Texans relees Brian Hoyer

No, the point is they chose not to cut Hoyer until now, and it cost them nothing in terms of Martellus Bennett, but you choose to link the two. That shows how far off the deep end you've gone with this whole thing.

There's lots of folks here - including me - who aren't big Rick Smith fans, and feel like moving on from him would be a step in the right direction. That doesn't mean that if I find out Rick Smith had a turkey sandwich for lunch, I blame him for it because it surely either has or will cause him to do something I don't like. Because in reality, Brian Hoyer being on the roster had exactly the same amount to do with the Texans not trading for Martellus Bennett (or in some other way addressing their TE situation) as what Rick Smith had for lunch today did.

We will never agree on this.

It looks like Smith will be sitting on salary cap space this yr. One thing I think we can agree on is that hopefully that $$$$ will be used on Nuk's extension.

You're obviously ignorant to the side effects of eating turkey for lunch.

It has been linked to over 1500 reports of eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome (EMS) and 37 deaths. EMS is a neurological condition with symptoms that include fatigue; intense muscle pain; nerve pain; skin changes; baldness; rash; and pain and swelling affecting the joints, connective tissue, lungs, heart, and liver.

Judging by the amount of hair on Rick's noggin, I bet he's had more than his share of turkey sandwiches. No doubt in my mind Marty B would be a Texans if Rick wasn't tired all the time from eating turkey sandwiches all the damn time.

Hmmm....Mo Wilkerson to the Tejans.

Hadn't thought of that. It would cost you a 2nd at least.

"A 2nd at least"?

Mid January Wilkerson supposedly underwent surgery for a fractured right fibula. Reports have predicted a 6 month rehab. Uncomplicated fibular fractures typically carry a 2 to max 3 month return to play. Wilkerson therefore must have suffered a proximal fibular fracture with knee ligament and/or cartilage involvement, or a distal fibular fracture with ankle ligament and/or cartilage involvement in order to carry such a long expected recovery. Post recovery performance following isolated fibular fracture would not be expected to be diminished. However, involvement of joint structures would make performance less predictable, depending on the exact nature of the damage.

I can't believe that in a QB driven league, Smith couldn't get something for Hoyer. Other than the terrible playoff game Hoyer wasn't that bad and should have some kind of value, late round pick. This was probably a kind gesture on the Texans part since they could have held him until another team had a QB need in preseason and then traded him for something. Glad he's gone but we should have gotten something for him.

Oh BS! That's like saying we should have gotten something for David Carr.

To me the best thing about this is they didn't even release him. Instead they chose to "relase" him which I assume involves firing a laser at him in some appropriately sensitive spot which I hope we all get to see happen.

Looking forward to that one. :forrest:

I have a gay, black, female friend who on weekends kills baby whales named Jesus.

Way too long for a bumper sticker.
baby whales named after me...?

I have White Christian Conservative friends and no one come to their defense. There's a HUGE double standard.

No one here is coming to the defense of anyone. Ellis said something that could have been misconstrued.

corytx8 pointed it out. Ellis clarified what he meant. DBCooper fired back with a classic cliché, to rib EllisUnit. Then people joked about his joke.

No double standard... no defending anyone... & you come out of left field with some BS because you didn't catch the joke. As we've seen several times, it's over your head & you're starting crap about crap that doesn't need to be started here.

Sorry if I'm not blind enough for you. I see beyond the "joke."

Thoughtless liberal do gooders.
Not exactly a big threat to the folks you've described.

I've been a white Christian conservative my whole life (I'm in my 50's). Well, white and Christian anyway, the conservative part only since my early 20's. The idea that there is anything about that which requires defending is laughable.

I'm honestly surprised this thread had made it to now 85 posts. Figured it'd be a link to the story and 85 likes. Hahaha

How awesome to have nickname for all our QBs that we have enjoyed over the years....

Hoyerable

Short timers that didn't stick long enough....

Mallett - "Mullet" tried to stick

TBD....
Osweiler
Weeden
Savage

There hasn't been a Texans player that I have hated more than Brian Hoyer. I was appalled by his signing last year and hated seeing his bald, ugly face on the sidelines. Hoyer zapped any enthusiasm I had for our team last year and he singlehandedly put my Texans fandom on life support. His play was atrocious and I am ecstatic that he is gone. Don't let the door hit you on the way out Brian. I can't wait to see a real QB like Brock Osweiler playing in the regular season for us

Marshall is the worst poster on this board. What he posted earlier is proof. Marshall was also a Hoyer supporter. NEVER FORGET THAT
