Texans Cuts and Waiver Wire

Wow Im surprised they cut Harrison but very happy about it. This shows that this coaching staff isnt going to accept potentail over production anymore. Thats a good sign.

Im also surprised Davis got cut.

I hope Foster clears waivers so we can put him on the PS.

Not to pick on you (yours was just the most recent quote), but I don't understand the fascination with Foster in here. I had high hopes for him, also, but he hasn't shown much of anything in the preseason games I've seen him in. In the last game, I was certainly more impressed with Hall than Foster.

How are you surprised Harrison got cut? He's been horrible

I know hes been horrible but our coaching staff has had a tendancy to keep players like Harrison in the past because of his potential.

I don't know if it was because of potential or lack of a better alternative. In this case Busing clearly showed to be just that, no-brainer imo.

Zgonina's Mom will be happy. I met her in KC and she was afraid he would get cut. She travels to every game the Texans play. Wish I could be so lucky! Anyway, glad he made the team.

I'm afraid he might get cut to make waiver wire moves or when Dunta comes back.

I like Beasing, Hall and Martinez making it...shows hard work and solid play will earn you a spot on this time...No more hand-outs...

He will probably still be on pins and needles until the middle of next week. He might be the guy released if there is an appealing option on the waivers at DT.

Emanuel Cook, SS, New York Jets has been released.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE sign this guy.

WOW, I hope we take a serious look at Cook, he's got to be better than Barber. Along with Trevor Canfield and Marcus Freeman these would be 3 good pickups to add talent and youth to the Texans.

I'm a little disappointed that Davis got cut also. I really liked his hustle & he wasn't afraid to put a lick on someone. Oh well, you can only keep so many linebackers. It sure is a change of pace to be disappointed about players being cut.

As for the extra roster spot, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see the Texans trade Grossman for a draft pick. He's at his highest value right now. Given that he's only signed for one season & we'll most likely lose him next year, I'll be surprised if we don't trade him. Too bad we didn't get a chance to pay Favre back for his cheap shot. :D

One will have to be let go when Robinson signs.

I would imagine White, Zgonina, Hall, Busing and Martinez are bubble players at this point. We'll see soon.

John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports the Houston Texans have reach injury settlements with LB Cato June (forearm) and FB Boomer Grigsby (ankle).

Terdell Sands was cut by the Raiders....giant DT and nasty....although I don't think Pitts would be too fond if he signed

I was thinking along the same lines. We missed out when Sage was at his highest value. Although I think the Texans are better with Grossman here as insurance.
