HOU-TEX
Ah, Football!
Stand up form your computer and slap yourself very very hard. Just so no to Mays. We have enough problems without going out of way to draft them.

I agree with NOT taking Mays.

How many carries/touches a game did DeAngelo Williams and Chris Johnson get? They're not built like Steven Jackson.
The fact is that Spiller has the skills to make a huge impact in our running game. He runs outside, he can hit holes up the middle, he can catch, he can return kicks if we need him to. If he and Slaton and Foster or whatever Goalline back we draft (please, God!) split, then nobody has to take too much beating over the course of a season.
If that's the WORST case scenario, I'll take it any draft day.
that being said i was in the 7-7.5 range last yr with cush when i shouldve been 11!
That's Justice' article in your link. I'd blow a cripple coon before listening to what he has to say. Kinda pissed I even clicked your link.![]()
Ditto. Spiller has a bit of Bush, some Chris Johnson, mixed with a splash of Brian Westbrook, and topped with a slight hint of Marshall Faulk.
I'm not saying I'll cry if they pass on him, but I would be excited about the possibilities and the guy is a threat to score every time he touches the ball.
Ugh. Justice called Houston a Hick's town in the comments section. Not real receptive to that. What a jerk. Ship him off to Nome.

Manning will eat the guy alive. His hips are slow. I get it he has a great forty and has highlight big shot hits. His straight line 4.3 leads you to believe that that will translate into football functional speed. But that straight line speed doesn't mean jack squat on third and long. He is not instinctive. He can not cover. there is no margin for error in this draft.
Hips matter more for CB's than they do for safety's...If I'm not mistaken, the texans safetys don't play a bunch of man covg and mostly play deep zones...Even if he doesn't have the fastest opening of his hips, I wwouldn't be too concerned about it...I'm more concerned about his recognition and closing speed...
I'm not into making matter-of-fact statments about players, but I do think that he is a really good physical specimen and opposing teams will have to take notice of him on the field...
I understand your concersns about his covg., but I just think that with the right coaches in a good system this guys has the potential fo be good..
If he has to cover all day long, he will probably not do as well, but if he is able to play facing the QB with a decent pass rush in front of him I think he will flourish...
If kyle wilson,cj spiller, dan williams and ryan matthews are still on the board, who do the texans take?

Andre looks funny polI still cant believe two teams past this guy up!
I'm terrified of spending another 1st round pick on a player from Fresno State, thus I'm hoping for Kyle Wilson due to the aerial attack that we will be recieving from everyone this year. He seems like the safest bet, plus he has dread locks which makes him faster and more agile.

Our secondary is lacking in dreads now. All good secondaries have dreads, we need (dare I say it) a dread head in the defensive backfield.
i disagree. who the best dreadlocked cb? al harris? asante samuel? i might be forgetting somebody but i cant think of a premier cb with dreads

il see your HWSNBN and raise you jared zabransky!
that being said id rather wilson over mathews aswell
Kyle Wilson is probably going to be available, unless we trade down and get another Duane Brown player (guy, no one knows anything about). Hope its Kyle Wilson, we need him.
Wouldn't mind Wilson, but McCourty would fit right in with our new "knock the snot out of you" defense. Plus, he's a good cover CB too. I like'em both

To me, it'd be between Wilson and Williams from the 4 mentioned here. I'd probably lean towards Wilson due to experience, whereas, Williams was more of a 1 year wonder, IMO
There are some insane rumors and possible draft picks coming on profootballtalk.com right now.
I'm going to call it... Texans take Tim Tebow.
