Cincinnati Bengals @ Houston Texans. 11/23. Noon. CBS. **Official Gameday Thread**

I never supported and I never will. I was booing and yelling at both Clowney and Newton for sucking. You sound like the guy a couple rows in the front row trying to shut me up. I shut that asshole down and will do the same to you.

Lol, likes to fight guy.

What if texanfight stood by the dart board yelling and screaming to work on Mallett's focus .

That would probably help. Until Mallett threw wide, stabbed Texanfight in the eye, then the FIGHT would be on. BOB would intervene and remind them they have to be good teammates and work to be more consistent with dart throwing and fighting.

So texansfight could be Mallett's Crash Davis . Of course Mallett would be Nuke Laloosh now you just have to find Annie Savoy .

Throw the dart meat . Mallett throws and pokes a hole in BOB's tire .

I never supported Clowney and I never will. If I ever see Clowney in person, I will make sure to tell him in his face how much of a *****, jake that he is. It would be worth a beat down. Your the kind of who talks **** and then gets beat the **** down, dealt with you ass holes many times. The annoying prick who thinks his **** don't stink, is loud and obnoxious, inconsiderate of others. Until you get your ass beat, and even then you tripped or had something in your eye.

Do yourself a favor and SHUT THE **** UP !

Do you sell ice cream? Shut you down, granny!!

This game is an indictment on Rick Smith's horrific job of drafting and pro player acquisition. Our CBs and LBers other than Rolle and Cushing suck. Derek Newton was an abomination and I almost got into a fight with a guy at the game after I tore into the fat, lazy POS RT. Clowney was lost on several plays and didn't know his assignment. No factor at all in this game.

JADEVEON CLOWNEY IS AN AUNDRAY BRUCE LEVEL BUST!

FIRE RICK SMITH.

Lol. Matrix may have some competition.

Chill man, its not that serious. It really isn't.....

At this point I don't mind watching Mallet develop. He might be the Texans long term starter. I did think they should have drafted a QB at 1/1 last year. I don't think waiting year after year for the "perfect" QB is wise. One of the reasons floated (I guess just on the board) was that the Texans shouldn't take a QB for this season because the next class was loaded.
You've heard of a performance that was worse than the worst that ever was.

Mallett's decent showing against the Browns went to his head, and that's why his performance today was even worse than that. But don't give up on him yet. The 1 game overexcitement could easily iron itself out. If it doesn't, well, we've already won too many games to get Mariota or Hundley in the next draft.

Yep..

The problem with the Texans can be summed up in one simple phrase - there is a serious lack of talent on both sides of the ball. That is an indictment of the General Manager and/or whomever has final say on the team roster. With the first pick in each round heading into this past draft (11 picks total to begin), it should be completely inexcusable to have that little talent depth at so many different positions.

1. Jadeveon Clowney - has shown little so far. Has played through severe yeast infections, horrible vaginal dryness, and today took the field having just started his monthly cycle.

2. Xavier Su'a-Filo - last time I saw him on field he was removed during a series and replaced by Ben Jones. Let me say that again - Ben Jones.

3. C.J. Fiedorowicz - is great for a hold or a false start every game. Is there a fantasy league where penalties count?

3. Louis Nix - IR. Probably for life.

4. Tom Savage - Not sure he has even seen the inside of NRG Stadium yet.

6. Jeoffrey Pagan - Has he done anything this year?

6. Alfred Blue - our best pick of the draft. He averaged 2.9 years per carry today against the 28th ranked defense.

6. Jay Prosch - see Alfred Blue, the guy he helped get that awesome 2.9 YPC today

7. Andre Hal - Has had some good moments this year, but last time I saw him Mark Sanchez was laughing at him. Buttfumble was laughing at him.

7. Lonnie Ballentine - whatever....

This is my new favorite post of the day. But then, I am not a Rick Smith fan, and as much as I thought it was time for Kubiak to go, I would have sent Smith packing ahead of/with him.

I'm not a Rick Smith fan either, but 11 games is a little early to be judging rookies. Grade Smith on his past drafts and he fails and that should be the reason for firing him. I won't judge these rookies on 11 games just like I won't judge Mallett on 2.

rick smith is apart of the Kubes era hes tied to it and that era Failed I don't know why Mcnair would want to taint his brand new young coach with the old failed rick smith

Smith 9 year resume here should be reason enough for him to see the door

Normally I respect the heck out of your opinion, but I disagree here. Way too many rookies on other teams making big impact early on. If this was a fluke bad draft by Rick Smith I'd be willing to wait to judge. We just had too much riding on this draft with too many picks in the best positions to miss this badly. In today's NFL you better be able to draft well and raise your own talent. Texans suck at it.

