how good were the Texans at the end of the season?

I don't know the numbers, but that seems like it should be the opposite. Even subtract the block that broke Harrison's orbital bone and it still seems like DB kicks his tail. My hallucinogens may be kickin in, so I may be wrong

Freeney, otoh, had DB's number

Hell, I'm old, could be my dementia kicking in

Ha ha...."dominated"??? By the 3.2 yds per rush of Foster or the 4.4 yds per passing of Keenum?

The Texans defense dominated, not the Kennum led offense....otherwise Bullock doesn't have to kick 6 FG's to win the game....or Foster throws the only TD pass for the Texans....please be serious.

Yes, DOMINATED! 200+ total yards in the 1st half against 35 yds for Ravens.
4 three and outs, 2 first downs, 2 ints. That team was totally dominated.

Then struggled to beat the Browns the next week. Good thing for the Ravens the Chiefs stepped up.

Never said Keenum or the offense dominated, I said the Texans dominated the Ravens...which it seems some Baltimore media outlets, and Harbaugh, agreed with.

No way the Texans go into Heinz Field and beat the Steelers with Case Keenum. No way.

I don't know how you can say that with any certainty. The Texans went into Heinz field in week 7 and should have beaten Pittsburgh but a disastrous end to the first half kept that from happening. That was with Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB, and honestly he's not that much of an improvement at QB over Keenum. The Texans defense was starting to gel at the end of the season and was playing a hell of a lot better. The team went 4-1 down the stretch and the only reason they lost to the Colts was because Tom Savage couldn't do anything for us on offense in that game. I'm not saying I'm certain we would have won but considering the Steelers didn't have Le'veon Bell I like our chances.

Congrats to your team on beating Pittsburgh and I wish the Ravens all the luck on taking out the Patriots.

And, despite what you say above, the Ravens were dominated by the Texans in Houston with Keenum at QB. Yeah, the Texans would've had a good shot going up there.

Well.....never mind....sure looks like it to me....

Bold type-Finishing with 313 Total Yards....So that means 113 total yards in the second half for your offense....

That smells like desperation (to make a point)....not domination.....

italics- Exactly my point: your defense was dominant...not the offense...

As if the 8-7 Chiefs were such a tall task for the Chargers- Only team since the merger I believe to go a whole season without a TD to WR...with jamal Charles to boot....

Spin how you wish. The Texans dominated the Ravens that day. End of story.

Im not spinning cacka...using your numbers, I dismantled your argument of an offensively dominating performance.

Moving the ball between the 20's is not dominating....

Good lord folks, on that Sunday the Texans dominated the Ravens. They did so with an overwhelming defense and an offense that did just enough.

When it results in a win for the home team and makes the visiting team look incompetent, it is a DOMINATING performance.

See post above this one...

If we're not playing a QB we signed 4 days earlier that could have been significantly worse. That game was a complete domination. Score could have been 43-13 type had we had a qb that wasn't bow hunting prior to suiting up.

Good Lord, when you write "an offense that did just enough to win" you cannot use the word "dominate".

Unless you are strictly talking about the Defense- then you are allowed to use the word "dominate".....:slapfight:

Team Texans dominated Team Ravens

end of story

So you got that going for you in the off season.....

I'd love to trade places with you since you seem to be having trouble enjoying winning. Not that we don't enjoy your company, but c'mon... it's one game that meant absolutely nothing to you & everything to some around here.

Let it go. Let them have their whatever... you should be looking forward to a 2nd Super Bowl.

Every game is important to me....especially games vs the Texans, Chiefs, Steelers and Patriots. I post here and on a Chiefs MB so those games means a lot more to me than say the Jaguars or the Raiders.....

I am looking forward to a good game today....

I was wondering when you'd get around to playing the " so what, we're still in the playoffs and y'all (oops, I mean youse guys) ain't" card
:)

I can see where that came off as flippant and I am actually wishing I had worded that differently. That's was not my intent- honestly.

I regret that sentence. :kubepalm:

Also- I am not having trouble enjoying the winning- like you guys, I know what its like to have your team move away- we had to wait 12 years for a new team. The way our team was ripped away with all the team records, history and colors was excruciating- I was 20 years old. It hurt for a long long time...

So having the Ravens is a salve- we have 1 more SB than the Indy Colts do but their fans can't let it go....

Hey, no problem.

...oh and feel free to take that Kube-Palm with you; doesn't really fit here any more.

The Raven's made the playoffs. They're out now.

Interesting side note. 2 divisions played the NFC south this year, the AFC north (3 of 4 teams made it) and the NFC North (2 of the 4 teas made it). That is (obviously 5 of the 12 playoff teams that made it played the NFC south (6 if you include the Panthers). Of those 5 teams the only team left is the Pack (who haven't played a game yet). The only team to win a game so far is the Ravens, who played another team that played the NFC South, and they got bounced yesterday.

Just thought that was kind of interesting.

And next year, we get the NFC south... Though, it is difficult to imagine a performance from that division bad enough for Jacksonville or Tennessee to win 10 games, in additional the the Texans and Colts.

Very acute observation....Steelers were one of the Buccaneers 2 wins this season yet won the AFC North division....while the Ravens were perfect 4-0 vs NFC South and was 6th seed....smdh....:koolaid:

In the mean time our defense is very capable of going into Indianapolis and holding Andrew Luck and the Colts to under 20 points, as evidence in that 17-10 loss at Indianapolis late in the 2014 season. A lot of the naive and uninformed fans across the country will say that Luck and the Colts will own the AFC South for the next decade. But fact is we were very close to winning there the last time the two teams played.

Give us a good quarterback right now and we'll stomp the Colts around twice a year. Defensively we were able to hold their offense down at their house which isn't easy to do. The Colts are known to turn the ball over quite a bit and play noticeable stinkers on the road but rarely at home. With a good off-season, the Texans should be able to overtake the Colts for the AFC South in 2015. My only concern is I've lost some faith in general manager Rick Smith. If we had a reliable GM I'd feel more upbeat about our chances. We've blown so many draft picks and never seem to pounce on any of the golden opportunities that have presented themselves in the past whenever it came to bringing in a good quarterback.

Rick Smith: It's on you! This off-season (free agency, draft or trades) will be very important. This could be his last year as the Texans GM if he stumbles and fails to produce what this franchise is lacking. The Texans fanbase shouldn't have any more patience. I don't want to hear this was a 2-14 team that improved to 9-7. They were also a 12-4 (once 11-1, best record in NFL) and 10-6 team the previous two seasons with a couple of wild-card wins over the Bengals.

I thought the Texans played extremely hard for Bill O'Brien in 2014. They were playing some good football, especially defensively, at the end of the year. We beat a heck of a football team in the Ravens and also held the explosive Colts offense to 17 points at their house. We can build off those two games going into next year. Once we add a little more talent and find ourselves a franchise quarterback - easier said than done - we'll become one of the favorites to win the conference year in and year out. I don't want to see this team playing four different quarterbacks again in 2015. That much is certain.

No doubt. It's never over until all the dust settles.

His statement that he wasn't going anywhere was in answer to the other jobs...

The Broncos job was a 'game changer" as he put it and I don't doubt him one bit. Word around the ravens facility is that no one there has ever met a more honest or direct person who doesn't suffer from ego problems since Ozzie Newsome walked into that franchise a long long time ago.....and I do not doubt that for one second.
