Watson is the only one in this case who lost his moral compass? Every woman who’s filed civil or criminal lawsuit against Watson operates their lives from a moral high ground?
Outside of “she said-he said little” there’s been no absolute evidence presented publicly except words of accusations. So, which group stands more firmly on the idea of moral high grounds hasn’t been proven in a court of law at this time.
I’m with Lucky on this one. I don’t think there’s any physical evidence to fall back on outside the first shake-down/blackmail move in this whole mess. Watson may be found guilty of a lesser charge. With no priors and solid community work in his background he probably gets some probation time, counseling, and community work. The civil cases would take a hit in this outcome and payouts, if awarded, may not be what Buzzbee and his clients were looking for. The NFL probably shelves him for 6 games to appease NFL fans.
A smart Watson would then come back to the Texans and waive his “no trade clause” so the team is free to move him to the highest bidder…..otherwise, the team could wait for his 6 game suspension to conclude then bring him to practice and announce that he’s the starter for the next game….if Watson refuses to suit up, Texans can suspend him without pay for conduct detrimental to the team. I wouldn’t even let him near the practice field, in the event he’d fein an injury. Texans need only inform Watson that they can do this far longer than he can afford to.
If this case concludes in a suspension for Watson…..I see the Eagles and Dolphins as the first teams to call. I see the Giants as a far horse if Jones still can’t get it going. If Goff doesn’t flourish in Detroit, they might become an interested team as well.
