It's getting ridiculous, and like someone said any big contact is drawing a flag...
I'm not trying to be all macho here, because the lord knows i wasn't some tough ass HS player or anything, but these hits are part of the game and it's up to the receiver as to whether he wants to take them or not... All he has to do is use that free education and choose a different line of work...
I'm not talking about the obvious helmet-to-helmets where a player launches head first into a player and ear-holes them etc... (looking at you, Dunta), but hits like Pollard's, where the defender is doing his job... Or when, as someone else mentioned already, a defender goes for a clean tackle and the ball-carrier lowers their head just in time for h2h contact...
You're seeing a lot of these called this year with no fine backing it because the NFL reviewed it and found it wasn't a penalty... That should tell you somethin...
I hope it changes because these good hits are leading to penalties that result in points that wouldn't have been there... Get it right, NFL!
