NFL Draft 2010: Day 2

Eisen says we keep our two 3rd rounders and give up a 5th?

So we gained an extra 3rd rounder? I'm cool with that.
 
That other post was out of anger, I apologize. If not Gerhart, then Tate was my target in the mid rounds. I am ok with this pick, but it still hurts. The pick gets an A-, but the trade down weird **** gets a D.
 
NM, we traded the 62nd pick to NE, I'm guessing a 5th round since we only move up 4 spot. Maybe a pick next year? Hopefully it's Bennett instead.

Hopefully that guy we get with the extra 3rd will soothe the pain.
 
The Texans got a their RB and their CB. Now, they can start looking for value.
 
Worked out alright, didn`t it? Several guys had Tate over gerhart, and now we also gained another 3d and only had to give up a 5th. I´ll take that! O-Line, D-Line and FS still needs an upgrade - or we could go with a bpa now like Shipley.

Biggest needs before the draft:

CB - Check!
HB - Check!

they picked up an extra 3rd round pick. how does that get a D?

Not sure what planet has Shipley as the BPA at the moment.

Not sure he is even the best WR at the moment.

No he doesn't! It's an open position. Nobody has won it.

If he blows up and holds down the job, we will forget Foster AND Slaton's jersey number(s). That's how the NFL works.
 
Hardesty runs similar to Tate but with more moves, kinda' wish we went for Morgan Burnett and then a RB in the 3rd or 4th.
 
So we just drafted 58 and got Tate. Do we still have our 62nd and the additional 93rd?

If so, I go with Jordan Shipley and rip Peyton Mannings heart out!!!!
 
and the run on rb's is beginning with hardesty following tate off the board

I love the Tate pick and the extra 3rd. Now we can go safety and dt and plug our biggest holes. I am hoping we can land Morgan Burnett.

You have fallen in love with Toby and need to relax a little.

Last time I checked, we could use MORE early-round draft picks.

We just took an extra 3rd rounder by letting Gerhart slip to the Vikings, and we still picked up a running back in the 2nd round that a lot of people think is a very solid and logical pick for us.

Lance Z (last night) said he thinks the Texans don't know how to work the draft board, but it appears we just did in THIS round.

I like multiple 3rd rounders a lot better than multiple 4th rounders, and I sure as heck like multiple 3rd rounders vs. a 5th rounder. And we still got a good RB prospect in Ben Tate.

I give this a B+, at worst. Maybe an A if Ben Tate starts sustaining drives and scoring TDs in the red zone.

I dont think Gerhart is a franchise calibur back .... I think he will be good in short yardage situations but I dont see him as an every down back - He and Tate are very similar in that .... and Tate is a bit quicker. Ive said a few times that I would be happy with either but that Tate was my choice given both.

Getting the 93 pick from Minn and Tate was a nice move by the FO. Now if they could get Asamoah somehow .....
 
Gerhart fan here, but Tate was my 2nd choice. I think the team got a little cute and almost lost their target because of it. Overall, though, I'm OK with the move if the extra 3rd yields a starter.

Shades of Riverboat Casserley, though.

agreed. i like toby's but that guy wont outrun many nfl players which means he is by no means a franchise back. could be a good roleplayer in the right situation though. really like how day 2 is playing out so far
 
Golden Tate and Shipley will play similiar roles for a team and Tate just went off the board......

Anyway, my disapproval of the Shipley suggestion is that you are talking a mega luxury pick when there are glaring needs to be met on the Texans.
