Ok, I'm willing to coordinate an order with a FEW people. It's not that I don't like all of you, I just want to keep it simple and not have to muck with trying to get 30 people to pickup jerseys. First and foremost, I have never done meth or any hard drugs, and I have a very good job at a large oil company, which pays me well enough. So chances are 100% that I'm not trying to screw anyone over to fund my bad habit (or anything else), however I am a very frugal person so cheap jerseys are right down my alley :D

I don't really want to have to track people down for this, so I'll make this easy. I know I want two jerseys, 1 JJ Watt white jersey (I have a good feeling about this guy), and 1 legacy Nolan Ryan jersey. As long as I get a couple more people with a total of at least 8 jerseys ordered, I will go through with it for sure. In fact, I want to keep this order to a minimum number of people, so I'll start by only accepting orders for multiple jerseys only. Once I get to ~12 total jerseys ordered, I will square away the details with everyone involved and THEN ask for payments. I live 2 blocks from Bubba's bar on Washington, so I will definitely make it out to some away games this year if the Blue Crew is planning on tailgating there. If nothing else, I'm happy to meet you there whenever. It's no inconvenience for me to head over there for 10 minutes, so long as YOU are ok with meeting me there. If you live in Dallas, you have to make the drive down, not me.

So here's how we will do this in extreme detail because once the order is made, it's set. I do not accept returns, but if the store makes a mistake I'll get it fixed :)

Step 1: Go to this site and shop around:

Another poster mentioned they used them HERE, so I'm willing to give them a shot. I haven't used them before, but if there are major objections we can change it.

Step 2: Determine exactly which jerseys and sizes and colors you want.


Step 3: How I want YOU to post your order request to me in this thread:
1x JJ Watt White jersey Large size

That is, Name of the jersey, color and size spelled out to the T so that no mistakes are made on the order. I also want you to link the item so there is definitely no confusion about what you want. This will ensure accuracy in the order.

Step 4: Wait until I get enough people in on the deal. I will PM everyone and post in this thread once we reach the limit.

Step 5: Once the people and jersey details are confirmed, I will ask for payment of $25 a jersey through Paypal. I'll give out my email address at that time and PM you all my phone number in case you need to call me about it.

Step 6: Once the order arrives at my house, I'll notify everyone and post some pics in the thread. We can work out your pickup date/time at Bubba's bar on Washington. The next away game will likely be the best option.

Step 7: If you are happy with your order and how it went, no tip necessary. Instead, throw $10 or more in the TTalk donate pile. I'm sure Kevin will appreciate it. Put those savings to good use :)



Ok, I think that covers it. I'm open to suggestions if needed. If I don't get enough interest to make a full order, I will open it up to single jersey requests.

You might want to check in with swtbound07. I think he has some experience with this sort of thing and may still have a few left over jerseys around.

I met a few of the posters last year at a TTalk meetup at Bubba's. Thorn, Honoring Earl, JB, JT, TB, Cak, Doc, Andrew6, etc. But I don't go to the games much, so I haven't really tailgated with the group. I'll definitely make it out to some of the away game tailgates though.

Only need 2 more jerseys to get this order going, so you would be it.

Local only or will you mail the jerseys too? I'd like to get in on the order, but can't pick them up in person for obvious reasons.

I'll be willing to ship them on the next order. Drs23 asked about that as well, so I told him to wait until the first one is finished, then I'll open it up for a second order and ship things for those of you elsewhere. PM or post what you want and I'll put you on the list.
 
Ok, I'll think about it. In the meantime, I may ask a local buddy to see if he can pick them up/meet for them in person.

I'll get with the Mrs tonight (The "Minister of Finance" at my castle, I'm just the king) and get you a Paypal sent out this evening. Sounds like a plan. If these show up and we're all happy I might jump in on another order the next time if you've got room (I think if there are other people who want to go next at that time take them first).

