Houston Texans @ New York Jets. 7:30. 10/8. **Official Monday Night GameDay Thread**

I was watching the news earlier and saw some Texans fans in New York for today's game suited up in Jerseys and wearing Joe Texan skull masks with fake multicolored dread-locks. WTF MAN!? JOE...THEY'RE RIPPIN' US OFF!!!

I hate to blame the Oilers totally for the Doubting Thomas that causes me to be a nervous wreck every game day - or night - as the case might be. I think that watching the Texans lose for the last 9 years hasn't helped either. Being able to lose at the last minute seems like a Houston tradition.

But, with each win I'm getting better. A few more wins and maybe I'll be almost cured!:spin:

Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting a not so good vibe about this game for some reason. I know we out match them in practically everything, but man, that feeling in my gut is getting to me

C'mon HOU-TEX, take some Pepto with a Crown Black on the rocks chaser. Your little tummy will feel just fine. *

*Not to mention it's a great set up for some killer Dutch Ovens. :D

Ahite, I'm gonna tie on something. Just don't know what it's going to be quite yet.

Good luck everyone! May the football Gods bless us again and we all come back to a happy TT board tomorrow.

I'm out! Going to get a long walk in before the game time blood pressure begins to escalate

It begins:

Yeah, I'm watching Monday Night Countdown, and all they want to talk about right off the bat is how many tix the Jets fans are trying to get rid of and how bad the Jets are. They can't start out talking about how good the Texans have been. All about the Jets, good or bad.:foottap:

Relax! I don't mind at all flying under the radar. The Jets are a train wreck, and what does the public like?... That's right, train wrecks. I know this is often a subject on this board, but I don't give two $hits about what the national media says. All I care about is if the Texans win. And that's the honest truth.

On a positive note, I posted this in the prediction thread. I thought I'd be nervous about this game, but for some reason I'm not.

===

I'm going to make a bold prediction that the Texans will stuff the run tonight... Less than 100 yds for the Jets rushing (that includes whatever they do with Tebow).

Rivers McCown mentioned last week his conspiracy theory that the Texans trolled the Titans by allowing CJ to run for 140 yds, so they would keep using him. I add to it that they also trolled the Jets by baiting them into a game plan that calls for a lot of rushing. Except it's not going to work.

Good thing most Texans fans are too young to remember the futility that
was The Oilers. There are a lot of youngstas who are experiencing
a championship caliber football team in Houston for the first time.

It's gonna be on and poppin'

To my surprise, the ESPN coverage has been heavily Texans-centered
today. I'm actually enjoying the show.

Las Vegas opened the week with Texans favored by 4-1/2.
The odd has been climbing all week.
It seems to settle between 7-1/2 to 8-1/2 but has now mounted to 9-1/2 (most likely due to the mass of media picking the Texans.)
Man, that's a huge jump.

...

I was about to post that when I found out that I need to reset my router.

That was some 10 minutes ago.

Now, some lines are up to 10, including Ceasar, Harrah and SportsBook.

That's crazy!

And we're already a 5 to 5-1/2 point favorite over the Packers.

Scary! :texanbill:

Don't you hate it? I do. I have every reason in the world to be nothing but excited about this game and still, in this little corner of my mind where Columbia Blue left a huge pee stain after marking it's territory I feel the other shoe slowly coming down (whether it is or isn't matters not).

I'm thinking class-action lawsuit to make the Titans pay for therapy for us and those like us.

That's why I love the way we beat the Broncos. I always hated them because they were so lucky. I've never seen another team in any sport get slapped around so much & still end up on the winning score. Meanwhile, everything that could go wrong would happen to the Oilers.

Made the win against the Broncos that much sweeter. Then again, the Texans are not the Oilers. When JJ Watt scored that touchdown, I remember wondering why the Oilers never did something like that.

The prime time payoff question. Who will gain more yards, Matt Schaub or the jets offense? Is that enough respect for you? Also, Arian is awesome "Why wouldn't you want to learn quantum physics?".

The Oilers really did a number on you, huh?

I've had the same vibe for a week now.

I hope this time I am wrong, the last time I had this feeling was against Dallas, everyone said I was crazy. (Which seems to be the kiss of death for me being right about it, whatever the feeling is about) Luckily no one has said that this time... so hopefully its not right.

You aren't alone.

The Oilers did a number on everyone.

Not looking forward to this game being on ESPN because of Jets slurpage. Let's beat their ass and put an end to all of that for the entire country to see.

Is that yall in the skull type, raider-esque skull masks we always see on TV?
