodell. Has anyone ever seen him anywhere but a fan box? Not in this game.

It all seems like simple coincidence until you also realize today is the anniversary of the texas revolutionary battle of Santa mcnairo pendajo in which general del rio attacked a mission near austin.

Still not convinced? The raiders emblem is actually a 300 year old Masonic symbol with numerous meanings including loser, cheater, lucky, and corrupt government - in modern day, the translations include "bought refs."

I felt so bad for Bill O'Brien during his post-game press conference. He did what he could (tried to bite his tongue), to not be fined by the league. You could tell he was greatly bothered by all the bad calls that went against us.

Several horrendous placements of the ball by the officials is unacceptable. They cost us a few first downs during critical drives. He said he wanted to challenge almost every play but was told he couldn't on some of them. He's still disappointed with the DeAndre Hopkins touchdown that was ruled out of bounds. That they couldn't even challenge that one.

So depressing really. We lost 27-20 in a game I felt we outplayed the Raiders most of the game. A couple of lapses defensively and we are burned for two huge Touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

We probably should have hung up 30+ points in this game and the Raiders 27 shouldn't have mattered. But oh well. The powers that be were in charge. We had no control of it.

It's games like tonight that disgust me and make me not want to not watch the NFL anymore. It's no wonder the ratings have plummeted. I've been an NFL fanatic all my life but for the first time I'm seriously consider leaving the game and not wasting my time with garbage like tonight.

I actually agree with Donald Trump. He tweeted back in 2012 and 2013 how the NFL was rigged and soft. He complained about the bogus penalties that would favor one team over the other, and he predicted the NFL ratings would fall apart. He also said he was glad that he didn't purchase the Buffalo Bills. At first I laughed it up as just an ex USFL owner that is still bitter the NFL ran his league into the ground back in the '80s, but he was correct about everything.

Let me know who wins the Texans versus Chargers game on Sunday. My first time EVER, since the 2002 Hall of Fame game (Texans vs. Giants preseason) that I will "Not Watch" a Houston Texans game for the first time in my life. I just don't care after tonight.

Maybe I'll be more productive and run for Houston Mayor one day. I'll be like Donald Trump in the sense that I'm not wasting my time watching the NFL anymore.

I agree. Bill O'Brien should just go ahead and get fined. Leave it all out there. The NFL has gone way down in both quality and integrity, on and off the field. This isn't the same sport I grew up idolizing and felt proud of. I'm done for now.

I may try and take a peak at the Texans versus Chargers game on Sunday but honestly I may not even watch it. First Houston Texans game in 14 years that I'm not even caring about. And it's not because I'm upset at the Texans (I love their heart and effort), but I'm boycotting the NFL in general. We need major changes to make it a great game again. The current commissioner has to go!

NBA had crooked refs...I think the NFL is may actually be crooked. What I mean is that the NBA refs were the ones point shaving and involved in gambling. I actually think the NFL plays towards storylines, some things are far too perfect for a game that is ruled by luck. Honestly it would be the easiest game to fix because of holding calls can be called pretty much every play and every time it is called it absolutely kills a drive. No other sport really has this, so much of it is in the refs hands.

In the NBA or MLB the ref can't do anything about a ball that is hit well or a player getting hot from three. NFL refs...the game is just made for them to have a lot of control over it. How many times did we see Manning just lob a ball up for an easy P.I? Even if it isn't fixed it is obvious that the NFL should seriously consider how they handle their refs and how they punish them, they have the most power in any sport.

Also on a review it is obvious that the review center back in New York or wherever it is at should make the call. Just like the NBA. Why does the same ref that got the call wrong get to get the call wrong again? That makes no sense.

Yup. Would be cool if Mcnair paid any fine and had ob light the nfl up. Oddly, cam started getting calls after bitching about qb hits.

Agreed buddy. We should go to the movie theaters, let's go see a good movie on Sunday during the Texans versus Chargers game, and have a great time.

