I just set up a Texans Talk Twitter and added a few posts to test it out. I will randomly be posting things and will be taking quotations from some of your posts and linking back to the forum.

What's also cool is we are following quite a few legit Texans players on there (thanks Diehard Chris for the insight on that via your site).

The Texans are the sole reason I joined that darn thing lol.

Most amusing Texans twitter pages belong to Slaton, Duane Brown, and Eric Winston
 
This Twitter thing is pretty cool. Where else can one interact with the players like that. Duane Brown just responded to the Texans Talk Twitter about keeping Schaub clean this season. We will definitely need a healthy Schaub this season so we won't be expecting any sacks coming from the left side. ;)
 
Probably a dumb question, but do you have to join to read the posts or can you just do it? I have an aversion to joining things and don't if I can avoid it.

You can just read the posts if you want, but by becoming a member it organizes all the people you're following onto one page so you don't have to scramble around trying to remember who all you wanna see. Also some twitter pages are private and if you wanna follow you have to become a member.

Sure you can. The sig is open to everyone to celebrate with Bud and his new victims ... errrr faithful fans I mean!

On a trivia note, the sig commemorates every season the Oilers/Titans broke the hearts of their fans in the postseason. Can you match the year to the team that took them down and the final score of the game that ended Bud's dreams of a Lombardi Trophy?

For example I will give you one ...

I am curious if anyone can do it without Googling the answers.

I just signed up on Monday. I get tweets directly on my G1. It's pretty good because as soon as something happens with the Texans now, I get the tweet on my cell.

Also anyone like Nick at HT.com or the TT one etc
 
I enjoy all the players I follow on Twitter. But I'm most impressed with James Casey (@jamescasey86), this young man has his head on straight.
 
I put up many links to Texans/NFL oriented stuff on a day to day basis. I don't comment on player sites or anything, but I do use the site as a viral marketing device for my two boards.

Haha -- give in to the dark side! I think the guys that are on twitter have been having so much fun, OD had to get on. Totally following him.

Had to back off of Slaton till the seasons starts. Boy just rambles on forever LOL

Duane Brown tweeted me back a couple times, it was really cool, came home and told my wife about it......what can I say, I am dork.
 
The best part of twitter is not the talking part, or leaving tweets, but mostly as a real time way to read stuff from people that you are interested in. Best place to read breaking news.

And by checking out who people follow, you can get some ideas of good people to follow. (I have some very interesting folks I follow--mostly NFL reporters, sports bloggers, players, and then random stuff like modern design and Radiohead news).

I resisted twitter for a while because I thought it might be time consuming, but actually it can be helpful for stuff. I have ubertwitter on my blackberry, and I often use it as a newsreader when I'm waiting in line bored with stuff. It makes the line at the grocery store go faster.

Really, it is a terrific way to communicate with people that normally you wouldn't chat with because you aren't around them. Players, reporters, bloggers, etc. Nice way to ask questions.

I totally agree with that about Slaton. It made me see him in a totally different light. Dude needs some focus in his life, seriously.

Now, I refuse to follow Jacoby...I can't believe that dude went to college let alone high school when I read his tweeting. I guess the politicans are correct when they speak on New Orleans public schools. smh or smbl as Slaton says.
