So .... Who's your QB in 2014 ?! - [edit] Mallett?

That corner pass to Tyms looked pretty good. But that was as much, maybe more, a really good play by Tyms. Mallett just threw the ball to a spot and Tyms did the rest.

Not pretty, but ALIVE!
I'm not talking about the draft. I'm talking about Bill O'Brien & George Godsey spending real time with Mallet after the draft. He's got a team now that is in need of a QB. Sure, he's new & there's a honeymoon period, but nothing begets winning like winning.

Doesn't make sense to play games & quibble about the cost of a guy you feel can be a franchise QB. If we're going to wait 'till next year, they don't think he's a franchise guy.
I think you're on to something.

Mallett has looked ok working with and against 2nd/3rd team tonight.

Would have had a great TD throw with a more talented WR last drive.

Against?? I'll post the video of me burning my Texans golf bag if Mallet ever plays a down for the Texans.
I would love to see that.

Not that I would like Mallett to be the Texans QB. Even though I do believe he would be better than Fitz.

BUENO!
Man, I want one of those puppies myself but they won't put them on sale.

...in fact, don't burn it; I'll trade you an old Mario jersey for it. You can burn that instead.
:D
To get Obsi a cool golf bag I'll throw in an assortment of old Texans jerseys belonging to players long gone just to fill out the bonfire and make sure you get your money's worth Docbar.

And to further sweeten the pot, I'll throw in a VY jersey that I bought just in case I was wrong about him not being worth drafting.
...I can't think of a better use for that thing

Damn man, I'm thinking of taking up a collection to get you a Texans golf bag just to get the chance to light that S.O.B. up! :hmmm:

#Patriots are expected to hold QB Ryan Mallett out of the final preseason game, source says, as opportunities around @NFL become available

The #Patriots won’t deal Ryan Mallett until they feel comfortable in Jimmy Garoppolo as a backup. Thursday will tell a lot for them.
Doubt that a 4th game playing mostly scrubs is going to allow the Pats to risk a non vet backup to Brady (even if Garrapalo shows relatively well).

Worth noting, whether talking about Ryan Mallett or anyone: #Texans have No. 1 waiver claiming priority. Could be a huge weekend for them.

If I was going to spend a draft pick on anyone it would be Mark Sanchez.
Now before you laugh, check this out...

7 of 10 for 79 yds against the Bears
11/12 for 117; 2 TDs and 1 pick yds against the Pats
7/9 for 85 yds against the Steelers

That's 25 of 31 for 281 yds against three pretty decent teams - okay two, the Steelers look like they may suck this season. But still, nearly 300 yds, an 80.6% completion percentage, two scores, no sacks, and not a butt fumble to be seen.

At this point, there's no way the Eagles trade Sanchez.
...but if they would...

LOL

:thumbup

PS: I would have repped you but I can't
You got to let that one play go. That's sooooo last season.

I don't know what Chip Kelly is feeding him but I wish we could order a box for our QBs because he looks NOTHING like that butt-fumble guy.

I wasn't joking.
Apparently Chip Kelly is the QB-whisperer.
He made Nick Foles look like a real starter.
He made Sanchez look like a competent backup
He even taught Vick how to be humble enough to take a backseat to someone else.

Can we get Kelly to make a house call to "whisper" to Fitzpatrick, Keenum, and Savage?
Hell, I'll even kick in $50 for his plane ticket.

If Mallet gets cut, I'm wondering if you guys would support replacing Keenum with Mallet?
The real question is would OB? If he thinks that's the way to go I'm fine with it. If he doesn't make any effort to do it then I trust his judgment.

There's a reason why the Patriots drafted 'Polo and why they haven't been able to move Mallet. I think OB gets it and that's why he's stayed away too. Everybody else see's him showing no interest and all that does is reinforce what they already think. Nothing to get excited about here.

I wonder if the rest of the league is looking at the Texans and noticing that they aren't trying to get Mallet. That would be very telling to me, since OB knows him probably better than any other coach out there.

A crucial Texans game in August? It is for Keenum In case anyone missed it.

No one will admit it openly, but when Tom Savage led the Texans down the field to a touchdown in the final few minutes of last Saturday's preseason game against the Broncos, the team's depth chart changed at quarterback.
The win didn't count. The game-winning drive did.
Don't let the pooh-poohed facts that many of the players on the field were undrafted free agents and have little chance of making the final roster ruin the dramatics of the story.

If Belichick is at the point of cutting him, surely OB would spend next year's 5th on him... or our 5th & 6th, or whatever it will take to make sure we get him.

But if OB is willing to let some other team grab him, that tells me he doesn't think very much of a Ryan Mallett. St. Louis needs a QB. They may be willing to give NE a 4th, or even a 3rd... but it doesn't look like O'Brien is worried about not getting Mallett.

We are first on the waiver wire.
