Thorsson is that you?
Couldn't be. Weeden isn't "middle of the pack" to Thorsson. He's the best!
It's the off season now, duplicate threads for the same subject will be rampant.
It most certainly wouldn't be if I was a moderator.
Actually, did that moderator thing once, not here, and not ever again. It's a royal pain in the ass, and totally drains all enjoyment of the site from you.
I know. It's just a minor tongue-in-cheek kick-in-the-shin reminder to the ones that are.

Eureka! So now I know why CAK is such a grumpy ass!
It's a joke, a JOKE.... sorry!
Another year of unimaginative offense where we run up the middle repeatedly with a scat back, throw short of the first down on third down, never scheme to get guys open and run slow developing pass plays that expose our OL and get our QBs killed. Sounds fun.
-i saw tk post elsewhere this was a qb friendly system and I believe it's just the opposite. (Sorry tk not a shot at you.) Kubiak ran a qb friendly offense. This offense is friendly to everyone BUT THE QB.
-The scheme and playcalling arent going to change.
He'll pursue another vet qb (like romo, cutler, bradford)

Jmo of course.

I don't know. Seems that O'brien's azz is on the line for next year. He better step up and make the offense work, regardless of who is QB. I'm thinking we will see a change with the offense.
Agreed. Just thinking now that O'brien's ass is on the line and he has no one else to share the blame with, he will realize his offensive pHiLosoPhy hasn't worked, and will make adjustments. Well, hoping he realizes that.
I don't see how anything is going to change. Let's be clear, this is his offense. It's his design.
Unless we somehow get a real NFL QB in here that can pick up this offense fast, this is a bad move.

after reading that article on play calling, I'm thinking we could see a big difference, and Godsey may have been just the first coach to go
Link?
This system is hell on QB's and WR's. They have to see and think the same things while keying of different things. Kubiak did run a truly simple offense for QB's. He had the I call the play and you do this offense.
That may be about the wr's but i haven't really read it or heard it in reports. (Maybe i just missed it.) It's been widely touted about the qbs again and again.
It's almost as if ob is proud of having a complex system. In fact the more complex it is the better right? Bs. Oddly, some of our better qb performances have been with guys new to the system playing the dumbed down version. Could be a clue ob.
He's mad about his Offensive Coordinator being forced out so as a result he has made the decision for now that if he can't have his guy then there will be no Offense Coordinator for his team. Period!!! And he could care less if the fans like it or not. Obviously Obrien, Smith and McNair have very serious issues and I think the fans have tolerated this bs long enough. Time for Obrien to move on and OUT of Houston. Back to Pennsylvania or wherever and good luck ever getting another job in the NFL.
If im not mistaken, Andy Reid does the play calling in KCI mean for crying out loud, doesn't every team in the NFL have an offensive coordinator? Who the heck does he think he is? How about that Red Zone offense of the Texans 2016. Absolutely Pitiful, all under his control and command. Give me a break. I'm sorry but this is starting to tick me off. I want him fired if he doesn't go along with someone new being brought in to run this pathetic offense.
Not sure about that but they do have Brad Childress as their OC.If im not mistaken, Andy Reid does the play calling in KC

Texans fans have tolerated a helluva' lost worse considering 132 consecutive sellouts at NRG Stadium that includes two 2-14 seasons...
I certainly understand your frustration, but this franchise does not really care what we think about things when business is so good regardless of the product on the field.
Something doesn't compute....
15 seasons x 8 home games = 120 + 3 home playoff games = 123
They must have transposed a couple of digits
to be clear I'm not arguing against your overall point, just questioning their math
Maybe that's how Osweiler got paid so much. These guys suck at arithmetic.
Aaaaah... I see.Maybe it's this new day and age of "alternative facts" I keep hearing about....
....sort of like when O'Brien said he watched all the film of Brock and also said "he is an accurate passer".
Not sure about that but they do have Brad Childress as their OC.
Correction: The Chiefs have two, count 'em, TWO offensive coordinators, Childress and Matt Nagy. LINK
The Kansas City Chiefs have not one but two new offensive coordinators. Andy Reid named Brad Childress and Matt Nagy as the Chiefs co-offensive coordinators after Doug Pederson left for the Eagles.
Andy Reid confirmed that he will be calling the plays. More specifically, he said that he would call the bad plays and Childress and Nagy would call the good plays.
"We'll keep Brad in the box (upstairs) and then Matt will go ahead and come down on the field - he'll do the coach-to-quarterback headset," Reid said on Thursday via quotes from the Chiefs. "As far as the duties go, we'll just see how all that plays out. Right now, they're just splitting them up and we're working through that. There's plenty there to work with."
So that's Reid on the field calling plays, Nagy relaying them through the headset and Childress working from the booth.
So they effectively have three and we have one.
The Houston Texans mutually parted ways with offensive coordinator George Godsey after their playoff loss to the Patriots, and afterward, they announced that head coach Bill O'Brien would basically run the offense without hiring a new coordinator. However, sources say there is a name to keep an eye on as joining the Texans staff as an offensive assistant, and that is none other than Chip Kelly. The pro-style offense of O'Brien seems like an odd fit for Kelly and his college spread system, but Kelly and O'Brien are close friends with a lot of mutual respect for each other's football knowledge.
The other advantage to having Kelly on staff would be if the Texans drafted a quarterback like Clemson's Deshaun Watson or Texas Tech's Pat Mahomes II. Both of them are coming from spread college passing attacks, and Kelly could help them make the jump to a NFL system. Kelly has other potential landing spots like New England, but keep an eye on Kelly possibly landing in Houston.
Please let this be true.

They are counting preseason. I am not sure if they were adding in the 2016 season with that already? (It was a,2015 guide)It would be 10 more games (mexico game throws it off) plus an assuming playoff game.Something doesn't compute....

Pre-season, regular season and post-season, there's been 154 games. I don't know where these different numbers are coming from.
