That's dang near a whole new roster of high end draft picks. Kind of expensive, don't ya think? :wild:

Dont expect to get all of them. Which is why I said "I will be a happy camper if we get any of these players at the value rd or later.". Of course there are more round 1 guys. These are players that I like and think would ake an impact on our team sooner rather than later. I expect some of these 1st round guys to fall into the second so if I have them I would be very happy with them with our 2nd rd pick and so on. Should of been more clear I guess.

That's great! Who/what do we get in return? A 7th rounder possibly? :shades:

And with that 7th rounder you pick

Larry Beavers, WR, Wesley
5'10" 175 lbs
27 catches for 558 yards (20.7 average) and 6 TD
13 punt returns for 379 yards (29.2 average) and 3 TD
12 kick returns for 503 yards (41.9 average) and 4 TD

Look at the averages. That is a big time play maker

the only way these players become Texans is if Rick Smith is somehow able to trade up......

Jason Smith 6-4, 300 5.15 Baylor Starter 1st rd

have not been super impressed with him, think he gets bull rushed to easy which will be a problem in the NFL. he is athletic but lacks bulk plus after taking Duane Brown doubt they go LT 1st rd. back to back.

Duke Robinson 6-5, 335 5.30 Oklahoma Starter 1st rd

like him in a trade down think he can lock down RG immediately

Max Unger 6-5, 305 5.25 Oregon (OT) Starter 1st rd center/guard/backup tackle.

not first rd. material or early-mid second for that matter.

Alex Mack 6-4, 315 5.15 California Starter 1st rd

would have to trade down once again, add picks while upgrading Center position

Brian Orakpo 6-4, 265 4.75 Texas Starter 1st rd

think he will be there for the Texans if they so choose to address DE pass rush, should be fully recovered for the combine & post some monster numbers sending stock skyrocketing, but I wouldn't chase him based on that.

B.J. Raji 6-1, 325 5.10 Boston College Starter 1st rd

as discussed in other threads I just don't see him as natural fit for this 4-3. Jerry Peria 6023 305 Ole Miss would be an excellent fit inside who could easily win a starting roster position in Fall Camp. everytime I watch tape I see a high motor non-stop pushing his man, collapsing the pocket with heat on the QB 4-3 DT. by the draft he should be the top tackle prospect in the draft if Cody stays in school.

Aaron Curry 6-2, 240 4.60 Wake Forest Starter 1st rd

this is one of the most likely sceneros, great impact playmaker for the defense & a position of dire need.

Brandon Spikes 6-2, 245 4.70 Florida starter 1st rd.

seems more like an ILB for a 3-4, does not have the length, quickness or change of direction the Texans need on the outside.

Malcolm Jenkins 6-1, 205 4.38 Ohio State Starter 1st rd

a real possiblity, Texans like big corners who are good in run support & Malcolm is the best, would have been top 10 last year if he had declared & not stayed in school.

Vontae Davis 6-0, 205 4.35 Illinois starter 1st rd

would benefit from another year in school, now pick would be based more on potential, something the Texans cannot risk.

Victor 'Macho' Harris 5-11, 192 4.50 Virginia Tech starter 1st rd

could be a FS, would pass until 2nd, seems to throw his body weight around with reckless abandon (injury/penalty issue if not controlled).

Rey Mualuga 6-2, 250 4.70 Southern California starter 1st rd

just cause he's been hurt does not effect my opinion, I know he plays MLB for USC but for the Texans would they consider moving DeMeco? I just don't think so.

James Laurinaitis 6-2, 245 4.60 Ohio State starter 1st rd

possiblity. Texans love work ethic & he has it. Diles is a huge question mark coming off a broken Tibia, I wish all the best for his recovery but feel he's going to lose some explosion & quickness. Laurinaitis is a huge upgrade anyway who can play very well on the outside as the SLB.

Jermaine Gresham 6-5, 256 4.72 Oklahoma 2nd rd

take a look in 2nd fine, big blocking TE with ball skills.

Brandon Pettigrew 6-5, 260 4.80 Oklahoma State 2nd rd

will not make it out of the 1st rd. a team like Philly will probably take him just a few picks after the Texans 1st (maybe a trade down for Houston & trade up for Philly).

Chase Coffman 6-5, 245 4.82 Missouri 2nd rd

amazing player but more in the Owen Daniles slot TE/WR position which he covers nicely.

Marcus Freeman 6-1, 245 4.58 Ohio State Starter 2nd

prefer Clint Sintim 6-3 255 4.62 Virginia is my personel favorite pick for the Texans in the 2nd. he is a beastly OLB/DE with serious pass rush skills.

Emanuel Cook 5-10, 205 4.52 South Carolina Starter 2nd rd

interesting SS prospect in the Bob Sanders mold. will keep an eye on him maybe one of those ascending players who don't get out of the 1st rd.

Out of your list I like Orakpo and Emmanuel Cook. As seen in my thread about Colt I don't think I would even get mad at Bradford if he is there. I think you have to go best player available and he certainly is to me but like others said, he will be long gone.

I think Emmanuel Cook will be a great player and if we can get Orakpo and Cook in day one, that is a very good draft.

What do you think about Moreno or even Coffee kid from Alabama?

Outside of Crabtree I'd take Terrence Cody over any player in this draft.

With the size and athleticism in the middle he is a rare breed of D-Lineman and the single biggest thing our team is needing.

This year's draft is total pants in the QB department. The next draft though, with all these wonderous underclassmen getting an extra year of seasoning could be legendary.

Expect Stafford to declare.

Either Davis or Bradford will declare too I think. Probably not both though.

I'm positive about Stafford though. He hasn't said it or anything, it's just my gut feeling. Scouts are in love with his rocket launcher arm and he will go top 10 if he declares.
