I think it's important to note that this is how I personally rate and value the prospects, not where I think the consensus rates them or in what order I think they will get drafted.

I'll start with Baylor and try to figure out why Bryce Petty has digressed so far this year vs last year.
He's not scrambling as effectively as years before (most likely because of back injury) and is forced to play from the pocket more. He's already not a very accurate passer and is not effective against pressure. Teams are starting to send more blitzes and asking Petty to beat them deep in the face of pressure because they know his mobility is now limited.
Staying in the pocket more is meaning that he faces more pressure now and the results have not been good. With limited mobility his completion percentage in down 7%. We saw the same thing with RG3 when he played with limited mobility in the pros. His completion percentage was down 6% in his 2nd year.
You can see the flaws in the QB's who run these offenses when you take away their legs. They are used to getting out of the pocket and extending plays and waiting for someone to get wide open. Which will happen because it's almost impossible to cover 5 WR's for more than 5 seconds while a QB is taunting you with a scramble.
Take the legs away and make them stay in the pocket and the effectiveness drops dramatically. LSU did this against Manziel to great effect. You have to be able to win in the pocket to make it in the NFL. We're seeing a lot of these spread QB's just don't have the ability to do so because they never developed it. They relied on their dual threat ability all through college.
I agree with your assessment of Manziel and LSU. Missou also did the same to Manziel and why I wouldn't have drafted him. As for Petty besides taking his legs away when he is in the pocket his ball placement and accuracy is terrible.
He's not scrambling as effectively as years before (most likely because of back injury)...
Do we know what exactly his back injury is? Wondering how it'll impact his draft stock.
and then all of sudden Petty is playing like it's 2013.
I'm going to disagree with y'all a little bit. You just don't go in to Norman OK and put a whippin on the Sooners. Not many teams can do that. I have been one of Petty's biggest critics most of this year but today he looked the best I've seen him all year. I don't disagree that he was throwing a lot of 5 yd slants and bubble screens. However that is not the knock that used to be. 5 yard slants and bubble screens are more of the norm today both in college and the pros.
I'm watching real football now, SEC SEC SEC.![]()

I was really hoping LSU would beat Alabama simply because I wanted TCU in the top 4 in the polls.
I'm still not seeing any "wow" QBs. Any old school big pocket passers hiding in the weeds?