Show the NFL we won't tolerate what happened last night. 12:40 AM in Houston. I need to go to sleep. It's not worth our effort talking about it anymore. The NFL ratings will keep declining and the passionate fans won't settle for mediocre officiating anymore. Among other things but it's not a fun product when you take away the fairness of it all. When the zebras can single-handily change the momentum of a game several times "to make sure the other team stays in the game and eventually wins" is just ridiculous. This was a game we could have taken a two-score lead on multiple occasions when they stepped in and made sure that didn't happen.

Cam Newton stuck up for himself and his team. I applaud him for that. In this crooked game called the NFL you have to do that. Who else is going to do it? Nobody with power that works in the league office, that's for sure. Roger Goodell has ruined the NFL. We need a new commissioner. Until then it's not worth our time, money and effort supporting this mess.

I dont know if it was deliberate...and I've watched some games where i felt we got screwed by calls but never to this extreme. The calls against us killed multiple drives and took numerous points off the board. It changed the entire momentum of the game from the get go.

We got jobbed today.

Some fan called in, on the post-game radio show, saying that Bill O'Brien should have gone for fourth down late in the game down 7 points.

At least a fake punt would have been something to consider if you were playing a fair game. I can almost assure you had we called for a Shane Lechler fake punt, and he converts the first down (whether by pass or run), a bogus holding call would have been called on us to take it away. It's not like we'd have successfully been able to convert a first down in that situation anyways.

Punting was our only option. Sadly enough, the game was over at that point.

After what happened we needed to complete a first down by 3 yards or more to actually get a first down - but as you say holding was the likely outcome.

I usually scoff at this type of hysteria, but I've been around too long (and as someone else said, is why I quit watching basketball). There are too many examples of things going just right for the league. Funny how the Saints got sanctioned for all of their stuff AFTER winning the Katrina bowl - and then falling back into obscurity. A foreign stadium full of Raider fans as the league keeps trying to push the game to other countries, and some of the calls are just too blatant. Had it been a Texan's filled foreign stadium I'd probably say the same thing for the other team.

I don't buy into conspiracy theories, but damn - sometimes they make it a bit too obvious.

I'll made a comparision here. I know is a little different, but here in Brazil, in the soccer game, when some team is heavy prejudiced by the referees, they usually made some tape of the mistakes and send a memo to the CBF ( Brazilian Confederation of Soccer ) and so, they analyze the protest and usually they ban the referee for 3,4 months. You guys know the NFL 100% more than me, so, why the NFL don't make some similar thing? We were, as we said here in Brazil in soccer ''Operados pelo juíz sem anestesia'' ( Operated by the refs without anesthesia ). It's really unfair that dishonest refs continues to work in the next week. May contain english errors, I hope u all can understand what I'm trying to say

I needed to sleep on it, and I don't feel any better. Coming out of the tunnel, the Raiders were high fiving the refs, go back and watch. I thought that was a bit weird and stated that to the room. Then the sideline OOB on Nuk, ok bad call. Then the ball placement ALL night by the refs, they were a yard off on many key placements and key drives. The team with the most penalties in the NFL plays an almost clean game, come on, watch the film. I was thinking BOB needed to challenge more key spots early to get someone not in on it to help, but those are rarely changed so what do you do? I am still pissed they have not taught Oz how to do a QB sneak. Too tall is BS, Brady is one of the best in the league. If Oz cannot do a sneak, give it to Braxton. Between the refs and BOB last night game management, we were doomed. I actually thought the players, including Oz, showed up and played with some sack. The D could not cover a RB to save their life in the 4th, but the Raiders should not have had the ball, we were driving and would have scored with 2 minutes left or less in my view without the fix.

