Bah, I'm interested in your take on Darby overall. What do you think about his prospects as a rookie, how much playing time and where on the field? Also, how do you see him developing?

He had a lot of momentum going into this season, really looked good at end of previous year. I've stated that everyone took a step back this year, but his step back was the most noticeable.

I love defensive prospects from TCU. They tend to adapt very quickly to the NFL because Patterson runs a very complicated defensive scheme. I would love to get my hands on those two guys.

I don't think Parker makes it to us. I think he's gone in the top 12, so I'd sub Jaelen Strong in there. He's far more raw than Parker, but his top end potential is just as high. Would absolutely love to somehow land Parker though.

I think both of those other picks could happen. Dawson fits as a do it all ILB who can cover and play the run. I could see him being there for us at that selection.

This is a good draft for Safeties and they tend to not go very high, so I could definitely see Hackett there in the third, especially if Holliman goes in front of him. Very good chance the 6th Safety drafted would be right around our third round selection.

I'm not really that high on him, to be honest. He's a fantastic athlete, but he doesn't really do much with that. Every time I watch him he looks lost in coverage. He's athletic enough to stay with his man but he never seems to understand where they are going or where the ball is. I think he will be exposed at the next level when he can't out-athlete the guy across from him.

I think he could be a third corner but I wouldn't put him in the nickel. I don't think he gets off blocks well enough and I don't like his tackling. He's the kind of guy who comes in with the nickel group and you slide one of your starters down into the slot.

I also think that's he's pretty much maxed out. I don't think he has improved at all since his freshman year. He's played a lot more, but the quality of that play looks pretty much the same to me.

I just don't think he "gets it". He doesn't look like a "Cornerback" to me, he looks like a guy who got put at CB just because he happened to be a great athlete with the right size.

If Parker weren't there I would try to hit a homerun with a guy like Green-Beckham or Funchess. Guys with unreal type athletic ability. Sometimes you've got to gamble if you want to be the best and these 2 guys, although a gamble for different reasons are 2 of the best athletes in this draft and would give BOB's offense a badly needed speed/weapon.

Hackett is ranked as a 4th rd pick by Rang. I'm hoping that he lasts until the Texans 3rd rd pick. I've got him ranked in the 2nd. His skillset reminds me of Jimmie Ward, who went in the late 1st to San Fran.
 
You are the first person other than me that sees Olumu as a safety. His speed and skills there would be awesome. Height would not be as big a detriment.

I think he could still play CB but I think he'd be better at S. He's quick in small areas, he's physical, and he's a good tackler. All of those skills would be useful there. My main concerns with him have been his length and athleticism. He's athletic enough to run with guys over the middle but he doesn't have the long speed to stay with NFL WRs down the field. I think you minimize that if you put him in the middle.

Great player but he's too injury prone for me. All three years for Georgia he was in and out of games in important moments because he was too banged up. And they didn't overuse him. He just always seems to get nicked.

I certainly wouldn't say no to him, but I'd rather have Coleman. He's every bit the athlete and I think he gives you a little more versatility.

Funchess reminds me a lot of Braylon Edwards. If he could put it all together he would be an amazing physical specimen. But instead he takes the lazy route. He takes plays off when he knows he's not getting the ball, he drops too many passes, and he's soft.

I don't like using first round picks on guys who have to be motivated to give the proper amount of effort.

Gotcha. I am zeroing in on Parker. I think we need WR help.

As far as Funchess, I have been watching him for years. I think the only thing he is going to burn is the team that takes him in the first round. To me I dont think he has the BURST that is needed, especially at his size.

I was a BIG fan of Kelvin Benjamin last season. Was ecstatic getting him in the 2nd round of our mock draft. But if you think Funchess is the same player then I think you are going to be disappointed. I think someone taking him in the 2nd or 3rd could be happy with their purchase. If they figure out where and how to use him.

@Bah007, I'd like to get your opinion of Tyrus Thompson-OT and see if it's similar to mine. Pros: I see a guy that definetly has the size for the NFL (height/weight), but also the long arms and big hands. I like his quickness and quick feet, seems fairly athletic for a man his size. I like his pass blocking more so than his run blocking but he's got the basic skills to work with. Cons: Needs to bend his knees more to absorb a bull rush and/or generate more power in run blocking, and get his pads lower. I think he needs to work on his run blocking/power, maybe it's a strength issue. I'd also like to see more of a mean streak, I want to see him flatten guys, and finish his blocks. With his size and athleticism he should be dominating D-linemen in college.

What do you think of him as a later round, 5th-7th round, prospect? Right now I think he's more of a RT prospect for the NFL, but with a little technique work he could probably handle LT as a swing OT and could probably handle either OG spot as well.

Based on your evaluation I'd say we see a very similar player.

Despite his monstrous size I think he's more athlete than football player right now. He has the fundamental skills that you look for in a NFL lineman, he's just raw with them.

He appears to have a solid foundation of strength but he doesn't functionally use it well. He doesn't transfer power efficiently from his lower body to his upper body, and I think that's why you see him get pushed around sometimes by guys who have no business pushing him around. He also hasn't been able to overcome the leverage problem that his height creates. Right off the bat I'd guess that he has good weight room strength but a weak core. That's fixable, so I think he'd be able to play RT or either OG spot after correcting that.

He has the feet and length to play LT, but his technique is shoddy. He definitely needs some NFL coaching before I'd let him play that side. He'd get murdered by anybody who has more than one move.

I think 5th round is the latest he would go. 5th round is where he grades at as a player right now, but I think he'll go higher because there is clearly potential there. Sometimes you aren't drafting guys based on what they are, but instead on what they could be, especially in the last half of the draft where missing on one guy isn't such a huge deal.

Glad to say that we see the same thing in Thompson. I think Thompson's issues are very coachable/fixable, and a team that could stash him away on the end of the bench could have a very good OT on their hands in 2016 if he puts in the work. Thanks.

I think Smith can be a solid pro RT. I actually think he has a chance to go in the second round.

Poutasi will likely have to move inside. I think he can play either OG spot.

Myers could potentially play RT in the pros but I think he ends up at LG. Versatility is a plus with him. Could pitch in at LG, RG, or RT in spurts.

OTOH I couldn't agree more with you about Peat. His skills are unmistakable. I'm always a little struck at some of the negatives I see about him on here. I think once he starts working daily against/with pro-level pass rushers/coaches he's going to be molded into a 10-year franchise-type LT.

I don't know quite what to do with Holliman. Despite his college production, I don't see a guy with the range and cover skills to play FS in the NFL. If he's gonna stick he's going to have to toughen up and learn how to tackle. I think he'd do best working in shallow zones using his instincts to jump routes. I don't think he can run with guys over the top.

We definitely agree about Peat. He's a no brainer.
