Houston Texans @ Arizona Cardinals, 7:30 PM **Official GameDay Thread** Preseason Gam

Really disappointed in the first half.

The team looks confused on both sides of the ball.
It's like no one is sure of what they are supposed to be doing.

Did we try to change too much in one offseason?

I have never seen a "first team" offense play an entire
half in the first preseason game. To me, that says
"bad omen"

I hate Spencer Tillman so much. If I had millions of dollars I'd enter into negotiations with him to see if I could pay him enough money to leave Houston's airwaves forever. Preseason is like a four week gauntlet of listening to this fool babble.

"When a young man has been given the opportunity to make plays in the pre season, he needs to rise up and show the coaches what he can do..."

Spencer "Captain Obvious" Tillman

I know it's only a preseason game, but... Do you like what you're seeing? You do not!

I stepped out for a bit.

Did Ryan Fitzpatrick throw two or three INTs in the first half?

I want Case Keenum to start. Tom Savage to backup. Fitzpatrick is a third stringer in my eyes...

After the first half, I am very unimpressed to say the least. And it's scrub time now, so we've see what the starters can do. For the second half, hopefully Keenum does a good job and redeems the offense.

No it was, but should have never made that throw. Eat the sack, kick the FG and move on...IMO
Ryan Fitzpatrick is a smart QB but the guy lacks winning intangibles. He's not the kind of guy who will lead us to a Super Bowl. We don't have a QB like that on our roster.

Case Keenum is our best bet. He has good leadership he's just too small. Give the guy a chance with our hopefully improved defense and running game. We need everybody healthy. Not having Andre Johnson, Arian Foster and Brian Cushing obviously hurts. I thought Watt looked good tonight. He had an 8-yard sack. Clowney is at 65 % healthy right now. Hopefully in a month he'll be closer to 90 % and ready to cause some havoc against RGIII and the Redskins.

I see a team that looks like it wasn't capable of digesting
all of the changes in the playbook on both sides of the ball.

Disorganized, confused, and out of position..

On a side note, the O-line looks like it can run block at least.

I know it's only a preseason game, but... Do you like what you're seeing? You do not!

Only reason why this game is still on my television is because of Keenum. Hopefully he can put a light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully that light isn't a damn train.

I cut a lot of slack to the players for learning a new system, but Fitz should've looked better out there. He's more of a known commodity as a 10 year vet. He won't keep that job long if he doesn't tighten things up.

If what is in bold is true, then the Texans are screwed beyond belief this year,

Despite what we've all been fed by the media and the Texans, it's a rebuilding year. I don't expect the playoffs or any semblance of that. I do expect them to play better though. Fitz was sub-par, and that's being nice. We'll just have to wait and see what Keenum and Savage can do.

Why do you say that? In the 8 games Keenum played in last year the Texans would have won 5 of those games if we had any consistent running game or reliable defense. We must have blown leads in half of those games. Double-digit leads against the Colts and Patriots at home.

Obrien with an excellent Arian Foster impersonation.
you got it backwards... where do you think Foster got that mantra?

by the way, how is that "make 'em earn the logo" and taking down all the individual awards strategy paying off?
