Gameday Thread: Colts vs Texans 11-29-09

I said it last week. You can't keep the game close enough to allow the refs to be an influence. The two field goals in the first half instead of touchdowns leaves the door wide open for that to occur. BS on the calls, but surely by now we know where we rank with the NFL officials.

Yeah, the first pass interference call was BS. If anything it was an illegal use of the hands, not a PI.

The second was pretty clear. Quinn ran through the WR and did not attempt to play the ball. No problem with that call.

Do I think the refs are giving them calls? Sure, but good teams overcome bad calls. We need to score a TD right here and not get discouraged by the refs,

YES! Thank you sir! The voice of reason. Play the game so that the refs cannot influence the game!

Well that's an interesting thought, but when the refs calls are breaking your rhythm, that isn't the team it is the freaking refs.

Oh please not that crap again. Of course good teams overcome adversity, but why should they have to? In fact, very seldom do "good teams" face the same, um, adversity from the refs that the poor, average, or above average teams face.

How often do the Colts get a call like that go against them? That was comically bad.

Can't even say that, it's obvious that we aren't going to blow out a 10-0 colts team, so the officials matter in ever single call. This could be the best team in the NFL. You cannot expect to win by 20+.

That pick was not on Schaub. AJ had the safeties beat, but pulled up on
the route. That was a huge gaff by Dre.

Well if we win enough games we will get those kind of breaks too. I think its silly to moan and complain that the refs are screwing us when we leave points on the field. We had 4 scoring drives and took 20 points(7+7+3+3). If we man up and get tds we put pressure on the Colts. Fgs don't help.

Enough with this conspiracy theory. One bad call goes against us and we fold? is that how mentally tough our team and our fans are?

What the Texans do have no bearing on the call itself. If the Texans ultimately win, does it change the fact that the refs made an atrocious, game-changing call in favor of the Colts? No. The ref who called it must be held accountable in the same way that players and coaches are accountable. I mean, get real. That was HORRIBLE.
