I wanted to get OLinemen earlier in the draft but they flew off the board and left me in a bad position to draft them. The Seahawks are losing their center, Chris Spencer, and they've got issues at RT and G. They do have Max Unger who is playing G and Russel Okung from last year holding down LT.

King has a ton of red flags but also a ton of talent and potential. He's a raw product at this point. If things work, out well, he could upgrade the RT spot although he may need to play G for a season as he gets his technique together.

Fusco is a small school guy. He's a converted tackle with pretty good technique but he's not a very nimble guy. He's not a center that's going to do a lot of pulling. But he's supposed to be a leader. If he works out, it allows the Seahawks to keep Unger at G.

The Patriots already took a feature back in the 3rd round but they are going back to the RB pool to take this all purpose threat. Because of the lack of RBs getting drafted, New England gets two RBs at least a round later than each should have gone.
 
The New York Jets select OT Jah Reid UCF with the 158th pick. Damien Woody will probably not be back and the Jets need some depth at that position.

I considered him in the 4th round but really wanted to address OL again. Was targeting OL early and just missed out on my guys in the 1st and 2nd rounds. I'm counting on Ike Taylor to leave once FA begins... so decided to address the position in the 1st with Aaron Williams - he'll end up starting for us but Brown should get some decent playing time this year.

The panthers add another weapon to an offense that lacked them last yr. Green is a 250 lbs TE who runs in the 4.59/4.61 range. He has really good hands also.

The Panthers have concluded their draft and have added athletic players at positions of need. They didn't get their QB this yr. But the Panthers used this draft to put most of the pieces in place when they get their QB in next yrs draft. (Luck, Jones)

The Panthers also added a 3rd 6/7th supp. picks that would also allow them to continue to rebuild the OL (What I would do) or add a LB. This draft is low end talent in rds 1/2 but top end talent late in this draft. IMHO

don't get me wrong, I think your picks are solid & logical except your basing the franchise forward with eye on Luck, cause Clausen may but probably may not pan out as a starting QB. I would have to go Gabbert first, then the rest sets up well for him.

And this is what I would've done. (I believe in Gabbert)

But JB made the Fairley pick (Which wasn't a bad one IMHO)

So I had to roll with what I was given. I'm very happy with the Carolina draft. Moreso than the San Diego draft. (Which I took alot of very talented athletes. But were not from top tier programs.)
 
Gabbert/Clausen.... to be honest I don't think either will be a top five (maybe even ten) QB in the league.

I think taking the sure thing DT was the better move.

I guess he has less than four hours to make his selection. He was on a few hours ago but did not post. He drafted pretty well, Green, Mallett, Ballard w/Casey & Lefeged group picks. Still could use a CB & Cortez Allen of the Citadel is a good one.

My next two CBs on the board are Chykie Brown and Cortez Allen. If I sort it one way, Cortez is the top CB and if I sort it another way, Chykie is. Devon Torrence and Justin Rogers are next up after that.
 
BPA would be the best way to go at this point in the draft.

So Brady Quinn finally made himself useful to the Browns by giving them the run-game they always wanted! The last time the Browns picked a fullback in the draft was 6 years ago when they selected Lawrence Vickers in the 6th. Vickers will be a free agent this year, and it sounds as if the Browns will not be retaining him, which creates a need.

There have been rumors that the Browns will go forward next year using Hillis as a FB, and Hardesty as the HB, but I don't agree with that idea. Spending a 6th on a FB that can develop into a lead blocker, will reduce the wear and tear on Hillis in the future and hopefully keep him fresh for the next few years. Owen used to block for Toby Gerhart, and well, if you can make Toby look like a 2nd round NFL prospect, then you gotta be pretty good... :D

The Browns need some help at LB, and Homan could prove to be a quality WLB in the next couple years. Being a Buckeye ought to make some of the fans happy too :D Thanks to Beerlover for the suggestion of this guy. I think he fits well with the Browns :)

solid draft for your brownies, two starters on the DL & another on the OL. Anytime you can get three alone you've done pretty good. The others all have potential to start, maybe not immediately but certainly down the road :)
 
The Arizona Cardinals select with their 6th rounder a player who has a lot of potential and relatively little experience.

