I don't know what else to say, other than the guys who are saying AJ needs to STFU because he makes a lot of money can ram it up their ass.
Dwight Jones did not show up the first time he was a Texan are you certain he would if given second chance? No more hand wringing and gnashing of teeth. The solution is easy.
Sign Dwight Jones from the Jets practice squad. Voila! "The next Andre Johnson!"
http://www.battleredblog.com/2013/6...ans-offseason-a-year-after-he-quit-the-texans
he prob will end up with the Patriots cus that seems to be the #1 des for Old vet WR chasing a ring
Im telling you right now,
if andre johnson leaves you can blame that on this years draft where they did not really address the most glaring weakness of the team:
the quarterback.
They had a chance to get the pick of the litter but waited until the 4th round and they got some dude that's already balding.
I mean i dont blame dre at all, he has restructured his contract several times and what thanks does dre get?
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Ryan Mallet
Tom Savage
The texans had the first overall pick in every round yet they wait till the 4th round. Why would you wait that long to pick a player in a position that is the most glaring weakness on your team?
It just reeks of stupidity and i dont blame dre one bit for not wanting to be part of it anymore.

I don't think he's overpaid, but I think he's incredibly well paid, and he's been incredibly well paid ever since he came here in 2003, and it was obviously compensation terms that he and the Texans mutually agreed toWell maybe if you could ball like him, you could show him how to act (laffo) like a pro and I'm sure you wouldn't have any ego whatsoever with how you conducted yourself.
People who bring up how much a particular athlete makes whenever said athlete makes a statement they don't like are a special kind of stupid and seem like they have no actual awareness of what goes on outside of their personal little bubble. There's no point in bringing up how much Andre Johnson makes when discussing comments he's made to the media because it is a strawman argument that sounds like you just want to rail against all those "overpaid athletes".
If the Texans graded this years' QB's as closely as reported, I'm more than happy that they waited until the 4th round to pick one.
Just because you need a QB doesn't mean you need to draft one with a high draft pick just because you need one.
Draft position doesn't equate to success.
If all of the QB prospects grade out to the 4th round on your board, taking one in the 2nd isn't going to improve his chances of being successful in the NFL. It just means you passed on a different player that did have a better chance.
I'll freely admit that I would've moved back up in the 3rd and taken McCarron...
And hopefully one day you'll have the nuts to respond to this ------> http://www.texanstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2280358&postcount=961.
Not holding my breath, however.
I lost a lot of respect for AJ after these comments. I mean come on in all reality we have not lost that much to this team. Hell he is the one who said Keenum had that it factor about him and he's still here. Foster will be back next season we had a damn good draft.
Whoever starts at QB will have to really try hard to play as bad as Schaub did last season anyways. So things can only get better. So wipe your tears and enjoy making your millions and millions of dollars.
Oh and dont go 12 years being the perfect model athlete and then when you start to get a little pepper grey in the stach try to become that old grouchy bastard down the road.
AJ has earned the right to say whatever is on his mind. There is no other man on this earth who has put more blood, sweat, and tears into being a Texans wide receiver and getting so little in return.

so was my replyDude.
Joke.

I mean, we have DHop, Posey ( still not sure of him with the Achilles injury), Martin and Bonner. Does BO'B really feel confident going with that group?
I see what you're saying, but I think the team soured on Lemon. Just saying. You're forgetting Alec Lemon, Doc, who happens to be Syracuse's all time leader in receptions. Who also blew it up in the last preseason with 8 receptions, 89 yards, 11.1 avg, 1 TD.
If anyone could be our Victor Cruz it would be Lemon. The guy just separates.
...and not Andy Cruse, Mike Thomas, Rico Richardson (wtf?), Uzoma Nwachukwu (The other Texans' WRs you forgot to mention.)![]()

It would be tough to say goodbye, but by the time we have a Super Bowl caliber QB again, AJ will be retired anyway. It's better to get something of value while he's still a 1,500 yard threat than to wait until we have to give him away to some sucker team like the Bills did to us with Moulds.
Not about to read 18 pages of this junk, but to all of you that were trashing Mussop, maybe you should ALL own up to it.
No one owes it to anyone to share that stuff, but he did, and yall trashed him for it. That's not how you get inside scoops in the future FYI. I'm sorry for all of them Mussop.
I do not see McNair guaranteeing anything. AJ has a very good contract and should earn at least the next two years. If injured and cannot play (risk players take) he at minimum gets a buy out. Like another poster said a few pages back, O'Brien and McNair should convince AJ there will be significant improvement in record this season and possible play off through wild card if nothing else. To other issue posted elsewhere, AJ did agree to restructure which in fact guarantee him millions he would not otherwise have gotten as quickly. He made a bit of interest $ off those "sacrifices" which was teams way of saying they appreciated him.I love AJ, and I think (just me) that he wants to take care of the business side.
I don't blame him; the Texans do need to guarantee more, if not all of the remaining of his contract.
In my thinking, he's been around long enough, and have seen guys getting cut left and right.
What if he gets injured this year? Is he going to be purged like O.D.?
If the Texans want AJ to retire a Texan, they just need to take care of him as best as they can.
I don't think AJ is an unreasonable person.
But it's business, just the way the owners want it.
I was going to post something about mussop putting his credibility on the line....
but mussop.
I love Andre but realistically,
If we trade him we have to eat like 12 million. Maybe a cap expert can help me with this but that's my understanding.
We aren't going to get much for him with the contract he has and the age he is at. Maybe a 3rd round pick? Nobody wants to take on that contract for a 32 year old and give up multiple picks.
So we take a 12 million dollar hit and give up one of our best players for a future draft pick?
I don't see it happening. I think Andre is going to be here regardless.
Fair enough, even if you do overestimate your ability to effectively communicate the tone of your comments online.
Where in Cali are you? I've been in SoCal for the last 18 months. You California guys could use more than a few lessons in manners and showing respect. Especially where the ladies are concerned. I open a door for a lady and say yes ma'am a couple of times, she damn near throws her panties at me. On second thought, don't change a thing.
derail over.
I've spent the last year in El Centro, so yeah...Just got back from OC a couple of hours ago.
It's in the high 90s there and a cool 60s here in H-town.
What the hell is going on, dude?
Joining the party late ... soo how many "screw Dre, if he leaves I hope he ruptures his ACL cuz Im da bestest Texan fan everrrr" posts?

Shouloda saved the old people post for you... just sayin...Haven't seen any of that. Sure you aren't wanting that instead of actually reading that from someone?
Spotrack has Texans at almost $14 m under cap and over the cap at $12.43. We still have room after allowing for draftees and UDFAs.That's how I understand this whole thing as well. Which means, since we are up against the cap already we would have to cut players already under contract just to get rid of him.
I'm not really worried at all about this, regardless how it turns out. Most likely he'll be here unless he retires.. and by the slim chance he isn't, we need to except the fact that day is coming sooner rather than later anyway. Houston is going to have to face life after Dre eventually.
It would be nice to get him into the HOG though.
no just get him into hog. that's a joke and I am working on my delivery. I could say some think he is being hog already but...Hall of God?