No problem. Disaacks said he will send his later this week, so hopefully we can get it ordered by this weekend. I have no idea how long the shipping takes though. This order is just a trial run for me to work out the kinks in the process, and I expect to do more and turn it into a fundraiser for TTalk donations :)

Even thought I got trashed on my thread. I want to give you guys a heads up. just let all you buyers know that it is possible that customs tags your package coming in and you will have to pay addtl taxes on your jerseys.. last year it happened several time to me. you will have to pick up the package at the post office i do 10 jerseys at a time orders and was taxed like 110-130 to recieve the package.. like a said just a heads up..

Should something like this happen I'll of course be willing to pay whatever the additional charge is for my jerseys. It's only fair if they cost more I'll have to pay more.

From what I've heard, it's hit-an-miss. It strongly depends on how the package is labeled. If it says "NFL Jerseys", rather than "consumer goods", it's definitely going to get stopped.

i have not been able to tell.. but i did get hit alot last yr.. but didnt get hit on my first one for this season.. anyway.. good luck! it hurts when you have to go and get the package and have to pay again..

Yeah, I don't think I'll have much of a limit on the next order, and if you're in for 2 I'll have at least 10 requests. I have some friends who want a couple EPL soccer jerseys too, so I'm going to add them to the order. My girlfriend wants to get a Cushing jersey and a Pettite Astros jersey, but she wants to wait and see what the sizes look like before ordering one. Sadly the women's selections are rather low.

I'll likely be in for 4. What I've been told ius that Garza is right, order 10 at a time or less is best.

Hmmm, OK, I'll take my Ryan jersey out of the order then to make an even 10. I'll get it on the next go around or two. Not like I'll be going to any Astros games for a while anyways... :)

Random question, does anyone with experience dealing with purchase have a preferred method of payment? As I understand it Western Union and Paypal will charge you money for the conversions, and you may incur charges for using Visa or Mastercard. Any suggestions?

I'm no help here. I'd likely stay with Paypal simply out of ignorance. Somebody has to have an educated opinion on this though.

I believe they can simply transfer money to you for free. Just give them your email address associated with your paypal account.

Setting up a bill on paypal will cost money.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm looking at here. However, they offer 10% off the order if I use Western Union, which saves $25 off 10 jerseys, but costs $14 in fees. So net $11 in savings, not too bad. I'm just concerned about the payment going through and not getting "lost"

Western Union is great if you're trying to get $$ to someone you KNOW (and they survive on massive fees). I prefer the fraud prevention with Paypal, even if the savings is lessened.

Hey bro stay with paypal.. if you dont get all your jerseys for any reason or they are not the quality that you are looking for then you can open and case and get your money back.. you should not have to pay a fee if you are paying out of your bank.. if you use a c.c. then there is a fee.. but direct payemtn out of your checking acct is free. Like i said I have been doing for 2 yrs now.. but i only use paypal.. FYI..
 
I use Paypal for a business I have in Spain and I also use it for donations for this site. I agree with everyone else, stick with Paypal. Everyone knows it and is comfortable with it even overseas.

BTW, I am interested in a couple of jerseys also next time something gets ordered.

Thanks for the input again! I'll stick with Paypal for sure. I do use a bank account so if there are no transaction or conversion fees for the payer, I'm good.

While we are talking about jerseys I have a question. Does anybody know where I could get a name put on the back of a jersey I have? It's the usual CARR to SCHAUB conversion but on this jersey the name's already been removed. It's one of the expensive ones I got on ebay during that brief window between Carr being released and Schaub not having picked a number yet and I got a hell of a price on it. I just don't know if there's anywhere in town (Houston) to take it and have it stitched on correctly. I have another, cheaper one that I did myself but I hate looking at the letters. They're the right shape and at ten feet it's perfect but if you get close to it you can see that it's kind of screwed up.

Anybody have this done locally?

No prob, I'll add you to the list. There's no restriction on the type of jersey, I don't care what team or sport it's for. As long as it says 17.50, it will be $25. If not, I'll let you know how much it costs, but chances are it will be (whatever that price is minus 17.50) + 7.50.

Ok, well apparently Paypal takes a cut of $2.75. No big deal, just gonna have to bump the prices up to $26 from here on out :)
