Free-agent QB Brian Hoyer plans to wait to see how draft plays out this week before choosing where to sign, per source.
Is that to imply he has more than one offer?

He's waiting for an offer as a starter..........I don't see an outright situation like that really available at this particular time
Nobody's going to name him the starter when they sign him - heck, the Texans didn't even technically do that (emphasis on word technically). I could see a scenario where the Jets, Broncos (if they don't trade for Kaepernick or someone else), or San Fran (if the Broncos do trade for Kaepernick) give him a chance to compete to start. You may be right. That situation isn't going to be in the cards unless there is a major injury before the season starts.
I doubt that any team with smarts would pick him as a starter unless absolutely desperate...........unless they "forget" about his concussion history and the fact that his next QB hit may be his last.Nobody's going to name him the starter when they sign him - heck, the Texans didn't even technically do that (emphasis on word technically). First, I think you're giving the NFL too much credit. If he's medically cleared to play (which he obviously is since he started the playoff game), I don't think it's going to factor in to that decision. Secondly, if it did cause a team to scratch him as a potential starter, I'm not sure why they would then turn around and say that they're fine with him as a backup. Every backup in the NFL (no matter how much they suck) is simply an NFL starter waiting to happen.I doubt that any team with smarts would pick him as a starter unless absolutely desperate...........unless they "forget" about his concussion history and the fact that his next QB hit may be his last.
Fitzpatrick has told the Jet he would not play rather than take what they are offering.
And Jason Terry cares because why?Fitzpatrick has told the Jet he would not play rather than take what they are offering.

And now you are making fun of 2nd grade English spelling skills? And Jason Terry cares because why?
That's the Fitz I fell in love with. F'ck the man.
He's not going to slide short of a first down. He's going to tuck that ball in, put his head down & go get his first down.
Might not work this time, but I love the spirit.
I hope Fitz walks into the sunset or gets a better offer elsewhere. The Jets are then unable to land a QB in the draft and they have to crawl to Hoyer and bring him in to start for them, and then they are forced to live through our pain from this last year.
I hope Rex picks him up for $7M & sweep the Jets in 2016.
Ehh they got Tyrod Taylor for cheaper, and honestly with both of them at where they are in their careers I rather start Taylor
I have no doubt you can spell - you just can't type. And now you are making fun of 2nd grade English spelling skills?![]()
HOYER SIGNING With THE BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!
for 1 year deal
I think the bears in Chicago have been spending to much time with polar bears. They can't think straight now. This kind of sh!t is what happens when you do stuff like that.

LINKSix teams expressed interest in Hoyer, who played one season in Cleveland under Bears offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains. The Bears pursued Hoyer because of the experience and leadership he brings to the backup quarterback spot behind incumbent starter Jay Cutler.
The Texans open against the Bears, so if Cutler doesn't make it out of preseason healthy....Bummer, good friend of mine is a Broncos fan. I was hoping the Broncos would pick him up making Oct 24th an epic MNF game.
Hoyer as a backup is not too bad.
Until the starter gets hurt.....
Can't you say that about most backups though?
Yeah, in the 4th quarter. But since his ineptitude in the first three quarters would have staked us to a 7 TD lead we would still win the game.Knowing Houston sports lore, he would probably throw for 5 TDs, and 400 + yards.![]()

Ehhh...he's the backup QB. At least half the backup QB's in the NFL are retreads (including the Texans). Not exactly something to jump up and down about. It is music to my ears that teams other than Texans are going for retreads at QB.
i get you but Savage not a retread. You are probably referring to Weeden; not sure I would call him retread as he has not played much anywhere.Ehhh...he's the backup Qou butB. Yeah, I'm talking about Weeden (and I agree, Savage is not a retread). Weeden's been in the league for four seasons, and he's started 15 games for three different teams. I feel fairly comfortable referring to him as a retread.i get you but Savage not a retread. You are probably referring to Weeden; not sure I would call him retread as he has not played much anywhere.

I love this thread. It never gets old to me. "Texans Release Brian Hoyer" is the gift that keeps on giving.
It's RELASE! Get it straight.
Damn someone fixed it.

Well that's odd, no history of action comes up.