I have always wondered what you have to do to be one of the teams getting the fix instead of being the one getting screwed. Nights like this do make me question season ticket renewal as I wont pay for the WWF

I have seen plenty of bad calls in the league, but the number of them against the Texans this game was hair pullingly frustrating.
Raiders did get one bad call though - a PI call on a Hopkins catch. They probably called that one to try to avert attention.
The last one when Hunt made that first down was so wrong.
Not only did he get a bad spot, but when they measured, the nose of the ball was clearly touching the stick and they called it inches!
Smh.

And the green laser pointer that only shone in Brock's eyes, never seen that before. I suspect that was more of a fan then anything else, but WTF?

Bob can't call a game. It starts with that. I've spent so much time bitching about Godsey that I kind of failed to really notice that Bobs in-game management skills are at least as bad as Godsey's play calling. He's an OC at this level and nothing more (like how Godsey is a position coach and assistant at this level and nothing more). His team has no composure and no ability to withstand adversity. They're as fragile as ****-all and they have no faith whatsoever in Brock Osweiler. The defense threw in the towel the moment they realized that they were going to get screwed on that call. At no point after that happened did they appear to have anything else together.

Sure, we got screwed by the refs on a couple of ball spots and an out-of-bounds call on Nuk. That kind of **** happens to everyone in the NFL during a season. We just can't bounce back from it and keep playing our game. The offense starts standing around with their hands on their hips staring at the ground and the defense starts crying about getting robbed. That's a team with no character. That's a team with no faith and no resilience.

OB isn't just "not it". He's far from it. OB gotta go.

That fat, stupid, egotistical ****-stick stood there staring at the field like Fred ******* Flintstone trying to solve Lyapunov's second method for stability and watched a reeling Raiders defense catch their breath while still not challenging an obviously blown spot, then once the opposing defense (presumably) gave the "All Clear" he ran another play, got robbed a second time, challenges that one, and turned it over on downs. Then on the next drive he punts away his offense's last chance to tie the game.

You see, this is what gets Raider fans. Where was the outrage over the Snow Job? There was none, because it wasn't "your team". That's the problem and the NFL knows it. If they screw over one team, nobody but that team's fans will care. As a Raider fan I'm used to seeing officiating like we saw last night, but I'm used to being on the receiving end of the bad calls.

Conspiracy theories? Seriously? There's already a thread for this in NSZ you know.

Get a grip folks, I'm the one that supposed to be on drugs here. There is no large scale conspiracy, there are bad refs, bad calls, and teams that wouldn't be affected by bad refs and bad calls if they were any good in the first fu@king place. Which the Texans are not.

Tell me, anyone see the ghost of Earl Campbell in their screen door yet?

Yup. Would be cool if Mcnair paid any fine and had ob light the nfl up. Oddly, cam started getting calls after bitching about qb hits.

There have been days when I've wanted the Raiders to pull their team off the field because the officiating was so slanted. Heck, the NFL used to have Larry Nemers officiate Raider v. Chief games, and he's a Chief fan. As far as that goes, so is Walt Coleman from Arkansas, the man who was told to reverse the Snow Job call to incomplete pass.

I dont know if it was deliberate...and I've watched some games where i felt we got screwed by calls but never to this extreme. The calls against us killed multiple drives and took numerous points off the board. It changed the entire momentum of the game from the get go.

I don't think the NFL is rigged. I think the refs do a good job most games.

The Patriots can overcome not having their hall of fame qb for four games and they butted heads with the league hard. They've survived draft picks being taken as well.

The Cowboys haven't had the magic officiating light shined onto them. They are playing good football.

Texans got screwed on some calls and yet with better defensive play and better coaching down the stretch they still could have won. The officiating was inexscusable there. Looks suspect. Texans were not dealt a fair hand. They were handicapped.

But either you nut up in the moment and overcome it or go home with the L and ***** about the bad calls. They didn't overcome it unfortunately for them, as unjust as it is, so now they are left holding that L.....and bitching. The league is not going to change the results and there will be bad calls in the future that may or may not go the Texans way.

