Texan-Steeler Prediction....

I'm hoping for a complete reversal, but honestly I might as well prepare myself for a loss. I don't think it will be near as ugly as Buffalo(hope not anyway) but if they surprise me and play well enough to pull out a win, I'd love to be wrong.

Being from Pittsburgh, I know both coaches all to well. Cowher in NO WAY will try to run the score up on Houston, and one of his favorite past coaches. They will run 85% of the time, grinding it out, making it the most boring game of the year to attend. If we blitz, our only chance, forcing Big Ben to read defenses, we may get a few turnovers. :texans: Our Offense, with Capers pulling the strings and not permitting Palmer to throw down field against so-so corners for the Steelers, or use three step drops, the Texans will play right into the heart of the Burgh, Run stuffing!!!! Carr throws for 150 yds, 3 ints, against a brilliantly run defense. Pittsburgh dominates!!!! :goodnight

Steelers - 24
Houston - 3

:texflag:

Screw it. This team is completely unpredictable anyway.

Houston 21
Pittsburgh 20

This is how you turn around a season!

Pittsburgh - 117
Houston - 9

Carr throws 8 INT's and is sacked 17 times before getting benched. Banks and Ragone both get sacked and injured on their first play. Jabar Gaffney enters the game at QB to lead the offense to its only touchdown.

Go Texans!

Man I cant wait got a nice lux box to watch the game in. the homer in me wants the Texans to pull one out and set the mark for the season. But the truth is we have a terrible OC and a good frustrated QB that needs to learn to throw while on his ***. I gotta go with the Burg.

Pitt- 27
Hou-10

Texans 31
steelers 13

On our 1st offensive possesion, Carr hits Andre on the quick out, Andre breaks the 1st tackle, puts a move on the 2nd guy and he's gone, 75yards later we're up by 6 just like that.

Steelers 1st possesion, they run all 3 times, and we slam it shut on them...they punt, and P Buch shows he can do it, makes a nifty return for 85 yards and we're now up by 14!

Steelers next possesion, after a block in the back penalty on the kick off, little Ben starts flinging it and Dunta makes a pick...from here on out, it's Domanick left and Domanick right, he gets 2 TDS on the day and 145 yards, the steelers go back to the rust belt 1-1 and we go to the bye week 1-1 and all is good in the Texans Nation!

Battle Red Bunch Rules!!!

REMEMBER these simple rules:
1. When we have the ball on offense, QUIET until the snap.
2. When the opposing team has the ball on offense, NOISE.
3. Repeat until victory is ours.

Thanks for the laugh....I really needed it this morning....

I'm going with my original prediction 2 months ago. I knew we were going to lose to Buffalo on opening day (just not quite in the fashion that they did).

But I'm going for a complete turnaround this weekend.

Pittsburgh-17
Houston-20

What I'm really thinking is something like:

Houston: 0
Pittsburgh: 26

But, hey, at least we can show off our new stadium to them!

That is right..David Carr, AJ and DD take it to the STEELERS and we WIN!!!

TEXANS-21
steelers-17

James H.
Houston, TX

Well I was wrong when I felt we'd beat Buffalo in the season opener so here's hoping I'm wrong again.

Steelers - 27

Texans - 20

The only way to beat the Steelers is to spread them out with the passing attack. Which offense shows up is anyone guess, but the way we've been playing hasn't been too good. We need to open it up and do as Carr says, be aggressive on offense and not play so conservative. That is our only hope.

Texans get it in gear.

Texans 23
Steelers 17

Who wins? I do because it is my first home game in a year. Nonetheless, the Texans 24, Pitt 14.

Iron City beer and Pramanti Borothers cheeseteaks don't travel well, so we may be able to drown out their supporters at the stadium. :)

By the way, after the game Cowher's jaw bone is put on injured reserve.
:texflag:

The steelers pick up where buffalo left off and decimate the texans
Late in the 4th quarter after the game has been decided and pittsburgh has gone into a prevent defense, the texans score a mercy touchdown

Steelers 30
Texans 10

Still trying to figure this one out. Did we miss the extra point and score a field goal or did our defense actually get enough push that they sacked Big Ben in the endzone?

I hope the Texans win but I don't think it will happen.

