People keep bringing up Lawrence and Wilson, and all these rookies struggling, and they are, and they all have way more experience than Mills who's played in exactly 13 college games, yet somehow, if Mills gets reps with the 1st team, look out. Hell, some of the QBs who've been around awhile still struggle, Brissett, Winston, and here we have Mills, the greenest of the green, where 1st team reps are going to elevate his game above them somehow.
The Texans averaged 3.7 yards per play in the 2nd half against the Browns. Down from the 7.2 yards they had in the 1st half. Even on the TD drive by Mills they averaged just 3.9 yards per play. 3 of his 5 drives were 3 and out, and 2 of those drives had zero net yards. Maybe not a disaster, but I don't think any of that was anywhere close to being in some sort of sync.
And yes, I know it was his 1st ever NFL action, I get it, but I just don't get the excuse making for him. Hey, he did better than Lawrence last week. <rolleyes emoji>
Mills just doesn't have the experience. Those other rookies do and look at them struggle. I don't see how anyone thinks it will be any different for Mills, even if he's getting those 1st team reps in. This NFL game ain't easy. Especially when you have very little experience.