We are not the Patriots, and the team is not good enough to overcome BOB game management mistakes and refs errors or prejudice. So it sucks. On the other hand, we largely controlled a 8-2 team and still have the division lead, so we ain't the Browns. Until we are good enough to overcome everything, it will suck. This felt like one of BOB's worst game day management, I actually thought the play calling was ok as were the game plans. We need a new role on the sideline, buttchin's advisor that worries about all the game and time management stuff. After running the ball instead of kneeling and some of this, it seems BOB is too busy on the sideline and needs someone dedicated

I just keep hearing that music from the original "Bad News Bears" when our offense is out on the field. You know the slow song that plays during their "Montage of Futility".

I agree with overcoming it all and still winning the game, and I kept reminding myself that after the first, second and third bad call. That's part of the game and you expect to get the short end of a few calls. But by the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh bad call which lingered into the fourth quarter (during critical moments), etc... etc... It was becoming painfully obvious that this was more than just a few mistakes that went against us.

Especially on something simple like placing the ball on the proper yardage. When we're picking up first downs by well over a yard (you can see our guy stretching well past the first down with his knee not even down yet) - even McDonough and Gruden in the booth were saying it wasn't even close when they came to measure (It was a first down by a yard or more).

But somehow the measurement was pulled back so it could be a touch off the nose of the ball. Two things wrong there - bad placement, and even with the bad placement it was still a first down by inches but the officials moved the chains past the nose of the ball. You could see one of our players jumping up in disgust as to what they were doing.

We could have played better in the fourth quarter. No excuse for our defense to give up those two big Touchdowns. Had we tackled better maybe we'd have won this game (by 3 points or less) or at least go to overtime. But even then the way the officiating was so against us it would have been difficult to escape with a win any way you look at it. Biased or not.

ESPN's His & Hers is talking about this game right now. Michael Smith makes a good point. Go back to old school rules and football. Take away instant replay especially if you can't even use it on that DeAndre Hopkins Touchdown that was ruled out of bounds. Taking those 4 points off the board just set the tone for what type of game it was going to be.

So you wanted a QB sneak when the refs were a yard off on key plays? Do you realize a QB sneak is the hardest play to overturn on a challenge? That 4th & 1 run with Hunt was an obvious 1st down that should have been overturned. A QB sneak and there would have been way too many bodies to even try to overturn anything.

LOL, I just saw one of the first down runs we had down the side line. Another stretched ball a good yard past the first down marker. But the official immediately runs in, places the ball a half yard behind the first down (1.5 yards off). We didn't challenge that play though. Bill O'Brien would have ran out of challenges.

It's impossible to challenge 7 or 8 plays. Especially if they still get it wrong even after reviewing it, which they did on that fourth quarter review. It's just unbelievable. Can these officials be held accountable and be suspended? I hope the league office is reviewing the tape.

I'm all for overcoming bad calls and I hate to make excuses. But not when there's literally that many obvious bad calls. Great teams, even good teams, still find a way to win games. But most of you don't even consider the Texans a good team which makes it even harder for us to win a game like this.

The Osweiler 3rd down scramble was marked short. He made the line to gain. Should have been a first down.

The PI call against Bouye covering Crabtree was a bad call. Crabtree tripped on his own two feet.

Terrible officiating

Not my quote bop.

In other news rich eisen has gone off about the poor officiating for about 30 minutes now.

what a game we had many chances to win it at the end its just we gave up 14 points in the 4th we kinda just wet our self at the end

on 4th and 1 it seems we always run 2 the left maybe just to switch things up we should run the the right or maybe we should just run up there hurry and snap it and use that what 6-9 brock to just dive in and use his frame to reach over

Rich Eisen and Dan Patrick: I like to watch those two shows on Root Sports: I catch the re-runs at 2 AM if I miss them in the day time. Those two guys always stick up for the Houston Texans when most of the national media laughs at us and puts us down. Maybe because they often invite J.J. Watt as a guest on the show.