Pitt - 34
Hou - 7

I hope you are right, since I am from Pittsburgh. I really want to see Ben do well this year. If Fast Willie keeps it up, Duce comes in and pounds. Ben May throw 200 passes and have a great year

Y'alls predictions are rediculous!!!

Here is what is going to happen.

The steelers out play the Texans in the first half and are up...24-14 after a few crazy turnovers and both defenses scoring.

After sitting in the hot texas sun all day, in those black uniforms the steelers really start to feel the heat in the 3rd and 4th quarters...Texans come back to make it 24-24.

Big Ben drops back for the pass and Plaxico comes running out of the Tunnel (Giants uniform and all). Plaxico catches the 55 yard bomb for the TD. Totally confused the refs aren't sure what to do. While the refs are discussing it, Plaxico demads Cohwer pays him $600K in cash for the touch down, because that what he insists the fair market value of the touchdown is. The Steelers decline to pay Plaxico the money, but the Texans are willing to cough up the cash and the refs reward the TD to the Texans.

The Texans win 31-24.
there you have it folks.

PS: if the roof is closed the Steelers win 48-3

rothlesburger downgraded to questionable although its the defense and running game that seem to do it with this team and tommy maddux isn't half bad either its still a slight boost.

Yeah, but Tommy didn't do too well last time the Steelers played the Texans.

It doesn't sound like Roethlisberger has anything too serious going on, though. I'd bet that he starts.

The Steelers haven't changed their formula much. They'll run at you all day, Roethlisberger won't throw more than 20 passes, and they'll play rock-solid D. The trick to beating the Steelers this year will be getting out to a fast start, taking an early lead, and making Big Ben beat you with his arm. He might just do that... but it's still your best chance.

Hey what do you think will happen on Sunday? I mean will our Texans lay another egg or will we bounce back and win or at least play respectable?
On paper (after last week) this looks like a total mismatch but over the past couple of years we have seen the Texans loose and then come back with their A -Game. I am totally confused at this point. I believe that we have the talen but Palmers play calling has me baffeled. I just know that I will be there and as loud as possible to try and help in any way I can.

I say the Steelers win on the strength of their execution, but that they have to fight for everything they get.

Dude, exactly! :thumbup One of the great things about football is the 12-man. The fact that WE, as fans, can have even a little influence on a game (sometimes a big influence) is awesome.

It is up to us to keep the Steelers' offense from getting their groove. Missed audibles and false starts by opposing teams are our specialties, and we have to be fired up for this game. Plus, you know it pumps up our D!!

Anyway, I'm not sure what's going to happen. It's hard to get a line on the feel of the team right now, as it's so early in the season.

But I believe that they will put up a good fight and play like a team that has been working on improving.

His recognition and field vision are improving, but he still has a long way to go. We Steelers fans are hoping that the TE gets involved more in the passing game to spread the secondary a little thinner.

If Parker is for real, he could be a great weapon. You can't just flood the A-gaps against a guy with that kind of speed. Against Bettis and Staley? Meh.

I'll be screaming too (from up in the rafters, my tickets to this one stink) but I have a bad feeling about this one. I'm thinking they beat the stuffing out of us. Then they beat the stuffing some more. This kid they've got starting for Bettis and Staley is scary.

Maybe G-Funk(Walker) will actually get to the QB(Rothlisburger) and he'll get hurt and Pitt will have to send in Maddox. The Steelers get a boost and win 38-10. Who hurt Maddox to begin with??? Was it us??? Anyone have a copy of the last time we played Pitt, please send Capers a copy so he can actually have a Gameplan...

Steelers 17
Texans 3

The Steelers will run at as all day long and since we have a poor run defense they won't need to score a lot to win. It will seem like a blowout even if it isn't a high scoring game. But as always, I hope I'm very very wrong.

Well we have such a great O.coordnatior- we should dominate the steelers, like Charlie Weiss did! Chris is such an outstanding play caller, the score should be Texans 54 Steelers 21

Come on Charlie C. wake up and smell your coaches!!! (They Reek!!)

The gameplan from last time was to gain about 47 yards total offense. Tommy Maddox handed over three(!) touchdowns on turnovers. Pittsburgh had different offensive and defensive coordinators for that game. It wasn't the gameplan so much as a complete meltdown on the part of Tommy Maddox.
