2014 NFL Draft Thread

Not sure if this has been mentioned but draft is almost complete and not one single player from U of TX has been drafted. Wow I know they've fallen off a bit but this won't help recruiting. Good job Mack brown, good luck coach strong.

Their players haven't been coached up for years, and it looks like the league has taken notice of it now. ESPN has been talking about Jackson Jeffcoat he was a 5 star DE and rated top 10 in the nation and with his bloodlines its a serious indictment on the previous staff for him not to be selected.

Dophins drafted a player from Marist. I had never heard of it - a small college in Poughkeepsie, NY.

I wondered if they had ever had a player drafted by the NFL so I went to their college website and saw a banner saying they are hoping Fede is the first player ever drafted, so that answered my question.

Congrats!

OMG - I just realized Marist has more players drafted this year than Texas so far....

Well, a Longhorn has won the Super Bowl the last seven years. Why wouldn't we want one on the roster?

Not much left from my list with 4 picks to go

Yawin Smallwood LB UConn
Tiny Richardson G/T Tennessee
Deandre Coleman DT California (5T)
Louchiez Purifoy CB Florida (O)
Zach Kerr DT Delaware
Matt Patchan OT Boston College (X)
James Hurst OT North Carolina (X)

Isaiah Crowell RB Alabama State
Colt Lyerla TE Oregon (O)
Tenny Palepoi DT Utah
Dustin Vaughan QB West Texas A&M

Maybe I shouldn't have posted that so soon after the Sam pick.

But.

Still hoping for some ILBs here. Jones, Skov, Bullough still available.

I think this speaks top the way the NFL has changed in recent years & with so many teams in nickel or dime coverage more often than not. These guys , unless they are top tier talents are on the sidelines on 2nd & long and on 3rd down. They have really lost value.

Yeah. Seriously.

Ha I got an update from NFL app saying who we picked before it was announced. It popped up and disappeared real fast.

Not my first choice from this list, but he was one of our 30 team visits.

Ballentine doesn't look very physical. Looks like a FS/Coverage guy.

Good size though...Good speed, but I'm watching him on film and I'm not seeing it except for when he has to chase someone down from behind.

Actually...He does look kind of fast the more I watch.

Looks solid against the guys he's playing...

Meh...we'll see...

I guess you can say that 2014 draft was loaded with talents and not enough room for good prospects to be drafted.

Well he most likely is a nickel anyway.

Lol at espn with live coverage from a Hollywood gay bar.

I think it's called the gym bar.

There was a line in the birdcage about a gay couple played by robin williams and nathan lane that went something like this

Where were you?

I was at the gym.

You're lying. The las Jim you were in moved to San Francisco.
