NFL Draft 2010: Day 2

I was hoping Burnett and Jerry would fall to us but what the heck.

Still lots of good guys on the board.

Maybe Major Wright and Mitch Petrus or Tennant or Walton...

Last time I checked, we could use MORE early-round draft picks.

We just took an extra 3rd rounder by letting Gerhart slip to the Vikings, and we still picked up a running back in the 2nd round that a lot of people think is a very solid and logical pick for us.

Lance Z (last night) said he thinks the Texans don't know how to work the draft board, but it appears we just did in THIS round.

I like multiple 3rd rounders a lot better than multiple 4th rounders, and I sure as heck like multiple 3rd rounders vs. a 5th rounder. And we still got a good RB prospect in Ben Tate.

I give this a B+, at worst. Maybe an A if Ben Tate starts sustaining drives and scoring TDs in the red zone.

I remember reading that the Texans interviewed him or something, so presumably they know enough about him to make a good decision. I was worried that he would be bad in the 1st or early 2nd, but if we were to take him in the bottom of the third, I wouldn't have an objection...

I am pleased with this draft so far. I really am.

I'm just one fan, but it sure is nice to see Smithiak take a running back in the 2nd. And take one that has some legitimate credentials. I think they raised their game a notch this year because the pressure is ON after missing the playoffs by one game.

I do NOT like our free agency activity, however. But that's been balanced out by locking up DeMeco and retaining Pollard.

If we manage to grab two 3rd rounders who make a meaningful difference on our team this year, this draft is a home-run IMO. Four picks, in the early rounds, who make an impact on our team.

My pink soap is locked away in a safety deposit box for the moment.
 
Damn. I was hoping we'd get Chad Jones. The Astros wanted to draft him a couple years ago but he wanted to play football.
 
I am starting to worry about the players that we will draft in the third. At our need positions, there are not too many guys left.
 
Anybody know anything about Darrell Stuckey? Is he the brother/cousin of NYJ WR or Pistons PG? IIRC, he was a bright spot during the senior bowl. Thinking he may be a possibility with one of our third. Not much S to chose from now.
 
So, you guys that really follow the draft boards and college players, are there any lineman (either side) left that look good for us?

LOL.

Every year, the media build up a guy (this year it's Colt McCoy) during the off-season and then he doesn't get drafted early enough...and it's all of a sudden the end of the world.