From the USC Trojans, Tight End, Jordan Cameron.

Analysis
Long, lean muscular frame with prototypical upper- and lower-body shape and proportion. A versatile athlete who has played both wide receiver and tight end at USC. Displays quick, light feet and nice agility to shake defenders and create separation coming out of his breaks. Can stretch the field with good straight-line speed and second gear. A former USC basketball player, Cameron possesses great leaping ability, body control and timing to catch the ball at its highest point. Extends his arms to catch balls thrown outside his frame, and is a natural, soft-handed pass catcher. Turns upfield quickly after the catch and shows good acceleration to pull away from defenders. Could add 15-20 pounds of bulk without sacrificing speed or agility. Aggressive, fearless competitor who isn't afraid of contact. Still developing as a tight end after making the switch from receiver just before the 2010 season.

Negatives: Limited time on the field and late position switch has made it difficult to gauge development. Didn't catch a single pass until his senior season. May need to add some bulk in order to be an effective run blocker and get a consistent release against NFL linemen and linebackers. Inconsistent route-runner who tends to round off his patterns. Iffy run blocker who comes off the line too upright and struggles to seal off his edge.

Good overall athlete with a quick burst. Has good agility. Plays on the balls of his feet and can change direction quickly. Can make plays from sideline-to-sideline. Aggressive tackler and can make the big hit. Flips his hips open in coverage to turn and trail. Drops quickly and can get back and cover deep zones. Keeps receivers in front of him and his eyes on the quarterback. Very aggressive in coverage, regularly knocking receivers off their routes.

At this point, I'm just going BPA according to my board. I'm not drafting by need or anything like that. And this guy is the top of my board.

Analysis from CBS Draft Scout:
Positives: Has the thick, compact build NFL coaches prefer. Slides through holes inside with a jump-cut. Good burst in the open field. Keeps legs churning after initial contact. Displays the balance and strength to run through arm tackles, run over defensive backs and carry smaller defenders. Always leaning forward at the end of his carries. Follows fullback to daylight. Willing to lower his pads and drive through traffic in short-yardage situations. Sells play-action well. Strong pass protector who blocks with base and intensity.

Negatives: Lacks elite explosion into the hole and coming out of cuts. Walks thin line between indecisive running and picking through traffic. Occasionally bounces outside but is a much better north-south runner. Must improve pass protection technique, staying upright instead of lowering a shoulder. Suspended in February 2010 after being charged with misdemeanor assault for punching a fellow student during snowball fight on campus. Missed 2007 season with dislocated right hip; tweaked the injury in 2010 but did not miss time.

I really debated on whether to pick up Pat Devlin to groom as a possible Hasselbeck replacement. He was next up on my board after Carter. But I had Carter rated almost a full round higher than Devlin so I decided to stick with my board even though the Seahawks are jammed up at RB with Marshawn Lynch, Justin Forsett, Leon Washington and... uh... Chris Henry.

looking more & more like a done deal -

Southern Cal tackle Tyron Smith took a step towards the top of the draft Thursday at the Trojan's pro day. With every NFL team represented, the 20 year-old Smith timed a 4.91 40 while weighing in at 310 pounds. Despite his ridiculously long 36 3/8" arms, today Smith also increased his bench mark from 29 to 31 reps.

Playing at 280 pounds most of the year, scouts wondered if he could put on weight--and keep it on. But since the end of the year, when he had surgery on a torn mensicus, he's put on 30 pounds--including three additional pounds since the Combine despite working hard for this crucial workout.

Given his youth and the intensity of NFL strength and conditioning programs, Smith should be able to at least stay above 300 pounds early in his career and probably approach 320 as his body matures.

It appears the knee surgery is a thing of the past given his workout today. Combining a clean bill of health with the weight-room bench he showed today, the functional strength he showed on the field (playing well at right tackle at a svelte 280), sub 5.0 speed (with a 10-yard split in the low 1.7's) and exceptional footwork in drills means he could be the first offensive tackle off the board next month.
