Don't know where you heard that, I certainly never have. Do you really think that the players put fans opinions well above money and success?
Oh I get it. You were being facetious and just trolling![]()

Again, what reputation is that which would make a FA not want to come to the Texans?
Liiiiiiike...... if they didn't like attractive women???
Orrrrrr, if they wanted to pay their fair share of state income taxes...?![]()
Perrrrhaps they don't want to be turned into a newt?![]()

At this point what options do we really have? Thad Lewis and Case Keenum. I like Case, and i'd like to see him at least get a notch in the win column in his NFL Career.
Must spread rep.
Damn.
Monty Python references should not go unrewarded.
Yeah, I tried as well, but MSR.

Keenum rant incoming ... cover your eyes.
i find it ironic that the kareem jackson post came up as i'm trying to formulate my keenum rant. in 2010 kareem got put into a no-win situation, embarrassing himself was a foregone conclusion with the 'kiddie corners' setting he was put into. but when put into a better place, his talent (though still mocked) was able to grow and present itsself. for me, that's case keenum's 2013. i take instant offense to anyone using 2013 as a barometer - for anything. to not see the impossibility of that season is just mind blowing, the 2013 texans won the lottery ... a billion to one chance worst lottery ever. in 2006 gary kubiak had andre johnson (the ONE long term player), a mountain of debt and the first overall pick. in 2012 gary kubiak had 9 probowlers and a 12-4 record. 2013 was fubar and got everyone fired, some geniuses think it's because kubiak got figured out (with wade's single worst turnover margin in 30+ years) - while the ravens and flacco are having their best (ever?) offensive season. how's that 'figured out' working as a play-action bootleg to our 4th string runningback results in a touchdown to owen daniels? Kubiak created the #1 receiver, the #1 runningback and the #1 offensive line ... and still folks needed heads to roll for 2013. Houston's made a lot of mistakes in our football tenure, I will probably hold the firing of kubiak and wade as our biggest mistakes for a very long time.
kareem's nightmare 2010 was nothing compared to the situation case was forced into. had keenum been 5 inches taller and not associated with the 2013 texans he'd be starting somewhere. as it is, he was heir apparent in 2014 - close but not ready to take on the role in 2013. unfortunately our leader, coming off of a probowl season, was being held together with scotch tape and good intentions. our backup was a backup - and when **** hit the fan half way through the season he really wasnt an option. enter keenum - a 2nd year (practice squad rookie) 3rd stringer thrust into the deep end of a **** sandwich. a sandwich that the coach and owner disagreed about their ingredients. and actually looked fairly good - other than the fact teams figured out our blocking scheme by halftime. keenum struggled to pick up the blitz, no doubt, but the times we allowed free rushers through interior gaps again falls into the impossible category. kubiak wasnt ready for keenum, keenum wasnt ready to start, and the texans were simply ufcked in every way in 2013.
o'brien runs a horrible offense, but it is one better suited to keenum. he'd get to call the line adjustments which is HUUUUUGE for keenum, he needs that control. keenum has a real rapport with our receivers. he's done right by andre, is great with hopkins, and can turn posey into a legitimate weapon again. he's 10 times the scrambler that fitz is. if given the opportunity to make his own reads and adjustments, case could be not good here, but great. his 1-2-dump-run is as good as anyone, he'd legitimize the bad read-option we show, and i say again - he would be infinitely better making his own line adjustments.
while i'm at it, the anti-keenum movement is just annoying. i was here for vince young, i get it. taking a preemptive strike against a hometown player is a reflex at this point, and reinforced after manziel. the "oh no we're going to see keenum fanboys" and general disdain for the guy and anyone who says something positive is exponentially out of proportion to reality (and always has been). it took 6 pages for the first real pro keenum rant - and would've taken longer had I not been drinking early tonight.

There have been four other teams this season to utilize 3 QB's: Redskins, Vikings, Cardinals and Titans. And yet the only team to pluck Keenum off of the Rams' practice squad has been the Texans, and that was after they had to go to #4.
You gotta go to the Chron for that. Lots of people there that believe it's a foregone conclusion that Keenum will start, win the next two games, and be retained as the starter for next season's SB run. There will be a lot of boo boo lips if/when Thad Lewis trots onto the field as the starter.
When was the last time the texans started a black QB?

look at the teams you've quoted and their success in evaluating quarterbacks. then bring it home. would keenum's 18.7 points per game (without foster, on the most impossibly screwed up team i've ever seen and as a 3rd string sophomore jumping into the starting role) ... would he have won last week against the colts? i say yes. hell i say keenum, with this cast and this season has 8 wins right now. a 32 year old version of keenum with slower processing speed and worse throwing decisions has us at 7 wins.
savage couldn't even hand the ball off ... but keenum is the worst quarterback ever because he was part of the most insanely fubar team ever.
I'm not a Keenum hater or homer.
All I've ever said, was that he had more than his fair shot to prove that he could be a difference maker at the QB position & he failed to prove he deserved another shot. I never thought he'd get another shot anywhere in this league, much less with the Texans.
But here we are.
If he does get to start, it's up to him to prove he belongs in this league. Winning is a part of it, but it wasn't his lack of winning that proved to me that he doesn't. I need him to show me that he knows the difference between 3rd & long from the 50 & 3rd and long from the 5. Kinda like the Rosencopter where Sage's biggest failure was not being able to work that risk/reward equation in his head, in real time.
He's got big play making ability... but his big plays did not make up for his negative plays. He's got to get that turned around.
All I've ever said, was that he had more than his fair shot
this is my key issue with all things keenum. he got the least FAIR shot that has ever been. if peyton manning and joe montana had a baby and named it brady rodgers - he would've gone winless on the 2013 texans.

If you don't count Mallett then it'd be Tony Banks.
mallet was black? Damn. I need a new TV.

TheIronDuke thinks Mallett is a whigger.
Can he jump?
He tore his tittie jumping.
Well then, that settles it. We are all happy as hell to see Keenum back, oil still flows in our Houstonian viens, we are still cursed somehow but I don't know how yet.
Keenum will lose the next two games and wind up in Seattle where he'll win the next five super bowls and yet again, once prove we are cursed. This is on the hands of those that have ridiculed him. Had you fallen to your knees at the alter of The Red Keenum, this could have been avoided.
You people are pathetic.

Keenum's first win as a Texan![]()
If Houston loses this game you will catch immense heat.![]()
hey, quit looking at my testicles!!Grow a pair, we got this
hey, quit looking at my testicles!!
5 million reasons why we should have stayed with Keenum instead of Fitz. I still think Mallett looks the best out of what we saw this season. He just needs to learn to throw a nice touch pass.I'm not too excited about bringing Fitzpatrick back. Today, Case did a pretty good Fitzpatrick impersonation. Nothing fancy, not putting the team on his back, doing enough to move the ball, not doing anything stupid.
I just don't see much of a future with Fitz or Case. If we sign him & he continues to be a Texan, fine... I'll root for him. If he moves on & gets a chance to start for someone else, fine... I'll root for him.
I wouldn't mind this at all. Doubt if Savage would go on the practice squad though since that is OB's guy. He probably doesn't want to risk anybody picking him up.
our only wins from a winning team were bills and browns.
ravens coming were the best team we defeated and it came with keenum with barely anytime to prepare.
plus kubiak knows all the weaknesses of case since he developed him.
case had no problem against the blitz compared to last year.
This performance by Keanum has to be one of if not the best of the season by Houstons quarterbacks . It helps that OB called a little more creative game plan as well . Good job but should of come sooner .![]()