You nailed it. Piss poor draft and not overly impressed with our new Head Coach either. Seems like a hot head with a short fuse, not much of a leader. Too many hissy fits on the sideline when things don't go his way. I don't like what I see from him when compared to your past coaches. No class!!

“I didn’t play well today,” Mallett said after the Texans 22-13 loss to Cincinnati. “I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn from five yards away.”....

With the run game faltering, Mallett had 50 percent more attempts through the air than he did in last week’s win at Cleveland. Alfred Blue, who had 156 yards against the Browns, had just 46 yards on 16 carries against the Bengals defense.

“As an offensive line, that’s all I can really assess as of now until we watch the film but we have to be more consistent in the run game,” center Chris Myers said. “That starts from the first quarter on. We can’t not run the ball and establish ourselves on the ground.”

Mallett said he didn’t need to check out of plays very often, but just needed to execute better. His command of the game was still a strength for Mallett, according to Myers.....

Lol. Matrix may have some competition.

You have a problem with me being too straightforward and reactionary.

Texecutioner and SteelTexan's ***** asses (among others) had a problem with me being too complacent, satisfied with mediocrity and reluctant to call for Kubiak's head and God knows what else.

.....which is it? I can't be both.

For what it's worth, I have that loser TexansFight on my ignore list and have had him there for months now. Don't lump me in with that jabroni.

That was possibly the best exchange I've ever read on this board. Y'all had me laughing like a lunatic. ***** I needed those laughs.

He fails at those also.

i'm not sure if it was talked about earlier in the thread, but can we get some love for kareem jackson after seeing what life's like without him? it didnt matter who subbed in opposite joseph, they got abused - and then trucked after the catch. there were some solid plays, notably after we started sending the house, but it was too little and too late. our secondary just doesnt have the talent level to lose joseph or kareem for any significant amount of time.

I don't know.... I thought Morris and especially Rolle were solid when pressing at the line. I think Rolle has very high upside, closes on the ball very well.

I think Rolle does better coming forward. Morris chasing

Could we maybe have a secondary of Rolle at FS and Swearinger at SS? KJ at the slot with Morris and JJo at corners?

Coverage wise Daryl Morris did a great job. Probably as well or slightly better than kareem would have done. But the only thing we really missed from Kareem was his tackling. That guy can tackle and I saw a bunch of missed tackles from Bouye and the other back ups.

What a tough loss. Soo close, yet soo far. Ryan M. had such a shitty day overthrowing almost every pass. Seemed like they had their way with us on 3rd downs and just moved the chains and killed the clock on their drives.

I'm a KJ fan & I want him back. But I don't think we did that poorly yesterday. I'm sure the gameplan was to keep their receivers in front of us & not allow the big play..... which for the most part they did.

As a defensive unit, they kept them out of the end zone enough & they kept the score in reach long enough for us to be in the game late in the 4th. A shut out would have been nice, but there's a big gap between shut down & blown out & we were closer to shut down than blown out.

A competent offense would have helped tremendously. A competent QB would have helped tremendously (not that I'm closing the book on Mallett, but yesterday he was clearly the biggest problem).

The thing I missed the most was Kj's physicality at the line. Dalton was getting the ball away too quick, the receivers were getting into their routes way too quick.

I normally don't have a problem with playing off the ball & yesterday wouldn't have been any different had our DBs drove on the ball when the receiver showed he was about to catch the ball, or if they had eyes on the QB & saw him loading up.

We either needed to get physical at the line, or we needed to drive on those catches & break them up. Instead, they were waiting on the catch then tackling.

Giving their WRs 10 yards cushions might've help that too. Pisses me off. Easy slants, curls, crossing routes, etc.

I can't stand bend, but not break defenses. We keep hiring these stubborn old DCs

Hey guys. My son and I had a great time at the game yesterday and are headed back to the cold in a little bit. NRG stadium has a great environment for the fans and everyone was great with my son and I.

Can't really complain about the a texans not being able to run. The stats don't show what the Bengals defense looks like when players are healthy. I mentioned how they use Maualuga differently and it showed yesterday.

Closer to shut down than blown out ?? Maybe but the Bengals controlled that game. If not for the pick 6 that game wasn't close in score. Had the Bengals secondary held on to 2-3 of the 5 throws that hit them in the hands and the game is a laugher.

I'll be rooting for the Texans with my son the rest of the way, but that loss hurt them with the Colts winning and having a fairly easy schedule the rest of the way.

Again, great time and good luck the rest of the way !!
