NFL playoffs 2013-14

I sooo hate harbaugh....dude whines soooo much. By extension that makes me hate the 49ers...would love to see the panthers take these dudes down.

Carolina has gotten away with pass interference on a number of occasions today. Mikell blatantly sought a player out and got in his face and no flag.

Bad calls both ways, IMO. Including the last TD that SF was almost not given.

******

I'm watching this game with red and gold shades so take my thoughts with a grain...lol. The flop by Newton was just pathetic.

I'm no big fan either, but I like a coach that works the sidelines like he does. Those antics actually pay off in my opinion. I just hope O'Brien does some of that next year.

Don't really care who wins the games today. It's kind of nice to just watch the game for what it is. I'd kind of like Manning to lose, but that would mean that piss ant Phillip Rivers would have to win. Either way I'm not happy with the ending.

Best coach in the league not named Belichick. 3 years at SF and looks like he might get his 3rd NFC Championship appearance.

Damn. SF really needed to punch it in while Carolina was down to make it a three-score game.

This situation right here makes me nervous.

That might be true and all...but he has a really punchable face.

What's funny to me is when I see his brother I think he's a dead-ringer for the blond girl in Halloween that got it with the telephone chord. P. J. Soles, I think her name is.

Indeed.

Saying that the guy is annoying is not the same as saying he can't coach.

Didn't mean for it to come off that way. Just saying, his behavior doesn't bother me at all. Dude is a winner.

Of course, as you well know, he's my favorite coach in the game right now.

Am I the only one who thinks a fake punt, up by 13 with :14 on the clock, a little tasteless?

I'm glad the Niners beat the Panthers, but didn't like that call.

Question about the Seahawks -

What would you rank their offensive and defensive line? Average, above average, or top in league?

And for the defensive line - how much of the ranking is because of that backfield they have?

I am starting to wonder if perhaps with a "QB friendly league" if have an elite backfield and having an above average defensive line is the way the league will go. (Obviously that goes after solidifying the QB position...)

Just starting to think out loud...

It became obvious to me that reputation gets the elite defensive backs blind refs. They were getting away with things we would be flagged for every play. We'd get 200 yards in defensive penalties playing like Seattle does, but they have the rep and the blind refs.

I thought it was partially a response to fearing a blocked punt runback in that situation.

I guess so. IF so, it seems a little "Chicken Little" to me. No harm, no foul, I guess. I watched the meeting at midfield and there were no hard feelings to be seen.

They were probably just trying to avoid a blocked punt. Carolina was sending everyone so why not get the first down and kneel on it? Better than risking a blocked punt.

I seriously doubt he did it with the intention of running it up or rubbing their nose in it.

Harbaugh seems like the kind of coach who is going to take what's there no matter what the score is. I don't think it's personal.

Yeah. I think my word "tasteless" was the wrong word. I doubt it was to run up the score, but I did see it as over-the-top precautionary, jmo.

Oh well. I'm glad it wasn't a big deal on the field. After the way the players had been towards each other all game that could have been a mess!!...lol.

Luck looks like a future HOF in one drive and then looks like Ryan Fitzpatrick on the next. The dude is good but damn he needs to cut down on the turnovers if he ever is going to be considered great.

Yeah, he's been playing for a whole 2 years now, so he'll never will get any better.

(I'll let you figure out if I'm being sarcastic.)

To beat Denver you have to make sure you dictate the tempo of the game on both sides. Control the ball on offense with the run and the short passing game. On defense, hold your looks til the last second so that Peyton can't read the defense pre snap. Disrupt the routes and get pressure without blitzing.

You can give up yards but let it turn into FGs and not TDs. Tall order but it can be done.

Phillip Rivers is a whiney little b!tch. I started this game not giving a ****, now I want Denver to crush them.

Nice cut, ex-Texans regime.

76T loved Keenan Allen. I was concerned about his knee/surgery. 76T was spot on.

Thank you, Broncos, for (likely) keeping the AFC CCG out of Foxboro. Outside of their home field the Pats are a thoroughly mediocre team.

and Peyton isn't?
how many times has he begged up on flags..?
My Peyton-hate trumps my Rivers-dislike.
too bad both of them can't lose.

Next week will be when the real big boys play.

Kind of hard to complain about next week's Championship games in terms of potential good games.

I would love to see San Francisco go to Seattle and shut them up, but my money isn't on it.

In the AFC I'm forced to pull for the Broncos. Yuck.

Historically I'm in the AFC's corner during the Super Bowl, but if San Fran gets in that changes for this year.

I don't really like any of the four teams left. But as long as Tom Brady and the Pats go down in flames I can live with any of the outcome.

I want to like Seattle over San Fran but Seahawks fans are getting obnoxious (almost more so than Boston fans), the team is restricting sales of tickets next week to Pacific Northwest states to gain even more of an advantage (sound positively Belichickian), and that makes it hard.

And Denver? With Manning it's harder for me to root for them but I'd take them a million times over the Brady-Belichick Evil Empire. I'd even root for the COWBOYS over the Pats.

Well, he's a 9/11 truther, so he can have all the "swag' he wants, he can still go **** himself.

That's still an awesome GIF though. Ric Flair-esque.

Glad they're winning right now though, because I know a few Saints fans who I can't stand. Don't want them to be happy.

You've got serious issues

Awesome post. I wanted to cheer on the Seahawks but you are right, dam fans are up there with the Pats and Cowturd fans. They act like they have been here before. I guess I will go with my childhood second team, the 9ers the rest of the way.
